In a previous video https://youtu.be/9bi0pfXNRB4 we had a look ata T&C that came in with a rusty oil pan and a misfire. Easy fix, just needs a coil and some plugs. What could go wrong? Hold my coffee....

Would you be able to help me with a schematic for my 2011 ford transit connect xl? I am having trouble diagnosing a vent valve issue but I need to test the PCM output for correct ground switched voltage I just cannot find a pin out anywhere online.

It's not good to lose your *hit! Although, I've done it several times. I once threw my distributor in the lawn, for some reason it wouldn't go in the engine….. Stuck like a lawn dart in the lawn! My wife wasn't amused at my behavior. I try to take a breath and calm down! LOL. Glad you didn't panic with that one plug. I would have freaked out! Handled it like a boss! Great job for Mrs. O getting the deer and bow hunting to boot! Good skill for the zombie apocalypse! "Lots of oil leaking back here good, good, good, good"! I love it! Good point on the spiral easy out putting pressure on what your trying to remove. Great video as usual!

Love the ol fashion mechanic way! Nice job! Love those town & country’s. Nice touch at the end injecting a little personal time into your video. Nice well rounded clip. Keep going strong!

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Kevin Berg says:

I never even considered that 100k miles on your spark plugs in the rust belt might lead to the spark plug rusting in half. Bummer.

Something tells me you might not have been able to follow step one if that spark plug broke in the rear head.

It’s funny because I was the exact opposite with my electric/air tools. As soon as I bought my electric tools, I basically never used my air tools again. The only one I ever used again was the 1/2” air impact, and that’s just because my 1/2” electric impact was intentionally pretty small. I bought good quality Milwaukee electric tools and had enough batteries to have a couple batteries charged at all times.

Why not use anti-seize on the threads to keep the plug from rusting/seizing again?

Have you tried SP air tools. They last well and have tons of grunt for their size. Nice lunch it beats my sandwich yogurt and banana. I can remember one of my work mates struggling to get broken plugs out of an outboard that had plugs with a 10mm or 12mm diameter thread. All you had to do was look at them and they broke.

  43. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Nuggets MT07 says:

I think many people can relate to the cow hoof videos, Hoof GP is a good one.

  44. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Maxx Michael says:

That twist extractor tool is also good for removing the fitting behind a shower faucet to mount the faucet base for either hot or cold water. Quite the beast.

  55. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Logic over Reason says:

tenderloins is a delicacy! try it in a cast iron pan with butter(the real stuff, not better than) and garlic, some salt and pepper and some onion, on low for like 30 min, cut into half inch chunks(like beef stew size) it literally melts in your mouth. Old wisconsin recipe.

  59. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Thomas Herring says:

I love the sound of the air stuff too, but my home work environment is the side of the road, and not so easy to get air out there, so the cordless stuff is a godsend for me.

  60. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Andy Saunders says:

There's a reason body shops use air tools.

  61. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Seedy Canuck says:

Always enjoy your Vids. One question – I always use Kopr Kote on any steel fastener/sparkplug going into an aluminum head/block. Do you ever use it ? I realize that this engine may well have cast iron cylinder heads.

  62. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Andy Saunders says:

    DeWalt IS expensive and useless.

  63. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Andy Saunders says:

So, if the oil leaking at the back makes the job easier, why not spray the front ones down with something before trying to undo them?
    Just asking.

  64. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars jwwasher says:

I felt bad for you when that plug separated as I have a Ford 5.4

  68. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Andy Saunders says:

    Never trusted Champion plugs, sorry.
Let me down too many times.

  69. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars David Toups says:

Maybe you should take up hoof trimming, Mr O? Remember, If he can do it, You can do it

  70. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Wayne Dimirsky says:

Nice video. I had the pleasure(NOT) of breaking a spark plug off in the head of a 94 Cavalier recently. It broke just like yours did with the threads and side electrode staying inside the head and the porcelain part with the nut coming out. I had one of the spiral extractors but after reading about how they can expand what you put them in and having a better chance of breaking off in it, I bought a square extractor and eventually got it out. It did not come out easy like yours did though. I have to use a 1/2 inch impact on it before it would budge. It did mess up the threads a little bit but after cleaning the threads with a chaser, I was able to get a new plug in it and it's running fine now. I was sweating it for a while though.

  71. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars 4CRASH06 says:

Siren video is mandatory! Make it so…

  72. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Matt Man Productions says:

That's funny… Remove a spark plug by hand🤣… It must have been a late night for the one that put them in, I've had plenty of those night where I'm like " did I tighten them? Yeah yeah I did" then later find out I didn't 🤣🤣

  73. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars griff Hall says:

Another excellent video Dr E.O!!! Backstrap is the best !!

  74. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars jclark says:

  75. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars 4CRASH06 says:

I’ve adopted “ding dong” and “mother lover” into my vocabulary now in an attempt to not F bomb every time I’ve gotten torqued off…so far it’s working. Thanks, Dr. O!

  76. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars gatdelporco says:

So that's why I started getting hooves trimming videos in my home… Kind of addicting, have to agree with that

  77. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Focused Electronics says:

I can't help but to watch the cow hoof videos too. 🙂 No idea why either…

  78. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars B61 Mack says:

I know what you mean Eric. I find myself watching guys on youtube that cut people's grass for free.😂

  79. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jeff W. says:

I always use a small dab of anti-seize on the spark plug threads, it definitely makes removal much easier and keeps the rust down.

  80. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Thomas says:

Haha cow hoofs somehow I'm hooked on the hoof gp I also do not own a cow !

  81. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars dnprall says:

  95. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars scanner lanier says:

My T&C had 3.8. Thought I could do the plugs. 4 came out ok. The last 2….. I surrendered. I couldn't even get a socket on them. A private tech said it was a job that could be a bugger. He said book on the plug change was outrageous but that would be the charge. Took it to the Dodge dealer. The writer just laughed. He said he would turn it over to the guy who is a contortionist and amazes everyone how he can reach into things. This guy changed out the final 2 in .5 hour and the dealer charged about $75 for the change. Worth it in my mind. I asked him how he got the socket on the plugs, he just smiled and said it was a great big bear hug reach around.

  96. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Barry Sobo says:

I'm with you on the hoof trimming videos. Why? I don't know, but so satisfying.
