Egad! Fix it Again Tony! Reminds me of a kiddie car. Not a Jeep.
Fix It Again, Tony
You got lucky. the accident loosened everything up for you.
Sorry, Ray. You MUST do the phone thing! It's weird when you don't do it!
Love your Angry Pliers
I wouldn’t own a JEEP even if I was paid to. What a piece of crappy design engineering!
Aren't the angry pliers european? lol
Holy Crap, a PC. of Plastic Holding a Strut Up in its Socket, Very Disappointed in Jeep…
Needs all your "wobbly bits…
In Norway we call your "angry pliers" "plummer pliers". Back in the day plummers used them all the time on fittings and copper tubes.
So what’s the issue?…..😂👍
And regarding the plastic retainer for the strut tower……(EPIC FAIL) !!!!
I love your love and appreciation for both Europe and engineers… Soo, is there anything starting with E the you do like?
“Going very easily!”: famous last words, indeed. In my ERs, anyone saying how ‘quiet’ that shift was going was eligible for a head slap. NEVER challenge ‘worse’, as it will then go to hell.
Jeep hasn't been Jeep in nearly 20 years and even then there were questions. And plastic parts to hold up instead of a bolt? Yeah, this is why I don't buy most European cars as they're going plastic. I'll stick with the Hondas and Toyotas.
Hilarious part is my old 2003 WJ got into nice wreck about 6-7 years ago. Box truck ran down passenger side. No frame damage. Was basically just doors and panels to replace. Been off road since then. They don't make Jeeps like they did years ago.
Your boss is ok with you doing repairs one-handed?
That is definitely not a "Jeep " anymore! Love your comments! 👍😁
Over in England Vauhall (part of the Gm group) at the time used the plastic locking ring on their astras and Zafiras I’ve never seen one fail but we do keep a set of them in the workshop just in case
buying tools suck…been there done that for 38 yrs …thank you for the videos!
What a dumb idea holding a strut in with two pieces of plastic.
Is there a reason people don't use the old tie rod tool that resembles a turning fork?
Greetings from Europe 😂
it must not be trail rated
That front suspension and steering is very much like a late 80s early 90s WV
Why do you hate all engineers?
Plastic ring holding the strut to the frame? Hey we now have plastic oil pans, so what's the problem?
Wow what a piece of Fiat. That strut retainer isn't under that much load, but a clip together piece of plastic? No thanks.
Sold on the angry pliers. Gonna have to get me some of those.
This stuff is designed for the dealers to make money on. jack up the hours to fix it all a bunch of junk
Joe – Remind me NEVER to buy a Jeep or as my friend calls them (Cheep) – 😉
I remember a point in time, even though I didn't like Chrysler, the grand Cherokee was the most American vehicle by using the most American parts. Oh my how we have fallen from grace…
"Check alignment"… seriously?
OK… it's not real good. …
And, it's all downhill from there.
🖒🤠
So I know I'm late to the party on this one. But I am curious. At the beginning it says this is a body-shop job. Now, does that imply that the car was totaled out and the body shop is putting it back together and will resell the SUV, probably as an R title? Or is it that the body shop doesn't want to do the heavy lifting, only the cosmetics? Because I would the body shop should have detected the problems with the subframe being shifted? That's not a trivial issue. I would think the insurance people would know about this stuff, as well as the body shop. I'm just sensing this is a fix it as best you can because it's being sold off and sent down the road. And wouldn't the collision follow the VIN with something like Car Fax?
Bluetooth suspension
The wheel will be the last thing to go on
With such a large hit, is this car even still roadworthy?? I’m no mechanic, but makes me go “hmmmm..”
Imagine that, breaking a "Jeep" by running it off the road. I remember when breaking a Jeep was hard to do.
Don’t always blame the engineers, because they are directed in most cases to make these kind of insane decisions by accountants and executives that are in it for the almighty $$$$. Most engineers know right from wrong, but do as they are told…something I have heard you say many times.
"Check wheel alignment. " Ya think!
Jeep/Chrysler products over the last 10 years are absolutely crap. Throw away type products after about 100k
Ray, we have a 2018 kia soul, 95,000 miles. Have you ever heard of all 4 injectors getting stuck open at the exact same time? Supposedly NOT commanded by the computer? Just curious because it sounds a little fishy to me. It did have the dreaded fuel rail pressure problem about a year ago that I don't think was fully resolved. Related maybe? Just looking for opinion, I know you don't have the car and all of the facts.
Plastic strut holder … Wat. Is this car disposable after 5 years?
Need's More Cow
Bell!!!
I’m not a mechanic. Was thinking doesn’t anything ever go wrong on these videos. Then bam! Yes. Because I always run into a wall when working on my car! 😎
No longer a Jeep, now a Jeep-shaped FIAT with plastic components. So sad.
That plastic piece to hold the strut scares me tbh. I do not like it one bit. But I am also not an engineer. however, I also do not have much faith in the auto engineers in the last 20 years for obvious reasons. lol
How much do mechanics have invested in tools? The shop doesn't but the tools?
Fiat, they ruined jeep. Junk, built to fail. I drive an 82 CJ-7, a REAL jeep. It has outlasted several of fiat jeeps already. Over 1 million miles on it, but yes, took 2 engines, 3rd one in it now
that thing got jacked up so bad all the bolts are lose……
I always hated racking those little tiny Jeeps….
