Plastic is the name of the game in building Vehicles these days, I remember my 74 Olds. Cutlass, it had 5 mph impact shock absorbing Bumpers-front and Back and my wife tested them often, backed into a pole, no damage to Bumper or car, another car rear ended her at a stop light-bend their Bumper Bad, no damage to our car….
I love how as soon as Ray started dismantling the panel, the light decided to remain on the whole time. That’s Sod’s Law, it happened to me with a visit by the Neff technician to my kitchen to fix a an intermittent oven control
I had to replace the heater module on my '00 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I could tap on it and it would work for a while. When the back light would go dim, I knew the unit wouldn't work until I "talked to it". A used one from the salvage yard did the trick.
For anyone who does any interior work, grab a set of trim removal tools, plastic of fiberglass. I turn my own wrenches when I can and have torn my hands up SO much worse and more often om plastic crap than under a hood.
Man, I wish I had the cash to get flustered over a flickering light on my A/C control panel… I'm just happy my headlights come on when I flip the switch on my 95 Sierra 1500… lol
My son and I are just about to replace the infotainment head on our new project car. It's been ages since I've had to pull this sort of thing apart (he just got his license which is why we got the car). This video could not have been better timed for us, thanks!
Getting worried about you rainman, this is the 2nd video in 48hrs that you have had a groundhog repeat "two screws on the bottom and 1 up top in each corner".😁
It looks like you did this with everything powered up. I would think disconnecting and reconnecting those modules especially the radio one when powered up would not be a good thing.
Always turn the power off when changing any electrical or electronic components, this will reduce the amount of failure of said components on reinstall. Other than that, a fast and easy repair. (With my electronics background, I would have troubleshot the actual led failure, it looks like a cold solder joint, but that's where I go a step further in my repairs and the cost is about the same, if not cheaper in the end.)
My Dad always told me that over tightening a fastener is like too much glue in carpentry. It doesn’t do any good.
Boy, watching this stuff built on the assembly line must be like building Lego kits. Snap, snap, snap, drive it

Fine motor control in your hands is 20/20 Rainman , high 5 !
Old plastic can be restored with heat or boiling water.
Enjoy your videos.
OK. Try that on my ‘92 Ford.

Thought the vehicle was out of warranty? Reason why I'm asking is you're returning the old module.

Plastic clips= Professional Grade🤣🤣
My 18 & 19 sierra & silverado both have this problem.. a/c and defrost lights
Ray – if you could detail year and make of vehicle, and maybe the problem found, would help many of us with searching.
450 miles out of warranty isnt a coincidence thats just profit gouging
How many bolds on the panel. Dint here it the first time
Just put a piece of black tape over the bloody light, SORTED 😂😂😂😂👍👍👍👍👍👍 much cheaper

I’ve done this job before
450 miles out of warranty, but replaced a part under warranty?
Common GM problem. My 2018 Sierra has the same issue. I'm just out of warranty too and will live with it for now. I believe the part runs about $150.
A+!
A 3 year old Truck shouldn't have electrical problems, come on GM
Codes everywhere, Awe yes, Chevy electrical
Awe yes, Chevy electrical problems
Warranty? Dealer ?
I have been binge watching Ray .. cant get much done
Its a shame that mechanics can't aford the vehicles they service
I like my jeep commander. It has allen screws holding it together.
It's probably a 60k truck and yet it's got all that cheap plastic trim. Go figure!
Great job
Yeah I am "Crawling under the dash to replace a bulb" old.

Mechanics these days, the light is bad, let's replace the whole damn thing hahahaha
Whose idea was to replace the whole thing rather than just the bulb?
plastic tabs are the enemy of humanity.
Why after i made sure to plug everything back in, I still hate myself? Did I do it wrong?
damn on my 2001 sequoia I change a bulb!
Great job and video like always
