In this video I have a look at a 2013 Chevy Impala that has had some issues after hitting a deer. Does that have anything to do with the problem or is it just a coincidence? Follow your diagnostic path! -Enjoy!

Have the exact same car and code in the shop right now. Left today with most of the sensors unplugged going up head back and start hunting again.
I am having a very similar issue. My problem however is that it isnt a constant tac loss. It will happen when im driving. If I turn the car off for a couple minutes and back on the problem goes away. Eventually however it will do it again and occasionally shuts off while driving
Two words. Flux Capacitor.
thanks eric
In my day all we had was a Sun test machine where you plugged a long spring into the distributor cap ( coil port) and then a lead plugged into the spring and then there were a few other leads to hook to carb. etc.
Yes he is good
Found Eric's videos a few days ago and I…can't…stop….watching….
That's weird that when Jerry monkeyed around with the wiring under the car, that of all things it took a random very tiny deer hit to jostle the terrible crimped wiring apart in such a way that it made the car lose voltage because the harness happened to rest on the transmission line
Great troubleshooting skills. Not many techs would be able to locate the problem as you did. Great job.
A wiggle fix .
Next on SMA Eric O and the wiring nightmare!!!!! Lmfao π
Good stuff.
Customers can run you down rabbit holes and I just chose to not let their "diagnosis" push me into the wrong places.
Have them fill out the work order and make them leave!
I had a "haunted" Chrysler K-car a long time ago where ALL the wires decided to spontaneously disintegrate inside the main loom from the firewall over to the valve cover.
THAT was a nasty one when I thought I had somehow spilled water on a witch and this was a pay back!
I think this was in the days of soy-based wire insulation.
I don't know what set off the disintegration all at the same time – but it was a mess.
when in doubt ….. lean on the wiper motor schoud / cover ….. remember that one ?
Unless I missed it. How come you don't use any fender covers? Just as a former paint and body man i cringe not seeing fender covers not being used.. Other than that I enjoy you videos.
Eric, I'm gonna say you have a lot of studying on your equipment to know it so well.
that a nightmare job
he to good
Wiggle it, just a little bit…
π€£π
The basic, 3 Cβs
Couldn't stump him if you tried
Ya, I could do it , if you were to loan me your scan tools!
It amazes me how he finds out these complicated problems
AWESOME JOB Mr O.
Iβve noticed you have used quite a few different scanners in different videos. Do you have a go to scanner that you prefer to use?
Great trouble shooting skills as always. learning never stops and your vids are priceless for us DIY, thanks.
Wow that would've had me ripping the wiring out all over the front where the damage was.
The Impala claims βSelf Defenseβ. It said the Deer had a knife over a foot long.π€¦π»ββοΈ
Drain the DC swamp
Eric O I did a good visual on 08 Pontiac. Found green goo on valve cover.. fixed no crank no start.. thank you have been sticking to the plan
Let's get this man to one million.
Damn son….
We have a nasty history of trucks hitting couches here in the Midwest.
Great video, problem with your camera sharpness. Images are blurred.
Electrical problems are always fun. Nothing like a good schematic, scanner, and following the data.
Eric, there is a bulletin on this very issue, I was reading it Monday of this week while diagnosing a βLoss communication with TCMβ on a 2014 Impala. Unfortunately that was not my issue.
I think… well imma almost certain that mechanic (repair shops)like these is dying species.
Eric the car whisperer!! Fur sure.
What Scanner are you using?
I think I am going to have to start drinking again, watching this. Too many bad memories of "where did it go?"
Somehow I doubt that started the instant the man hit the deer
either 1 some of the other repairs caused it to start rubbing or 2 the hit caused the rubbing
either way, good job finding a potential intermittent nightmare
Reduced power mode? Was that a two-legged deer or four legged deer. Just saying!π΄π΄π΄ wiggling, butt connectors, and two-legged deer do not mix. Just saying!!!π€©
Simply brilliant and no, I'll never be able to do it like Eric O! Now if I could only get my wife to understand "there is your problem lady".
Been watching you for a while. Gotta admit your videos have encouraged me to work on my own car which I do now !
Got it ππΌππΌππΌππΌπ
