That is some laundry list of problems, the diagnosis fees would be more than the cost of the car. He must really want that car.
Wire wouldn't be melting if they didn't cheap out on it! Undoubtedly relays have helped the situation immensely.
The speedo only goes up to 120mph. These old busses have a 260bhp 5.7 V8. How come they are sooooo slow?
My old Opel Omega with a 180bhp V6 would nudge 150mph with relative ease.

I've got a 94 buick roadmaster with 105k miles, it's got a cooling fan issue where they won't quick on until I'm doing 45mph down the then the engine light comes on and the fans engage full speed until I shut the key off
someone use a sound system. hooked up the amps to the wrong stuff.
My daily is a 96 roadmaster…. love the dang thing.

5.7L wow. Our European family car "station wagon" has a 0.9L three cylinder turbo engine… Makes you think.
at seeing the high beam switch/wire cooked, that screams worn switch contacts, broken/shorted headlamp filaments and long desolate 2 lane roads (in the mid 90's lots of Florida was rather undeveloped and vacant for many mile radius.) which means you could often run an hour+ with headlights on high and not see anything but bugs, rodents and orange groves.
now days the areas I knew as desolate empty are all dense packed cesspools 😉 albeit I rather dislike Florida, every time I was there my nose and allergies were full tilt death
someone put the wrong bulbs in (too much current), sockets probably melted and sorted also or at one point. etc.
I would have just run a Wire from an Always Hot source to that White/warmed White wire, bypassing that connector. I just hate working on Steering Columns
102,000 miles back in the day was the end of life for any vehicle. I now have a 13 year old Toyota with 200,000 that really hasn't had a single problem, other 1 bad ignition coil. Incredible.

Used to love Buicks until 2010 when GM in their infinite wisdom decided to change demographics from older buyers to a younger market and competing with the likes of Lexus, Audi and BMW.
I mean if people want a car like a Lexus, they will just buy a Lexus.
They went from a soft, luxurious ride to a sporty, European style stiff suspension and lost all their reliable customers while failing to attract younger buyers. Bye, bye Buick.
Oh, GM, I will never buy another GM vehicle ever and neither will my immediate family.
I have a 96 Impala SS which is the newer brother to the 95 Roadmonster. They're both built in Arlington Texas on the same assembly line. I bought my Impala new. It now has 312,000 miles. That rat's nest of wires under the dash looks familiar. Fortunately, with one exception, I have not had any issues under my dash. I did put a resistor in the circuit that reads the value in the key. Somewhere in the column the wire broke and the car would not crank. Thanks to the trusty internet, I figured out how to bypass the security circuit and simulate the resistance in my key. Anyway, I'm looking forward to your future videos where you do more work on the Buick.
At least the high beam switch isn't on the floor under your left foot. The only thing good about them being there was it was easy to get to them to replace when all the salt in upstate NY rusted them out regularly.
when you had the camera down there looking at the brake switch it looks like the cover was not snapped in place, maybe from someone else digging around under there.
Friend has 95 lasabre he got for a 1000 bucks super comfortable just needed the the intake done on the 3800 now it runs like a champ and is super comfortable love buicks. I had 07 lacrosse with the 3800 i loved but a deer got her not as comfortable as the 95 though.

Eric, I was helping drive the Lady across the street with a 95 Le Sabra, 54000mi in Schenectady, you are right about the way the Car Floated down the road, had the 3800 in it. Fun to drive. It's still around.
why did you get a new switch when the cable was corroded?
I love my 96 Roadmaster sedan with the LT1. It's got it's problems, but it's better than the new crap. Glad I watched this video. I learned some things about my car that I didn't know. And that's always a good thing

Good trouble shooting
Again , the visual inspection is one of the most important things to do before the parts cannon is fired . I can't imagine what some hacks would have done without going through a wiring diagram and tracing it out . Diagnose Dan had a BMW with a bad " antenna " in the door handle on the security system . It was a no start . A shop put in thousands of dollars of parts – including a steering column ! I can't understand how they get away with it . If it's above your level , pass it on . Better to annoy a customer than kill them forever . Great find . A pile of tools only makes you a parts changer . A brain = priceless .

So sad, someone forgot to use brake cleaner getting rid of the junk before putting together the connector, resulting in hight risistance, almost putting the car on fire. So what can you learn: When in doubt, always use break cleaner 🙂

The white wire usually breaks off at the plug. Back in the late 90s, I had two different cars in one day (just a small shop) . I think most, if not all, of them had tilt wheel.
