  1. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ray Garrett, Jr. says:

The door panel not being re-installed properly following the last repair (You showed "Someone having been in there before") could have been the very issue that caused the motor to burn out. The lip could have been providing unnecessary friction which, over time, put too much strain on the motor

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Paul Airola says:

on my 2001 Lesabre the driver side widows don't work, we changed the door module and switch and chased wires under the drivers carpet . Any ideas, we also checked fuses and all good.

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ronald Johnson says:

'87 Chrysler New Yorker window motor was almost identical. If you here the relay click, don't waste time checking wiring, it's the motor.

GM are notorious for electrical windows/lock probs.I've had a '63 Electra 225,'77 Grand Prix SE,'76 Catalina, '84 LeSabre Limited, and an '87 Le Sabre and the only one that did not have electrical issues was the 1963 Buick Electra 225.That's when GM made good cars.I'll never
own another one.The only reason I is electrical problems. It's a bitch when your window is down and it starts pouring and the window won'r go up. Great video!

Good job on the video. I have a 2001 Buick LeSabre. Only the driver's side window works so I replaced the Master controller and that didn't fix the problem. So now I'm going to just replace the three motors thanks again

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Richard Wright says:

Place an Amp Clamp around the battery cable(s) and measure current as the switches are manipulated. No current indicates an open circuit that can be isolated further. More current on one motor relative the the others indicates something binding in the motor or door assembly. This can then be followed by Voltage checks at the motor. Quick and relatively easy.

Thank you Sir! We'll done video! Helpful and fun to learn.

I hated those kid safe windows. Never felt right when I was in the back seat. Had a 91 Ford Probe, the passenger window kept getting stuck. Turned out the motor/regulator was a fortune to replace so my mechanic just stuck a screw in there to keep it rolled up. Mostly I drove alone so it wasn't a huge deal. Then one day the driver's window ZOOMED down into the door and refused to come out and play. Lived with that for months until I tried to beat a monster storm home from a friend's house 13 miles away. There was a 1/4” of water in the back seat foot wells. The inside of the hatchback was wet. The storm stayed with me and stopped raining when I hit my driveway. I was as wet as if I'd fallen in the pool. After that I found the $300 or so to get that window fixed.

You and me maybe the only people who carefully remove vapor barriers. I recently carefully cleaned all the fossilized glue off my 98 accord's vapor barrier and replaced it with new butal tape, very satisfying. Got the "sticky" back.

Ps: I saw that "caveman" as well.

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Brandon Link says:

I had to do this on an '01 LeSabre, rear window probably hadn't been used in 10 years or more, hit the down button by mistake, tried to roll it back up and the motor was dead

If a broken part has screws, it's just begging to be taken apart!

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dan and Yong says:

You're answer of why someone's been in there may be to install the new door! It appears green/teal in color on the inside. Car was in accident?

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars William Nunley says:

    G

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tim Lyons says:

When you were testing the window switch, were you connected to both grounds to light up the test light? Or did you clip the test light to the power wire and probe the ground when operating the switch?

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dano C. says:

How easy was that? Now a days you need to remove the whole regulator to get the motor off. Or maybe it's a GM thing. None-the-less, I wish they were all this easy.

Hey brother! Any idea why my passenger frt. window goes down by itself when I start my car? I replaced the drivers master switch assy and still does it. It doesn't do it all the time and when I activate the lock button on the master switch, it doesn't do it….

  27. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars mariekt says:

Whoops, who could have known healthcare was so hard? Late nite T.V. Won’t be the same without Trump. Nice video. Just having some fun😄

  41. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tbone productions says:

At least with Trump in office now, we’re all going to have really, really cheap insurance and it’s going to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. AND it’s going to be so, so easy for him to get done.

  42. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Q. Tech says:

Really like your channel. With that said why are you using that old skool test light? You must have some type of power probe style circuit tester. It would have made finding the problem much faster

  43. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Robert Openheimer says:

you should leave little notes for future archaeologists and or mechanics to find. Kind of like kilroy was here, but in this case EricO was here.
