Ray. A $570 battery checker?????……."WHY" ????? Can you explain what that one does, as opposed to the ones that cost about $50?
You should get yourself one of the memory minders that plug into the OBD2 port.
I've lost track of how many times I've seen battery 🔋 jackets that have been "cut" down the corner (and we all know why)
My usual Ray. Battery.
Omitted the Original Blanket? Ha Ha, just watched further!!!!-))) You got me! Nice cleaning and use of spreader.
Light coating of Any grease on the contacts. Not so much the outside of the contacts.
However Nice and brisk and satisfactory experience.
Love your stuff!
Ray is like the David Attenborough of car repairs. Can even make a battery replacement entertaining.
I always do the duct tape over speaker mods on annoying things like that….
I have a 2017 same truck in Canada and still on original battery
I knew you would miss the insulation. I just replaced a battery on my jeep wrangler and did the same exact thing! Just extra practice on battery replacement.
We watch SMA We need rust 😀
Keep up the good content from Iowa
Would recommend to take off the metal wedding band when working with electrons or swift to a safety band when at work.
Looks to me like you forgot those small cables in the fusebox when you were done.
Will that battery free?
I have a 2004 dodge I bought in 2006 and had the original battery in it till 2018,true story
Can you do a charcoal replacement filter on a gas tank for a Dodge ram?
REEEEEE, you didnt put the battery heat retaining felt back on it
When ever I disconnect a battery with a jumper box connected, I put the positive cable inside a latex glove to prevent it from shorting to ground.
Great video BEEEEEP Ray. Even BEEEEEEP the small things BEEEEEEP we enjoy. Loved the BEEEEEEEP torque wrench action. BEEEEEEEP Job well done once BEEEEEEP again! BEEEEEEEEP.
What the heck is that battery cover for and its purpose?
Get yourself a little obdII battery saver plug. It’ll save you a lot of relearns.
I replaced the battery in my 14 ram and it didnt lose the radio memory.. it is a 8.5 touchscreen
Thank you for installing the insulation back! I was mad when you didn't put it back because I had the dealership replace my battery on my 5th gen RAM and they didn't put it back… Man I hated them for that!
I was shouting at the screen trying to tell you that you forgot the insulation 🤣🤣
👊💪🏁
Oh no! You brought out the assault blow gun, you just triggered every Democrat to now call for a ban on said blow gun, don't forget how dimwitted they are, they probably would think you could attack a school or something with it, thank goodness you're in Florida.
Making the shifter an electronic knob. What could go wrong? Thats a new level of fkery, as usual served up by FIAT RAM
Love your terminologies I think there may be a CONEHEAD somewhere in your genealogy
Mopar tech here. You don’t have to put a jump box on because the radio memory will retain unless it’s aftermarket radio. Most time the clock will reset because they are gps calibrated. Just a tip for ya. Like the videos to see different techniques and always wanting to learn.
Ray I honestly hope your employer realizes the importance of you showing that there are honest and conscientious technicians out there. I consider you a Master Mechanic is that is not an offense to you.
I do watch with envy though as you work on 10+ year old cars and are able to get things apart without the struggles those of us up north have.
I was wondering when you are working on older vehicles where do you source fasteners if you need them? Especially 20 years or older it seems like we have only the dealer to turn to, and that results in a $9 bolt and a $4 nut – not too economic.
Love the battery clamp speculum.
How can you correctly diagnose a battery with it still in circuit and why would you if you intend to remove the battery anyway?
I was wondering about the insulation cover. I told you that your were leaving it off, but you acted like you couldn't hear me 🙂
Twisty knob shifters are lame.
I don't think I've seen a battery with insulation on it before.
i HATE this twist knob autos, they always put it RIGHT NEXT TO THE VOLUME KNOB
As a trucker who hauls hazwaste sometimes in 55 gallon drums i knew exactly what that sound was before you said it 😅
Nice
I cannot believe I spent twelve minutes watching you change a battery. I started wrenching in HS and do most of my own work. I'm a certified Electronics Tech doing all kinds of mechanical-electronic repairs and a certified Aircraft Mechanic as well. Still I found it entertaining watching something as simple as a battery R&R. You must be doing something right. Or I'm becoming a Zombie.
I've been asking every time you use the Super Scraper where I can acquire one. Looking online, the only place that I found selling them is out of stock. Yes, only one place, where can I get one? Did you ever think about becoming a dealer?
I used to spray wd40 all over my engine bay to keep the crusties away. After a good wash of course. Never had an electrical problem.
I was just getting ready to get you on not transferring the winter blanket, LOL!
What about to register this new battery, to the car not needed?
What about the battery blanket
I'mmm smarrrter thannn youuu radar.
Hey i need some help I have a 2005 GMC 1500 5.3 liter runs perfect but i have put 8 thermostats in it in the past 6 months and not one will get my engine to run at operating temp while driving, If i sit and let it idle for 20 min it will run at 86-92 deg C like it is suppose to but when i drive it drops to 62-69 deg C. I have a new rad new hoses heater core flows perfect pump flows great and thermostat is installed correctly but it has me stumped
Ray, CCAs aren't installed… you're in Florida silly lol
Yay! Blanket! Keep that battery nice and warm 🙂
Is the assault blow gun that gave me a chuckle thank you very much for that
