Jeesh! Missed some of the video and had to rewind as soon as the screaming goat came out. Never knew I needed a screaming goat toy in my life. Perfect for dealing with family and scam-marketers.

Ray , how come you didn't know that 5/16 and 8 mm are the same size ? Love your videos (subscribed). Cheers from Australia, Robert

To remove the blower motor in a 2013 taurus you literally just unplug, remove one screw and twist off why cant all be that simple.

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Johnny Estrada says:

Why didn't you use 2 pocket screw drivers

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Robert Pirisky says:

    Love it, polishing the turd.

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Theo Nederlof says:

good place for a heather motor, i think most of the time you have to disasamble at least half a dashboard right?

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Hiền Đẹp Trai says:

No connectors over heat, melt , fail. …. no ford

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars pyrosrockthisworld says:

Just so that you know. the yellow fence in the wire strippers is designed so that you can set it out from where you are stripping the wire and you push the wire into it to ensure that you strip the correct ammount every time. how you are putting the wire over the top of the fence makes the teeth not always get the proper purchace for stripping… and hurts my brain to watch 🤣

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars ARednecksLife says:

Do they felt insulators on battery do anything??
I noticed you didn't put them back on.

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jimmy Wilson says:

That little yellow tab on those strippers is a depth gauge. give you some uniform stripped ends.

Hey Ray, I’m very upset that there was no John McClane Die Hard references… yippee Kai yay

Where can I obtain those "non-impact rated" terminal brushes?

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars johnaclark1 says:

As a side note…I believe that hose is for cooling the motor using air from the blower, not for condensation.

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Aussiebloke0001 says:

Not all connectors are heat-shrinkable and the connectors you were using don't look to be of the heat-shrinkable type.If they were, they would have shrunk very quickly. This is to avoid soaking joints with too much heat. If you do find a cable where the solder is melting, then the wire gauge is probably wrong. Solder should not melt under normal use. Personally, I prefer to solder, even in crimp joints as it stops corrosion and debris getting into the joints. I know it works because stuff I built in 1980 is still working after nearly 42 years in the harshest environment – space – where temperatures go from one extreme to the other every 90 minutes or so.

Hi there Ray John Reece From UK ama 30 year served Mechanic with the Britsh Allied forces In Berlin LIke you videos and the amount of electric ratchet being used keep on Trucking ( Click ) give me a shout out in one of your future videos.

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars scallums says:

Typical solder melts between 360 – 370 F (180 – 190 C) which far exceeds the temp rating of the insulation covering the wires. So you can solder those wires verses using crimp and seals and it has nothing to do with current draw on the circuit. Either are an acceptable repair. Crimp and seal connectors should ALLWAYS be crimped and sealed prior to covering them to ,"make it look better". to insure they seal properly. Another option would have been to stager the wire connections and then install a wire loom over the connectors. Bonus tip: A little anti seize on the battery tray bolts and hold down would go along way, seeing how corroded they were. Did the customer decline a replacement battery terminal?

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Kai S. says:

    HEATSHRINK!?

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John Reece says:

Ray Hi there often woundered if you ever use a normal Ratchet with sockets and not use the electric ratchets Oh and I enjoy youre videos fantastic Regards ( Click ) from John Reece here in the UK.

resistor must be for the low speed settings

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars OldePhart says:

That yellow part of those strippers is the wire stop for making consistent strip lengths.

  27. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars cengeb says:

Just think in the time it takes to swap the motor stuff, in the assy line, and entire dash board is pulled into position, bolted in place, several connections made, and dash is in…repair the part in a dash is always more work

  28. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars cengeb says:

Those splices look like the ones that are heat shrink and are water tite

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars cengeb says:

Yeah that resistor connector block looks bad, for being outside under the hood, doesn't look water tight, cheesey, Ford quality is Job 1, nope, more like 23, VW has the resistors inside behind the glove box out of the wet and dirt

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars cengeb says:

these videos have now cost me few hundred dollars, got a Milwaukee 3/8 battery ratchet, and a 1/4" Milwaukee battery ratchet….

  31. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars cengeb says:

Great videos always, watching people do real work, while I sit, and critique, arm chair experts, we know all.

  32. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars cengeb says:

Maybe that's why if failed, under the hood exposed, lots are behind glove box, inside, no wet, no corrosion

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars cengeb says:

I have never had a blower motor go bad ever in 25+ vehicles over the 5 decades, and I drive a lot, easily 1.5 million by now or more, the resistor might be bad, i had one of them go bad, but that makes for just single speed, no control, but it still works

  34. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars cengeb says:

Why do people bring a car in for repair and fill the inside where the repair is needed, filled with crap, like they live in the damn thing

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Teardown Dan says:

Solder can handle any current you want as long as the metal-to-metal distance is short and there is plenty of surface area between the two pieces being joined, both of which achieved by twisting wires together for manageable wire gauges. What it cannot handle is high temperatures (200+C for most tin-based lead-free alloys) which would be fine here since solder joints are on the wires, several inches away from the hot zone.

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars D Sloop says:

Re your wire strippers. The yellow plastic piece is designed to be used as a wire stop so all your wires are stripped to the same length. It's adjustable.
