What type of symptoms would the vehicle have??
helpful video thanks keep up the good work
Thanks Eric. Eric what software are you using on your laptop? Thank you!!
Man, I would love to drive mine there now!!! Or these guys to see my 69 in my avatar
Great job
I know this video is old, but i checked my truck and it says "P0453 Evaporative Emission System Pressure Sensor/Switch High" but the video says "P0453 FTP sensor high voltage". Is the code different for different vehicles?
All the 40 years I've been a wrench I've never heard it called "the money light" love it I'm using it thanks.
What would be a cheap scan tool to access that data and perform those tests? I have a 449 code. I assume it is the solenoid. But want to do the tests.
Another college course I can attend. Keep at it professor…I learn a lot.
Eric, what type of scanner are you using
One thing I can't figure out. Why do people bring their vehicle's to you for money light. Only to take it somewhere else for inspection?
👍👍🌟🌟🌟🌟👍👍
Yup… before starting this video my first thought was vent solenoid.
for those of us who doesn"t have a test probe, can I use a test light????
Would this cause the fuel to back up while filling the tank with gas? My s10 backs up terribly while fueling up. What could be the cause of this?
You mention a missing gas cap as possibly an issue, I'm wondering if my filler neck is causing the same codes. If I fill up all the way, I get a spill back behind the side of the bed, right at the top of the fuel neck and on really hot days, I can definitely smell gas, even though there's none leaking on the ground (probably just vapors). I need to replace my fuel pump anyway and was going to look at repairing/replacing the neck, this might solve my problem!
So what is p0452
Money light on. Lmao
I love my power probe use it all the time just fixed my canister valve today with it 👍
Could you do these test without the $1,000 scanner nobody here would have, please? I've got a persistent P0452 on my 02 silverado and I've yet to find a video to help me… Especially only having a more basic OBDII scanner and a multimeter.
Money light lol, that’s a good one!
Got the P0449 code and the engine light is not on.Could someone have cut the wire to the engine light or is the problem not severe enough to make the light come on?
Yes,I did find the actual cause of my check engine light in my Chevrolet LS1 V8 powered Holden Commodore,on Wednesday,I was sitting at the service station waiting to use the air line to pump my tyres up.
When I started the engine back up,the check engine symbol became switched on (it's on an LCD screen) ,when I got home,I scanned it & got a P0171 code, previously,I got a P0174 code as well,I sort of noticed that the O ring was split & all hard on the fuel filler cap.
So, I bought a new cap on Thursday which has fixed the problem, the fuel tank wasn't holding any vacuum & I noticed that the idle speed changed (dropped) momentarily once I bought a new cap & fitted it onto the filler neck.
Since my car isn't fitted with a fuel tank pressure sensor no P0442 code is listed for the Chevrolet LS1 engine in Australia since Holden don't use one,all I can go off is the lean codes !
Nice how you advertise another youtuber
I have that code, p0440. My gas neck is leaking when I go to filler up! Could that cause my code! The fact that it is leaking. I did look for the fuel neck assembly. GM discontinue that for the 2000 Chevy Tahoe. But I can get it from different places. So again the fact that my fuel neck is leaking when I put gas in it could cause that code?
I have the same problem on my 2001 Chevrolet S-10
love your vids. need your help you are in new york . I'm in the great state of Nebraska, football team is not the greatest even with new coach lol. Lost speedometer replaced sending unit on tail shaft of tranny sill no work been told mod behind glove box is problem can you give any insite 1992 chevy c2500 all it has is AC auto tranny 302254 miles can any one help thank you
Have you ever worked on a Hyundai Equus?
As I'm not a mechanic, it fascinates me how you mechanics get to the heart of problems. I really like watching your process of fixing cars. If you were my mechanic I know I'd be in good hands. Unfortunately I have to use the dealer, as there seem to be no local guys of your caliber near me. Thank you for your videos and sharing your knowledge of cars with us.
Ain’t nobody got time to verify repairs! 🙂
Power probe is honestly a tool I’m scared to use
keep making videos on Evap this one was very informative great work Eric O
I'll bet money PLASTIC RUSTS up there!
Eric: what's that poster on the wall mean?? "I'm no Rocket Fish"?
Eric, I've got a great suggestion. How about a greatest hits video of the top 10 rusted out POS that have ever been in a SMA video? This pristine, driven by a little old lady only on Sunday, special has got to be included. You could search every junkyard in Arizona and never see anything close to this bad.
Does that pass inspection in new York with the cab corners and rocker panels gone like that ?
Same body condition as my brother's '02 2500 HD (Duramax) was in 4 years ago. 😞
Gotta love GM – they sure know how to make money! Sell the truck for $40 LARGE (at the time- much HIGHER now), rake in dough on sub-par parts, then 12 years later, it's going to the scrapyard, and people run right back to a GM dealer for another! Amazes me.
Great demonstration of why you ALWAYS need to verify a repair! I've had a few lately that have had more than one issue in the same system. Gotta slow down to go fast – take the time and CHECK. 👍
Wish I could've seen the keychain – sounds like my kind of humor. 😁
I was trying to think of something cool to say but Tom already made an awesome comment. I'll just say "good work" and move on. 🙂
I’m so glad you didn’t use the Tech2, it’s a tool for GM elitists.
Ok, I’m kind of curious now what was on his key that was so funny? I’m sure you can censor it better with text right? 😉
Awe man, I watched part 2 first, then part 1. It's like dividing by 0. I'm all messed up now. Nice job sir.
a hillbilly trick is tickle them with 28 to 30 volts in very small bursts. sometimes they break loose and work for a while. but failure is imminent :))
I bought a power probe 4 back when they came out because I thought it had some neat features. I think the only thing it’s been used for is applying power or ground..
Nice touch with the flatrate master music 👌🏻
rusted rocker panels📌
ABS light "ON"📌
EVAP codes📌
tell me what make of truck we're dealing with…
Great evap video!!! was that Flat rate Master's music playing as you raised the vehicle?
A suggestion on new videos would be a clock spring on a 2007-2014 GM full sized truck tahoe or suburban (GMC equivalent). And do the ABS module replacement on 1999-2006 GM truck tahoe or suburban. Thanks for the vids!!!
Good video….good music.
Sweet blues music!
Always meant to ask, what happened to your left hand pointer finger?
