love your videos bro… let er rip tater chip!

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars The Snipers Nest And More says:

Imo in the end the pressure was high because there was too much oil in the system.

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars The Dramanator says:

Looks like a job for Mr. Subaru.

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Roy Johnson says:

Would love to see where you put all the parts as they are removed. How do you keep track?

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Black III says:

The TXV is where the "phenomena" takes place.

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars JeepGuy904 says:

wow, a swivel without electrical tape? Must be new

    POINT TWO POUNDS

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars xshanghu says:

Do they deliberately block access to some parts. In my 55 Ford, everything was right there.

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars dvsgraf says:

Im not sure why you would guess at any process you are doing. You obviously work in a major shop that has either alldata or Mitchell. Maybe its for views

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars RGP says:

I have learned that I do not have the correct temperament to be a mechanic; but I do enjoy watching your videos.

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jamessmack says:

Funny thing is people buy this junk and think they are good cars

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Geordie Gixxer says:

Welcome to "Subaru land" where there is very little access space and everything is tightened to 300 lbs/ft

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars extricate 1 says:

my dad was a mechanic for the better part of 60 years…for 40 of that he specialized in auto hvac. compressors….hah, try doing evaporators on most cars. like, removing interior, dashboard, and stuff in the engine bay…to where you can reach through from the passenger compartment into the engine bay. he cursed a lot lol.

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Barclay says:

Cars been around old replacement battery.

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars eric kestner says:

bolts don't line up, karma said leave the oil IN the compressor.

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dustin Taylor says:

I was literally saying to myself I would have to mark how the brackets went on and then he goes to put in back on and I’m like NO wrong way lol.

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars scratch says:

I dont get why they have to make this stuff so complicated. Do they sit around and think up new and exciting ways to scree things up

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dennis Smith says:

You know, the engineers could have just easily designed that compressor and mount with the bolts on the top and made it a 5 minute job to change the compressor. They should be publicly flogged.

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Chris H says:

2016 Subaru Crosstrek, never have I worked so hard to remove a hub bearing. Not a fan of the Subarus.

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Julian P says:

I understand you guys are so used to engines and the neat little tools but looking at you get to those awkward tiny places would just cause me to give up but I do have an interesting question for you on this car. How can a Scooby (Subaru) garage tell you your Cat converter is faulty and its going to cost you a new engine??? I know Cats are expensive but how the heck can you jump to that conclusion?????

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars dennis duran says:

Aren't you supposed to coat the green AC gaskets with oil first.?

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Joseph Lombardi says:

    They r o rings lol

  27. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Andrew F says:

Where can I find one of those offset ratchet that go on the extension

  28. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Konstantin _ says:

BMW usually describes such things in the repair manual "for clarity, it was demonstrated on a removed engine" ..

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Gerry Carmichael says:

I've rebuilt more than a dozen scoobies. What you wound up doing with the compressor braket is the easiest way to get it out. I never reinstall the right rear bolt because it's a pia. All of those accessory bolts (a/c and alternator) are locktited at the factory (thank you Subaru).

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Roy Johnson says:

Like a wise engineer at Beechcraft once told me on a factory tour: “These machines are designed to be manufactured at a price the consumer will pay. Only the government will pay for maintainability”.

  31. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars T Smith says:

Maybe those bolts should be color coded

  32. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars L. Romano says:

I enjoyed the aggressive .2 pounds voice over 👌

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Steve Warren says:

Good grief! Remind me to never buy a Subaru.

  34. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jim C. says:

Ray, how do you keep track of which bolts and nuts go where? I see that you put them down somewhere (out of my view from your camera). When I disassemble components, I try to organize the fasteners on cardboard, laying them out in the approximate orientation they were originally. You put fasteners down so quickly that I think you've either got an impeccable memory or you're using an organized system I just can't see because it's off camera. Ok, I just saw you put the compressor mount on backwards. Never mind. I don't feel so bad now, because I do the same thing sometimes. I am improving though. If I realize I won't remember how something was assembled, I take a photo prior to disassembly to help my fallible memory.

I like how you removed the bracket with the compressor instead of trying to remove the compressor from the car first. Very clear, experienced, organized thinking!

Thank you for your great videos!

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Henry Cole says:

An Ex-gf of mine swore that Subaru cars were the best? All be it, a girly type car

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Rude Dogg says:

That was easy, I wanna see you do valve cover gaskets on one of those freaky pieces of oriental engineering

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars TK H says:

Theres alot of what id call "unnecessary enviro-freindly crap" cluttering the engine bay on newer subis.. the secondary air pump is a prime example.. throw that shit away lol😂

  38. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Steve says:

The dumb design of that compressor is part of the reason I was driven out of the mechanic world. I got tired of all the swear words I was inventing working on stuff like that

  39. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars James Thornton says:

well is the valve bad or not???

  40. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars industrialistic says:

Subie's are a shade-tree-mechanic dream. So easy to work on. I owned so many and loved them all. I wish subaru would bring back the Baja or the Bratt.

  41. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Stucc0Dude says:

yada yadda yada POINT 2 POUNDS!!! yada yada

  42. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars no name says:

dumb question? don't you have reference manuals?

  43. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Paublus Americanus AMERICANUS says:

I do like Pitah. Help when you need it with no questions asked is invaluable. The other technicians in your shop might feel lower quality than Rainyday manski. Makes them feel inferior which may or may not be the case as your shop seems to fix other shop's mistakes.

  44. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Gerry Rig says:

Did You Also Changed The Drier…

  45. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars wskripka1 says:

Why did you have to replace the Pressure Control valve ? Was it bad ?

  46. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Chlorate says:

Subaru seem to be pretty good at designing incredibly stupid mounts for things. Can't replace the air filter in my '11 Legacy without unbolting the ECU.

  47. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Thomas Schleis says:

I always use clean gloves when installing o-rings. That was a major fail here.

  48. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jesse Martinez says:

New sub. I don't know how you remember what bolts go where. I guess that's where the "Rainman" comes from.
