What kind of dealerships are near you? I think this is the third vehicle I seen that the “dealership said . . . “ then they outsource the work to another shop. Can dealerships even work on anything? Or do they screw up just that bad?
Those aluminum wheels are crap! That's all I have to say about it other than NEVER run over curbs and potholes!

Obviously it was at the Mercedes dealer and they removed the tire to access the damage an didn’t put the inside of the rim back on. Probably needed to roll somewhat. Why didn’t anyone put the spare tire on? Mercedes was probably pissed when the customer took the car back! 😂

That's crazy! I was driving mine yesterday, seemed to be shaking a bit. I decided to check the flex thingys on the drive shaft. They were fine, but the tire that was going bald actually had steel threads sticking out in a couple sections on the inside of the tire. I think that was the shaking I was feeling. Changing the tire now. So I will know if it is riding smoothly again soon.

Whom ever at the Mercedes dealership that did the evaluation for the insurance had that wheel off and took the parts f the rim that were missing to keep them from doing even more damage. How that tire was holding up one corner of the car is wild though.
Using an impact gun on the mercedes wheel lock is a great way to fuck up the lock key and the lock, leading to people like me having to spend an hour and change drilling it out.
