My Chrysler town and country won't start if it's parked nose down downhill. Even with a few gallons in it. But coast it to level terrain and it's fine.
They just announced a verdict in the Johnny Depp/Amber Turd case. Gotta go! (Just kidding)
Wonderful things still happens hey.
If got a suzuki engine that wasn't made by golems they can last over 200k and buy dirt cheap used.
love your mechanic talk
How terrible these cars are engineered! Everything is mounted in front of something else. One would almost think that it is made that way on purpose in order to prevent repair.
Like changing a starter on a 2012 Duramax
Not heard you 'Doo Do Dooo Do Doooo' for a while – I love that, even started doing it at home!
Suzuki should of stuck to making motorcycles only
I've been a diesel mechanic for 34 years and you must know interstate batteries are junk.
wait is that thing just a chevy? it looks very gm like…..
wait is that thing just a chevy? it looks very gm like…..
Suzuki should stick to Bikes lol
Side mounted V engines are the bain of my existence
loved my XL7 unitll about 70K miles, then it was the worst car I have ever had….
Check the fuel pump relay for heat damage. I had a bad fuel pump on a Ford Focus and saw that my fuel pump relay plastic had melted little.
Look at that nice copper coated stud.
Good thing you didn't have to change the headlights. You have to remove the whole d?!* front bumper trim
This car has the exact same steering wheel as my 2008 Chevy Suburban, what gives?
Sorry Ray but if your going home just because you have a bit of sinus pain …..come on man up!
Good stuff! I do think the charger should be on the battery while you're doing the alternator work.
The clips on the fan shroud do have a purpose. They were designed to keep you from removing the alternator
There would have been so much more cussing if I was doing this job.
The S logo took me back when everybody had the jeeps
Always check your battery conniptions
Hey Ray. What should be a good rate to pay someone to replace head gaskets on a Ford F-150 302 EFI? I have everything I need as far as the parts go. I just need the labor.
if that was my vehicle , and I found you had to remove the alternator to change an idler puller , I think before I put the mongrell back together I'd cut a quarter inch of thread off that damn bolt lol
That car was filthy
Ah GM… Keeping Mechanics fed for decades! LOL
Ray(in the 3rd person) wins again! He fixed the car
It"sinwarp drive now
Im giving it all she/s got captain
Great job Ray
when you said pound car with mallet…I laughed out loud
If an alternator picks when it wants to work it could have spun the bearing by the bushes could be that it's just losing signal from the battery etc and having spun bearings can cause it to brake through the plastic at the rectifier and can temporarily push the bushings up and out of the way to stop extra carnage
Slightly related but not really kind of… I had a '78 firebird with a 350ci ground up rebuild. I put it all together and assembled. It was my senior project in high school so I was somewhat dependant of my old man for funds for parts, and he had a hard on for reconditioned alternators. A few months later and 5 reconditioned alternators later I finally had enough money from my PT high schooler job and I shelled out the $$$ for a brand new alternator. Boom problem solved never had charge issues again!!
PS: 🖒🤠
That’s not the way to remove someone else’s alt. Moving wires way too much!! Future issues!
The rubber grommet perished on my belt tensioner causing the pressurized piston to pop off. This wasn't immediately visible or noticed. Result: Mechanic replaced alternator, engine sounded like a diesel, power steering was "iffy", and air conditioning compressor seemed to be on the way out. I got the car home, started watching YouTube videos, and eventually found the .45 cent problem. Sheesh!
Love your videos! What is your favorite rechargeable work light? Thanks!
whoever change out the battery grounded the battery and may burn out the alternator regulator…
I thought Suzuki cars were thrown away cars after use like socks.
It has often been noticed: why does the clear coat come off, or the whole coat of paint on a car? Because of the sun, or because the cars aren't polished? You rarely see that here with us, and when it does, it's in the red paint.
Those battery terminals were grubby, I’d have cleaned them up and smeared Vaseline on the posts before re-installing.
Wouldn't it be good if vehicle manufactures considered maintenance and repair requirements when designing machines
You always seem to have the camera in the right spot. The Stephen Spielberg of mechanics is you.
Always remember your left handed wrench will say 41 and your right handed wrench will say 14 .
