That's an unbelievably excessive amount of hub cleaning for a brake job; I've never seen so much time put into cleaning a hub face!
You should wear a mask , safety for ur family . Metal and brake dust is very dangerous, I used go home everyday smell all this and carbon exhaust clean my nose full of dust and dark brown it did hurt me in along runs , take care of ur self my friend and ur health in the future when you retire

I have the same right angle impact but for some reason my gun struggles to remove 110 ftlb lug nuts. How is it yours takes 150ft lug nut off so easily? I oil my tools, have high flow fittings on it, and I'm using a 3/8 inch air hose. Anyone know? Love your videos btw. 🙂 Just ordered 1894. I like the gun but I'm wondering if it's a lemon. It's excellent for small studs but horrible for anything above like 15mm.

Heya Eric ! Kinda wish you had tried a regular socket just to see if the straight air wrench would have removed those bolts before switching to the larger wrench.. cause you mentioned that the swivel sockets robbed power. have you done it since with a straight socket on caliper bolts ?

It's tools like these that separate the men from the boys. I should be a little bit more man in a day or two.
My 2012 GMC Terrain (2.4L Ecotec) that I picked up used last year suddenly was out of time, probably by just one tooth on a cam sprocket. This was odd because the owner gave me all his receipts and just 10k miles before I got the car he paid $1400 for a timing chain service.
So I start wrenching a bit and the first thing I see is the top timing chain guide that sits above the chain between the cam sprockets has been sheered completely off. I think it unlikely that that happened in the 10k miles since the timing chain was replaced. So I order the guide and had planned to just drain the oil pull the cover off, get the timing alignment back and move on with life. I bought new oil, filter, crank bolt, cam bolts, and a new tensioner in preparation for this.
And as these things do…..it went all pear-shaped from there. So I assumed the sheared chain guide was what sent the previous owner to a garage for a new timing chain because the piece of metal probably caused a skipped tooth somewhere at the very least. Well, the chunk of metal was still there behind the timing cover and there was a lot of slack in the chain. About this time I notice the head of the chain tensioner is awful rusty. So this shop either didn't replace the top guide because it hadn't sheared off yet, or they saw it was sheared off and just didn't bother to spend 3 minutes to replace the part with the one from the timing chain parts kit. But even worse than that…the kid doing the work got frustrated with the tensioner being stuck (if he even bothered with it) and said "fuggit" and left the original on as well.
Now I'm not a small guy, and there isn't a hell of a lot of room to work with but I can get my 13" flex-head ratchet and 32mm socket (3/8 drive) on the tensioner…but that baby aint moving for me, no matter how much I rub her shoulders and tell her she looks pretty.
"Cswann8…does this novel have a conclusion" you may ask. It does (I hope), but it'll have to wait until I get my new Astro Pneumatic 1/2" Nano impact gun and 32mm 1/2 drive impact socket. I'll update when it comes in.
But what I can tell you now is the moral of this story. Even if you aren't an intrepid shade-tree mechanic like me…learn about this stuff. A little hand-held mirror and flashlight would have shown the previous owner that he just got ripped off to the tune of $1400 if he'd have just looked at that rusty tensioner and known what he was looking at. Eric is one of those unicorn mechanics that probably 1 in 10,000 small towns is lucky enough to have. I don't know of such a unicorn in the Austin TX area…but then I like working on cars, learning new things and buying new tools. And anyone in north TX would do very well to never darken the door of Integrity Car Care in Aubrey TX.
Yeah the youd have to put an roof over it better of where it is and they dont know what their asking to move an 80 gal compressor the old one we had in the shop was a 375 gal compressor for a few years and it was a noisy bugger

Use the long swivel socket defeated the purpose of this short body tool. This is an insult of the short body impact tool.
You are very artistic with getting the rust off and preserving the metal. I have never seen brake specialists do all of the cleaning and greasing that you do. They usually want to charge $1,100 for a brake job.
Can you do a video teaching how to set up air compressor hoses and tools for the least amount of air leakage?

Hey Eric O. love your videos. Not sure if you'll read this but if you do, on vehicle with ABS brakes should you open bleeder valve on caliper when compressing the brake caliper piston back or is that a myth. I'm just wondering. I never did it myself but just heard that it may hurt ABS system. Thanks.

Just curious why the rotors were scrapped out?On our 2010 Equinox, I have cut mine at 80K and 160K and it looks like I will scrap them out at 240K.Don't forget to use a back up wrench when removing the actuator guide pin screws. I think Eric got lucky with the impact and did not tear up the pin boots.Install the guide pin screws at 20 ft-lbs.Also the caliper bracket bolts may have been Loctited from the factory. We have been using Loctite red.The caliper bracket screw torque is 140 ft-lbs.
