Come along as I swap out a rusted out oil pan on a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country with the big 3.3 liter. The money light is also on and that takes a surprising twist that you get to see in part two.

  1. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Happy Hands says:

Ah i see it has the classic Chrysler droopy liner. I just replaced the oil sending unit on my dodge 3.7. The leaky sending unit turned my steering rack mounting bushings into goo from the constant leak.

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Robin Sattahip says:

I lived in California before leaving the US and have never heard of replacing an oil pan for anything other than impact damage. That salt they use on the roads is so destructive one would think a better alternative would be found.

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars BigDaddy MRI says:

Looking forward to the part dos. Once again, love your videos. Thanks for taking us along!

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tawi Dave says:

That 3 key-ons thing is great (for codes)!!!

On my son's nissan, you have to key on 3 times, padal down for 10sec, then key on twice again, then run around the car twice, then sacrifice a lamb, and repeat till the solar eclipse.

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Don Reid says:

Sorry bud…I love your videos, but I adore your wife! 🙂

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Carlton Lane says:

Opps, may bad words Eric?,thanks for the video.

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars gbodyman73 says:

Bought an ‘04 Dakota with 216k off the original owner. 3.7 liter ran perfectly.
I pulled the ORIGINAL spark plugs out of the engine!!!
The center electrode was burnt down BELOW the porcelain on all 6 plugs.
I still have no idea how the engine was even running.

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Kenny Cunningham says:

I always used the Mopar grey silicone.

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars CMDR CLASSIFIED says:

You big tease! We got the brake clean, we got the NAPA Gold (Which is made in the same factory as WIX!), we get the lessons, but now you make us wait for the money shot! HaHAHaHaHa!\
I joke, but what you said inn this video has real value, for those who are unaware. It's one of the reasons that I follow you for. You are a real Mechanic, like me (35+ years now). The other reason is that you show folks that they can do these jobs themselves. I am big on the Right to Repair. So before this gets too long, I'll end it with something applicable.
When you go to repair it, ask yourself, is it cheaper to keeper!
Have a great day, Sir. And God bless you and you family. o7

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John Jones says:

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Justin T says:

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tim Davis says:

If Eric O and Rainman Ray got together and had a shop midways of the US people would come from across the country to get them to work on their vehicles. 2 of the most trusted mechanics I know, for sure. Take care, Eric. And take care of Mrs. O. Don't let her keep outshooting you. Ya making us guys look bad…LOL.

loved your Brake Clean sound, shades of Rainman…. oh, you gonna send him a check for borrowing that sound??? I hear he is on the bread line this week.

  28. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars fatman2325 says:

Cool ignition diag trick is to put a 3-4” piece of vacuum line between the coil and each plug wire engine will run fine but you can use your test light to short out individual cylinders to find contribution issues. It works because the carbon in the vacuum line will carry the spark

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Eli Callaway says:

Decent mechanic, absolute master of segue into the closing.

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Brian Hind says:

Eric…I VERY much enjoy all your videos, & I have been watching them since day one. I have to tell you that no site I watch on YouTube has as much noise as yours. Traffic noise, the damned "High Noon Siren, rattle guns operating in another bay, the air compressor pumping up, the shop extension of the telephone ringer,
& other extraneous noises. Your shops sounds like a Romanian steel mill starting up. When I select your "channel"…I first down down my local audio. Mrs. "O", is a marvelous adjunct to your clips. I can't believe the size of your kids…….has it been that long ? What a great asset you & your shop are to your clients. I enjoy your clips with Ivan from Pine Hollow, & your dual diagnoses as a team. Small town American business man….God Bless you all.

  34. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Daddyoh says:

Why didn't you replace the O-ring for the oil pickup tube? wouldn't it be better to replace it now since you have the pan down?

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Bruce Slattengren says:

Again very entertaining I look forward to the next video got me wanting more!!😊

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars ToughAncientSpark says:

You can always tell what section of town you're in by the amount of oil leaks on the pavement.
No oil spots on the street means that residents can afford newer cars that don't leak oil.
You can always pick out the low income rental house in the neighborhood!

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Donald Rice says:

A friend of mine had a 2006 town and country with 380000 miles on it still run perfect I had a 05 had 180000 on it when I sold it

On my 2004 Ford Taurus, you turn the key three times and the car would automatically transport itself to the nearest repair shop.

  45. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Bob Hudson says:

Glad you compensated for Rainman Ray being absent off the tools for a while – we need our dose of brakeclean. Retired mechanic from land Down Under.

I have never ever seen such rusted plugs. Not even in 50yo junk cars here. Do they salt roads with sulfuric acid there in NYC?

Mrs. O certainly brightens up the day.

  58. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars WhiskeyRiverRifleman says:

  59. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars James Parker says:

That oil did not look clean to me.

  60. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Satguy141 says:

For decades, Al Gore and the democrats have been telling us the single greatest threat to the world was global warming. Well they lied to us. Contrary to what you've been told, this country's nor the worlds economy run on green energy,  it doesn't run on electric cars, it doesn't run on solar panels, it doesn't run on wind power, in this country it runs on diesel fuel. And according to data from the energy information administration, we're about ready to run out of it. So when this happens, remember who to thank, Joe Biden and the Democrats for their war on fossil fuels.

  61. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars calholli says:

What you can do is sacrifice a socket– and cut a slit down 2 sides of the 5/8 deep socket, and then you can put a heavy duty hose clamp around your socket and tighten it down, and that will grip your rusty bolts much better and give you a fighting chance. My local pawn shop always has buckets of sockets in his shop, so I can go there and grab extra's for this reason, and even snag a few extra 8mm/ 10mm/ 12mm, since they always get lost so much; Why not have extra's laying around everywhere.

  62. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Steve Redenbaugh says:

    I see no part two…

  65. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Brian Lund Sr says:

Anxious for part 2! I love this channel! (BTW, are you able to get the black unisex hoodies in a 4XL for us fella's with expanded horizons?)

  66. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars THEDRAGONBOOSTER8 says:

I have never seen rusted plugs before. That salt sure does a job..

  67. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jody Whitlock says:

Honda Odyssey, 2011 vintage with 230k on her. Code for upper oil pressure sensor after replacing thrice. Oil light always on until the oil gets a quart low, then it will turn off. Can’t explain that one.

  68. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars George Reiss says:

Ah the old 9502, Navy Enlisted Classification (NEC) for Instructor.

  71. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars PhillLsx Ga. says:

  77. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Brian Lund Sr says:

NAPA Gold oil filter. That's what I use.

  78. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Gilboy64 says:

You didn’t use the Fel-Pro holds ups! You’re supposed to screw them into the block in four separate areas and then snap the gasket up over them then snap the pan up over them and it will hold them both in place while you can get a couple bolts in and then remove the plastic tools

  79. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars conundrum conundrum says:

So what you're saying is. U used a torque wrench and it broke your camera, and I fell out my chair cause Mr O used a T-wrench?

  80. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Train Guy says:

  85. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars justin watch says:

I just don't trust this Eric guy.

  86. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jarrett Roseboom says:

  87. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars bsm327 says:

I say you invite Rain Man Ray up for a couple days of wrenching. I could say you two could be goofy together

  88. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Markam Campbell says:

so you didn't have to fix the pickup tube.

  89. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Fritz Kabeano says:

That's great both you and rainman ray have the same 'intro sound' for when you pull out the brake cleaner. Hilarious!

  90. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mud Flap says:

The oil pan on my 93 F150 rusted through. That was my last Ford.

  91. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Greg Hill says:

ahh much better with the commentary I guess if they build a crap oil pan that rust that easy at least it is fairly easy to change
