  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars SuGGoz says:

Ray, you are always making fun of VW but how about that PT Cruiser? Hunk of junk. There is a reason why europeen and asian are selling more cars then the americans.

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John Adams says:

Never ever ever drive a car hot!! Never!!

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mickey Mishra says:

The PT was my first new car. I still have the first car I ever bought too. And I think I will keep mine running LONG into the future.

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John Vanlandingham says:

I got 73k on my 2006, I didn't want it, but it is quiet runs like a bat outta hell on the highway, just wish it had a manual tranny.

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars FumeDrummer says:

I loved my Neon… until the head gasket blew. Friendly mechanic told me that Chrysler was experimenting with a new head gasket material that became known to fail. Poor little Neon. Traded it at the same dealership for an Intrepid that I also fell in love with.

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Keiichi67 says:

So this was a PT loser after all. Another example how proper maintenance could have prolonged a vehicles lifetime.

The was the American try to reproduce a kind of classic, like the European VW, The Mini, FIAT 500 and the 2CV

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Larry Bavry says:

It's time to call one of those charities that will tow your car away for free even if it is not in running condition and give you a tax deduction for the donation.

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Forever Computing says:

Some of the repairs I have done on my car would put it at "repair cost exceeds vehicle value" but I like the car. I spent the repair costs on tools I need. Tap and Die kit (large range) engine/gearbox hoist, flywheel locking tool. Better jack.

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Junkyard Dogg says:

replaced a engine in one of these the other day

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars DC Various Vids says:

Apart from the obvious mechanical problems, the thing seems to be in good condition. Ok the water pump wouldn’t have been an inexpensive fix and the fan needed to be fixed too. But those would have been cheaper than ignoring the problems and the resultant cream cracker led engine.

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars z33511 says:

I used to think your double entendres were unintentional until you "polished the knob" in this video.

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jamie Driscoll says:

My sister loves PT Cruisers. I just don't get it

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars William Cawley says:

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars newtonianromance says:

Can you imagined driving a PT cruiser for 185K miles…jesus…

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jackie Acheson says:

Everyone's surprised that it made it to 180k. My last one got to over 200k.

  27. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Two Heart says:

Its a miracle that it survived all those miles.

  28. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Rex Bentley says:

Always cheaper to fix a car than buy another one you know nothing about. That's why I still have a 59 Plymouth.

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars eltsen nestle says:

    Well…nice color !!

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars RighteousWeevil says:

This is exactly what happened to my old PT, I was able to limp it for a bit by siphoning coolant from the overflow back into the radiator every 40ish miles for about 2 months before I could save up for a down payment on a new car. So glad to be past the "driving terrible broken down vehicles" stage of my career.

  31. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Eric Christmas says:

I had to rebuild my 2007 pt, took about a week of work to get it working…then 2 sensors failed and the AC died like a week later….i have about 150k miles on it, and i use it for all my home depot and junk runs as my 2nd car hahahah

  32. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars David Tilley says:

WHY WHY WHY on EARTH – would ANYBODY EVER BUY a DAIMLER CHRYSLER PRODUCT – A JEEP or ANYHTING ELSE that they make? I've got a 2003 TOYOTA CAMRY that's done 195,000 KM – bought new. TOTAL SPEND in 18 YEARS? $220 AUD – An after market water pump, a serpentine belt – and ONE only GENUINE TOYOTA DENSO coil pack! It has NOT yet even had any of the brake components replaced – and that includes pads! Yes, of course batteries, tyres, spark plugs, light globes, oil and transmission fluids have all been replaced when due over time – BUT NO ACTUAL WEAR AND TEAR PARTS – and NOT ONE electrical problem! BUY A TOYOTA instead!

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Les Rocheuses says:

Nifty hose clamp pliers. Am ordering a pair. Thanks.

  34. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Camouflage Peacock says:

So sad. Cruising to the scrap pile. Oh, only if cars could talk. We'll never know what it lived through. 😆

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Wet Hook Fever says:

Honestly, I’m surprised it lasted 180k.

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars smccatv says:

Neighbor owns a repair shop. He bought one that a customer brought in. Head gasket of course. 2 years later same thing so he buys another with no problems he was told. Head gasket blows on way home. So he replaced both head gaskets. He loves the car.

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Allen Morgan says:

I had a PT Cruiser with 401,000 on it.
I miss it. Was reliable. Used every day. One hour both directions.

  38. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars RCPro Driver says:

That PT Cruiser made it 50k miles further than most of them did.

  39. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars vilefly says:

I have a specific protocol for Post-Traumatic Cruisers with an overheat or weak a/c performance. Before starting, jumper the high and low speed fan relays to test the fan windings. Use a pressure tester to leak test it cold. Before starting, release all pressure and re-engage the pressure tester, and watch the gauge after starting the engine. If pressure builds too quickly, run the co2 detector test for combustion gasses in the cooling system.
Most of the time, the low speed fan windings are burnt out, then the high speed fan only kicks in at 235 F. This slowly bakes the engine into oblivion, with the owner being oblivious, since it sets no code and slightly registers higher on the gauge. Then they turn on the a/c, and push it over the edge. I hate these cars, as well as the GM HHR. Both suck.

  40. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars dr bichat says:

Walmart must have a can of some product to fix that for 2 dollars

  41. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars thomas bayer says:

I own a pt. I would have bought a new motor, fixed the exhaust, and drove it for more years.

  42. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars legion2k says:

WTF we have intro stuff. Fancy AF. One thing your videos have showed me is that modern cars SUCK. Some of these engineers need to the throttled over the monstrosity they create.

  44. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars flipsideca says:

  45. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Haweater says:

  46. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars gin says:

At least they had character? No, probably not, but I would still take that over a loan and a Hyundai with a 7 year warranty.

  47. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Kimetsu87 says:

I called my sisters the PT Loser 😬.
