In this video I show you how I programmed key fobs in a '97 LeSabre without a factory scan tool. Should work on the '96 to '99's but check your shop manual first to see.

Hey Eric, Can you cover this on 2000-2005 buick lesabre? It requires some different procedure and im not finding a clear answer on if you can have multiple key fobs?

I have a 1999 Buick Regal. I tried to jump #4 to #8, but was surprised to find there is no #8 wire. What gives?

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars joeblackakareaper says:

I just picked up a 1998 LaSabre with one non working key fob . I purchased 2 new ones and I jumped 4 and 8 in the scanner plug and it didn't work . I then bought a used receiver module on eBay , installed it and it didn't work either . I changed the pass-key 15 amp fuse (1-A) even though it looked good , and that didn't work either . Any suggestions ? TheReaper!

  38. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars joeblackakareaper says:

I just tried this with a 1998 LaSabre that I just picked up . I didn't work so I'm guessing the pass key module is bad ??? From what I've read there is some reprogramming needed to replace the module . It never ends . TheReaper!

i have a 94 lesabre custom do I need a certain type of key fob?

  40. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Alex M says:

I've got one for you maybe you can help me with. 2002 Buick Century Limited. Previous owner had aftermarket remote start installed and FOB programmed. In doing so, the trunk unlock button no longer functions (it does nothing now). Alarm, lock, unlock are all fine, and remote start is simultaneous lock and unlock button. Anyway to retain remote start and get my trunk button back? Sucks having to use the key. I do know for a fact that it used to work before that install. I'm thinking maybe it was programmed wrong?

  41. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars hauntedsole says:

does this work for a 2005 too

  42. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Thomas Streetman says:

  43. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Joseph Carter says:

Eric, where can I buy a "jump wire" like the one you used on the video of programming a remote for a 1997 Buick LaSabre please? I've looked everyplace for it. If I can make it myself, what gauge wire did you use please? Thanks so much, Eric!

I wish it was that simple with my Saab. I was told 50 miles was the nearest dealership to program a fob. The Saab tech that works there only comes in on Tuesday and Thursday.

  46. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jimmy S says:

On my brother's 1997 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. For his key fob there is a wire with a single pigtail on the right side of the trunk in a harness for the rear lights.   Ground that pigtail and I was able to program 2 different FOBS to it.  Took me 10 mins to find the wire.

I hate the stealerships too.   I had to run a car in once for a 5 min job of doing a CKP relearn. I did not own a Tech II tool to do this myself.  All they do is plug in a scan tool into the OBD II port.  Start the car.  Turn off all accessories and apply parking brake and rev the engine until the rev limiter kicks in.  That is the easiest $78 they made from me and I saw they charged me an environmental fee on top of that.
