Every body is angry, , , Full moon times ? ? ; )
Aren't you affraid that the wheel bearing could be dammaged by your hammering of the disc rotor ? ? ?
I need to buy stock in the break cleaner company.
Little tip from the north, a light spritz of WLG on the hub goes a long way for preventing the rotor seizing on like that. Guy probably goes to the beach frequently and the salt water causes the corrosion.

Taper seat helped.
Wow. That was one rusted POS! Great work Ray! 😃
Curious why you didn't just bake the shoes off? So no more interference by lips that may be in there considering the front was really bad the back probably even worse. 🤔 iv always backed then off when seeing rust or heavy wear.
It's so crazy how it really does come in waves, with everything
"Italian tune-up"? I have to hear this one. LOL! Please explain.
I have a Ryobi 18v electric I use allot, it gets to around 35lbs. My air impact hits 90lbs on the mid setting
Did the same thing today after hours at work. nothing like that though
Edit: I should have mentioned it was on my own truck.
cant be stuck if its liquid or cut in half…..
I would have enjoyed watching the door being fixed.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK PAL
LOVE YOUR HUMOR…
Don't it have adjuster
Do they have a hole on the back of the backing plate with a rubber grommet you take off and you can adjust the shoes like on a Ford van
Then customer wants know why cost so much for labor
Why do you not loosen the parking brake adjustment to gain more room
Yeah it’s weird, Monday and Tuesday, everyone that ordered paint from me wanted a shade of blue. The week before everyone kept ordering some kind of white.
Took me hours to get off my rotors
It looks like there is a drum brake combined with a disc brake. Can anyone explain that to me? Never heard of that before.
All that rust gives me anxiety. Not too much of that here in arid Colorado.
What about the door then? Seeing another brake vid, kinda boring.
If people would look at there millage and disc today you can see most the brakes today. If not pull the wheel off at 20,00 miles and look. When my pads are about half gone I always replace my brake shoes and anything else that needs it. I have gotten over a 100,00 miles on original disc brakes if you watch whats going on. You may have to turn them once at 50,000 miles if they have gotten work harden. Wait to long and this is what happens. Hard to price brake jobs you never know what you are gona get into.
I'm wondering why the parking brake shoes were not replaced while the discs were off? I would have thought it would have made sense to change those too, to save going back in at a later date? Can someone let me know why they weren't changed?
Looks like this Southern Jeep has been doing too much Beach Time, that salt water hates Metal…
Dorman guarantee is it should fit or very close to fitting!
I had a similar problem with my 96 GC but i was fortunate enough to close the adjuster, still was a PITA, i spent over 100.00 in factory Jeep ebrake parts like levers, etc. to make mine work 100%, since it was so old cleaning the rust wouldnt have lasted
This 100% looks like the rear brake job on my Wrangler. Even down to having one drum stick horribly and the other pop right off.
Ray's workout routine for today – LOL
Just to appease my OCD, drive that bad boy in reverse for 2 miles. Get a nice 88,888 miles
I wonder as ki watch these parking brakes would it; better to partially apply park brake and drive a short distance before starting job.
Ray i'm curious what hand held lights you are using, those would be really handy.
Driving through salt water?
“The hinges do not hinge” 🤣🤣 I laughed way too hard at this. Thank you
The Phenomenon is Called, "Synchronicity" and related to another Phenomenon called, "Resonance".
What’s really shi$ty is the fact we pay the government to de-ice the roads and still use salt to do it, then your vehicle winds up looking like that. So essentially your paying your local government to destroy your vehicle. There has to be a better way to de-ice roads, but salt is probably the cheapest and hence why it’s used. I just moved to Michigan and my Jeep is already starting to rust, I miss Montana it’s too cold there for salt to work so they don’t use it which makes vehicles last longer.
That is an awful lot of rust, even for a Florida Jeep. (Never call a Jeep a car). They must spend a lot of time at the coast. For information the top half of the Jeep hinge has a pin driving into the circle of material. The bottom hinge has a steel bushing. Most of us that remove the doors remove the steel bushings and replace them with delrin bushings. I have never seen a hinge so rusty that the door wouldn't open. They must not have opened it for a long time.
Yes, it comes in waves.
Some years ago I had a customer order an alternator belt tensioner for a 3.2V6 omega. I had Never ever sold one before.
Later that a day someone else ordered, guess what, an alternator belt tensioner for a 3.2V6 omega. not the same car. Different chassis no.
Never sold a 3rd one.
Wish you were in Arizona!!! I would hunt you down and make you work on my 89 vette and 156 Lexus and 16 sienna and 21 Mazda (when it needs it!). I love the attention to detail!! How many mechanics will remove the surface rust before installing a new rotor!!
ray . why so little help , when asked from . co workers
Reminds me of a gimble bearing I had to replace for a customer in his boat. It had started making a noise two weekends before but they didn't want to bring it in until their lake vacation was over. Needless to say what normally took 2 minutes to pull took a day to cut and bust into pieces so I could remove it due to limited access in the transom housing. It wasnt my fault he destroyed the bearing but I was a crook when I gave him the bill and I gave him 4hrs labor. Usually a 3hr job turned into 12 and it all could have been avoided if he had called us when it first started. There's a lot of people who own cars and boats who shouldn't… 😂

It's SCS, Stuck Caliper Syndrome!
