In this video I have a look at a customers Dodge Avenger with the big 2.4 that has a customer complaint of the gas cap light being on as well as a complaint of a bad bearing noise coming from the front wheels. It ends up being a text book repair for both.

All right folks, we're inside a 2010 Avenger 123 302 on it. Find the data Lake connector here. Apparently the money light is on. Got it? We're gonna see what, uh what code's in it here.
Pretty smoke outside today doing the three key flickeroo wait for a scan tool to fire up. Nothing's coming up on the dash. it's a bunch of dashes. Oh, it says gas cap.
Now it says gas cap. That's what's that. Tell us we got an EVAP code so let's see what code is in it specifically and then we'll see if we can't fix it for this fella. And he also says he thinks he has a noisy wheel bearing so we'll take it for a shake.
Nice thing about the Canadian wildfires and the skies being pretty hazy as we don't get glare. So we have a large EVAP system leak po455 loose fuel cap so should be a pretty easy one. All right, let's go take it for a rip here real quick. Let's see if we do hear a noisy wheel bearing foreign bearing at this speed.
we'll get out on the big road, give it some swerves here and see if we hear anything. try some different speeds, try to go by. definitely hear something in that right front when we're swerving. Some kind of weird scraping sound going on in that right front look at that when we pick it up on the lift, see what's going on? All right.
It's got the big two four. Um, so a couple things I think of on these. when we think of, uh, large evap leaks is we can have a perch valve that's not has no flow, you know, so the purge valve isn't turning on. We could have an actual leak, you know, missing gas cap and stuff.
but typically when they come here they've had four or five gas caps and you know, parts put at them. And then the other thing that's really common on these are the Esome switch. So the Esim Esum we call it Mission System Integrity Monitor Uh, it's a switch in the back of these vehicles on the charcoal canister that when it pulls Purge on the system, that switch goes closed, changes status on the scan tool and we can see that and then it, you know, calculates how long it stays shut and so on and so forth. It's it's a little more complex than that.
Uh, mic over at Uh Wells EV Uh, Go check Garage Gosh. I'm losing my train of thought this morning. the smoke. That's getting to me.
Uh, he does some great videos I'm trying to link those uh fantastic videos on Chrysler and GM and Honda and Toyota He does a really good Evap videos, explains in depth how the Esum system works. Uh, it's not a very complex system so they're usually pretty easy to diagnose. What we're gonna do is I'm going to get this thing up in the air, see if we need a wheel bearing kind of visual inspection on the EVAP system. see if we you know see anything.
Is the gas cap missing? Do we see any big splits and hoses? purge valve on these lives way down by the steering column shaft where it comes out. real terrible spot to get to. Um, we'll have a look at that and then we'll go from there. So this is a bad wheel bearing. happened to be on the driver's side. you can hear it. plus it's loose. I would have thought it was on the other side the old visual.
it's got a metal tank on this little guy. not really super Rusty either. I Mean the car is Rusty but it looks like uh, exhaust hanger here or something. At some point somebody out on here fixed.
It's pretty well melted in half. Oh it looks like yeah, they might have rigged up a muffler on here so maybe it was dragging at some point. Uh, here's your canister and here is your famous eat some switch. A lot of times the connector will be corroded right off them babies.
We're gonna leave it alone right now. we're not going to touch the connectors electrical connector there, but just seeing if we see any big anomalies drains plugged up here. Nothing to do with EVAP system, but I believe it's a couple of drain on these. let her get stuck in them and then it potentially could flood the inside of the car if that gets plugged up.
So it's fixed. Now it's got a half a chance of raining out anyways. Still more junk up in the airport to run some water through it to get it out because the drain above it. that little drain there.
That's for the HVAC This is for the wiper. cowl. Still got some junk up in there. Okay, there we go now.
I Can't go into two. Let's have a look now. she's clean baby. That is where the purge valve lives.
Let's see it hits. So turn on that bracket the metal bracket there with the little red tab connector so that's where your proof developed. Lids This is where the perch line goes back to the fuel tank. So yeah, this one here is the field.
Line This Is The Purge line here so that's where we can hook on if we have to do a smoke test, which usually these don't have an actual real life leak. Oh, doesn't even have a new gas cap on it? What the heck? Got the lids clean? O-rings still in place? There's our monochromatic friend Mrs o It's toughness. Yeah. I Don't know.
Oh okay, you just need you. don't want to see these people. I Can't see those people. Oh a tree.
Welcome to my world. So tell you what we're gonna do folks. we're gonna pop back out of here live data and then we're gonna pick. The Purge I think I Turned again.
Let's see if we want to pick the Esom ES I am use some switch and then we want to pick Purge p u r I got pretty Duty Sacco Purge airflow Purge mode We're gonna pick Bridge duty cycle and then I don't think I don't think this one has a fuel tank pressure it does not so newer Chryslers do so we're gonna pick this go show selected. We're gonna fire it up. Okay, it's interesting that it shows The Purge of 1.99 first duty cycle. Technically it should be a zero.
I'm gonna add we're gonna add RPM on here or engine speed I guess it'll be listed under to make sure our data pit is live. Okay so right now we're purging at 17.8 percent. One thing I want to do is we're going to unhook the purge valve hose down here. We're going to make sure that it's actually giving it some sucky sucky. Oh look at that. you need some switch when it closed I Was gonna say we're going to check to make sure the Eason switch actually works and it does. So it's interesting. We may actually have a real life leak which is unusual.
So what we expect to see here when I was thinking that I was thinking our switch wasn't working. but here it is, it works. So typically it'll put on a perch the switch will go closed, we'll stop The Purge and we'll see how long the switch stays closed and then it can determine whether or not we have an actual leak. So being that the system looks like it works, The Purge works.
Eat some switch. Works See, it just went back to no. That's interesting. must be a massive leak if that's the case.
or the switch is being intermittent. what we saw it work, but where it's pulling that much? Purge I Would accept that switch should be closed I'm curious if we have, we might. Usually the switches are bad. That's usually what happens.
We pull a Purge on it. switch never goes close though. He says no and you know it's just a faulty switch. So that's kind of curious.
We saw it work initially, so that's why I was going to tell you. that's what we're waiting for. Put a Purge on it. switch goes close.
We see how long it stays closed. So that tells us if we have a leak. It's a pretty simple system. Uh, what I would say at this point we either have a really massive leak or we have a switch that's gone wonky.
which is what I would suspect more than anything. So let's shut it off. Um, I'm going to unhook this real quick. I Just want to hear.
let's see if we actually make sure the fruit is working. So I unhooked the line from The Purge I'm just going to hook a little nipple on it here so we can see if it's pulling vacuum. So I got the right size one here I Feel like sucking on my finger I Just wanted to make darn sure. Actually, we're going to leave this.
uh, we're gonna leave The Purge line right off from it I Grabbed the Avoca smoker. now that we know it's purging for real. Oh, look at that. So we'll switch the front back closed again.
Technically if I unhook the line off the perch, it should say no. So I'm gonna I got the line hooked back up even though I told you I unhooked it I unhooked it and now it went back to no. Okay, I'm gonna hook it back up. oops I clicked it on too far.
We'll give that a second and that switch to change the yes. So it did. It's like Katy Perry it's yes and it's no, it's hot and it's cold. Get it? Sorry, It's the best Katy Perry I've got.
So what we're gonna do I Suspect I Still suspect we have a bad switch I Would be surprised if we had an actual leak. For realsy work on a lot of Evap systems. work on a lot of Chrysler A lot of GMS rarely do I see leaks on Chryslers so we're going to take the tip off the Avoca smoker. I'm going to unhook the line again. Oh I don't know if that's gonna fit. Let's see if we can't get it stretched over that standpipe there. I'll show you guys here in a second. Oh, we're in.
We're gonna hook her up to something positive. We'll must have one of them big thumping stereos in there. Now we need something negative. Now we need an air hose.
We'll turn it on. Now this system we can't seal like Boop push a button and seal because it doesn't have a canister vent valve. It has the esome switch which closes under pressure and closes under vacuum and a very specific amount in the very light amount. Uh I Don't know what the what the values are but they're low.
Um, you know so many inches of water it mechanically closes but then it can also bypass beyond that vacuum. And Beyond the pressure like I say check out go Tech garage. It'll give you the skinny on that so that's where I hooked up right down there. We uh, unhook the purge line from where it goes to the back of the vehicle and I hook my smoke machine to it.
Yeah, we got it right here. gurgling away. Of course you gotta recept that. So let's raise this baby up and plug off the uh vent there in the back.
Oh, it's pitching. Turn this back out. Yeah. go back here.
See they have some smoke. We roll call now boys. We're gonna pinch this little guy out. It's like pitching off of brake hose yet you don't get as many comments.
Okay, so that's pinched off now. we're gonna let her sit here and smoke away. We're gonna keep an eye on our flow gauge that should start to come down if we have no leak. Oh she dropping like a rock to drop them quick.
I Didn't think we had a leak, but we'll let it sit here and finish filling up. We've got a bad switch. I Almost bet you on it if you're a Gambling Man You don't have a smoke machine. You got this code in your car.
These things are like I don't know. 30 bucks? Maybe just take a big fat guess, but you got to be careful on these. Avengers Because that purge valve. Okay, we're at purge valve sits.
You know you can't see it from down here. The problem is the shift cable. Okay, so the shift cable comes out here. You can see how it's kind of rubbing through on this, uh, engine mount.
See how that Cable's just about rub through there. How it rubs through, it goes around and it actually rubs on the purge valve also. So there's the bottom of the purge valve and that shift cable rubs a hole in the bottom hose of The Purge Belt Very very common on these cars and that'll also set a growth evap. Fleet code or sometimes it starts out as a small unit bleed code.
This one's already been changed on this car. Yeah, our flow gauge is almost at the bottom. I'm probably not going to sit here and wait all day for that to get down. Uh, we don't have a leak. We've seen our Eason switch working on and off. A little bit tells me out wiring going out to the front is likely good. We likely have just a failed switch. Uh, because like I said, they have a weight and a spring in there and they mechanically stop at a certain point certain amount of vacuum.
This one clearly is going wonky. One thing I Want to check though before we get too carried away. If we get all carried away is to see if the connector is all green. A lot of times they are, this one is not, but quite often on the back of the switch the plastic will be all broke out and it'll be all green.
and so sometimes you have to get the connector too. That one looks okay. And the other warning I can give you a be warned if you're using an old version of altel. the Alltel data pit for the Eason switch for many, many years did not work.
It always says no I've probably told you guys in the past it almost cost me an ECM once. Uh, but fortunately I was smart enough to try a different scan tool because I didn't believe it. But uh, there we are new. We have folks flow gauge Zoe at the bottom smoke machine done full blast.
no leak. All we got left. Now to do is write the estimate uh for the wheel bearing and for the Esom switch and now it fixes engine light and fixes growling noise in the front end. The other noise I guess road noise you have driving down the road.
You still running four snow tires on this thing so they're pretty noisy. but a lot of folks do that around here because we have more winter than we have summer and we'll see if we get the job. Or maybe he's going to do his own work. or maybe he knows the guy who can do it cheaper.
but either way we'll uh, we'll give them estimate and then so stay tuned. All right. Lucky for us, the guy said get after he's a gator done, give an estimate. he was happy and hook this baby back up under a book of smoker.
What kind of Kit did I use you ask? good question. Uh so this is the uh, maybe it's this one. Is one of these one of these nipples here if I can find it I don't know which one I use one of the straight ones uh to hook up to that purge valve or to that hose rather so we could see if the purge is working. so this is a little bit of Kit put out by Red Line Find it.
Boom there it is. Smoke Machine quick connector kit there's your part number made by our friends at Redline It's a great bit of Kit I Use this sucker all the time because more and more cars don't come with a little green cap. You know that you hook up with the with one of these little guys so these things just grow dust anymore it seems. Uh, because we're unhooking, we're just tapping right into the purge or wherever we can if we got a hook in back at the canister.
So this comes all kinds of little fittings. Great bit of kit. so I always keep this around here. keep it right next to the Avoca smoking. it's okay if you guys want that. Uh, the guys that get after it. uh maybe I told you that got parts coming. We're going to start ripping and tearing before uh, things show up which is always a No-No but we'll see.
hopefully. Napper Who doesn't sponsor us? Uh, does it? Let us know and everybody will be happy. Um, we're gonna start over here on the driver's side. This is when the super duper Gooseberry the bearing on the passenger front when I spin it I'm about 90 certain that one is noisy over there.
This one's obviously noisy and loose. I Explained that to the guy what my feelings were and how I felt deep in my soul. He just said change them both which is a wise idea. So we're going to do that.
uh, procedures the same on both sides. So guys I'll show you this one. No sense in showing that one over there. Uh, brakes are brand new on this thing.
Looks like a relatively new caliper, pads, rotors so that's going to save us some time. We'll just peel off the whole caliper and Bracken all in one shot. Looks like probably an 18 mil. a little meter.
So I'm getting some tools there putter in. Reverse We'll come back here. There's one bolt for the bathroom. Oh wonderful bolts for the back if we're doing it like the cone on.
Sesame Street foreign hook. remove your rotor, give it the customary Twirl in your hands, give it a look. She's clean, smooth, new looking and let's get a 30 or 32. Oh yeah, first try Sweet 32.
Batman Oh baby. no backing plate and it looks like the bolts that hold this on are probably a 15 millimeter variety. at least the head is. The bolt itself looks like it's a 10 millimeter.
You know what I mean. Come on man. I think it's 15. It's just enough.
girl. you're crusty. There we go. We're good.
Well, she sprays two ways, almost like me in the morning. Flip your sprayer down full, liberal douching of this. There you go boys. There you go.
All right the two-way spray and we're gonna see if we can't get this thing to crack loose. Oh, this guy just forgot an extension. I Don't have the car up high enough to get you guys under there, but you'll see. You'll get the gist.
We've probably only changed three or four hundred wheel bearings on this channel. Get that on there. Oh yeah, that's a good job. that's a good job.
Phil Now we just need to do that three more times. WD Really makes that bolts come out easy, Don't it? Wait, it just penetrates in there. I Probably could do this with a crescent wrench at this point. Oh please give me that all the way, dude.
you're falling out. You're using headphones. Your volume all the way up. What a jerk Wd-48 doing so Good for you Now Is it? Pals Need an ugly doggie gun? Foreign.
There's one. Now we just need to do that. Three years more times foreign bolts are out. We'll try to give it a little tap. Sometimes the little guys have come right off with a little tap and sometimes they don't. Let's get down here. Oh ho ho ho. that could have been ugly.
Oh you sucker, you're gonna keep missing. Okay, we are getting Debbie D down in there as well. Plus, we got her coming off of cockeyed. Oh there she is.
boys anymore. I Don't know why. foreign to make it shiny. Oh boy, she's got a mind of her own.
She must need a little WD thinking if it wasn't needed, you know she saw Steve Stop Boys! How did this happen? And it's quite close enough I think the little trigger's stuck in there so she needed was a little Debbie D Ude that stuff will cure the common cold I swear she'll tighten that jam nut back up there. Well, we're going to get some tools. Oh wow, yeah, we'll take the jam nut up. Should be good as new.
Wow. that escalated quickly. See if this one works. Hey, speed sensors in here so don't go Walling That thing up all right.
Looks good smells Smokey out there. thank you. Never showed up with our berry right in the middle of the sneezing fit folks I Can't stop. It's all this Canadian Smoke is thick out there today, boys thick.
It makes me Sneezy it makes my throat scratchy. We're gonna put some blue Loctite on these bolts. about four of them. Get the other three here.
Ah, bad enough for having allergies. The Canada sends out all their smoke or it's the government one or the other trying to block the sun to kill the machines. you know you guys watch. The Matrix right? That could be what's happening.
So there's that. We'll get these babies in. We'll torque them down to factory specs. of course.
Typically there would be a backing plate on this car and that hole. this hole and went down here somewhere is you know, three bolts hold them little guys on, but typically they rust off. You know people? Just say forget about it. You know, forget about pump that Cricket Boy foreign.
We're going to the 720 inch pounds or 60 foot pound. However you look at it, there's that one. Oops dropping the watch. gotta wait for the other Napa to show up.
We got stuff coming from two different napas to do the other side, but they said they're going to be a little while God dang it. my nose is running, my knees are weak, can't see the standard model two feet well. My hands are steady ish. So there's that.
She's all torqued to factory spec. We'll grab that nut. this nut. we'll spin that on with the other gun, crank her down as tight as we can get.
Torque level one we forgot. Oh hey, easy dude. enough on there for two of you. A little blue Loctite on there.
Even though there's some oil on the threads, we'll find a torque wrench. we'll Jam this one down to 1200. foot pounds, inch pounds, not foot pounds. We ain't got that much lead in our pencil there it is. Double checked it tiger type. Let's get our rotor, find our fluid film here foreign to keep it from getting crusty. Man, this rotor is like new. Nothing to clean out on the inside which is great.
Whose lucky day is it? It's our lucky day. Let's grab the one why they call them lug nuts. You ever think about that Wheel nuts I Understand lug nuts. Oh wait, is this Us goes on the front? Idiot.
Oh, stay. the hose will catch it and grab some lactate here now. I Gotta move everything because I already removed. You guys put a little bit.
here. are those the lugs and that's the lug nut. Never thought about that. that's super deep.
hoping to get all philosophical on you. That's probably not even the right word. Foreign these babies down to 108.5 Newton meters. There it is.
or 80 foot pounds I think it was for you. Americans And there you go. put your wheel on Jammer down to 100 or so foot pounds and call it a day. Once your wheel bearings are done, tighten up your wheel.
We'll come back here. Give that a push. There's a little release tap on the bottom of this thing. push it out and boom There it goes.
Take it off and give it a shake. Drop that sucker right smack on the floor. It comes with a new o-ring What we're going to want to do is just come back here and have a look see it sits up in there. She's usually pretty clean.
Grab yourself some natural blood herb still Glide one or the other. they'll probably both work Lube up our o-ring off camera Where you can't see it that way, you can't criticize it, you still kind of. That's okay. We'll give her a full looping around on the sill Glide We'll stick her up.
There should get a light so I can see what I'm doing. Give it a little one of those click and another click and another click. Three clicks. wipe off your greasy prints.
I'll make it a hundred times worse. now. let's go see if it works. If I just pick up.
Come on, We haven't cleared that or anything. Got our data right there. Open our door. Let the Smoke in it's pretty hazy out, probably already done video and then we'll just sit here and wait.
Here's the part number on that switch. Eat it. Then we'll wait for the purge to kick on and we'll see if the switch goes closed and actually stays closed. What? During The Purge event kept the camera rolling.
As soon as the purge valve kicked on, the switch went closed and we're looking for that status to stay at. Yes, it's going to run through, you know, a few tests and check for gas cap, but usually it doesn't do that until after a uh, a refueling event. But I think it's pretty safe to say that it's lunch time noon whistle going off. but we can see now that during a purge that the Eason switch is closing, we know that there's no leak in the system, so we don't really have to do much further.
But um I think if you guys rewind, you'll remember that it was switching from yes to no. It was like Katy Perry remember made a corny dad joke so that's it. shows over. Let's take it for a wrap. Here we go folks. Make sure you pump up your brakes, push back a little bit, let's hit through the smoke. Oh it says it's 47 degrees outside. That can't be right.
It's gonna be at least 65. no more noise. That's good. All I hear now is tire noise to be expected, but you almost can't see the end of the Hill that's not very far away we're heading North now and that's that folks.
a couple wheel bearings. fixing the EVAP system on your Chrysler like I said I'll link the video there to the NGK go Tech garage Wells EV Whatever they were at the point they made those videos. Uh, my guy Mike Becker smart dude made some fantastic videos on Chrysler EVAP system. So go check that out so you know how they work so you can know how to fix them.
Or just take a guess, change a couple parts. you'll probably get it. Uh, you just got a couple parts and a few wires. It's getting hard to breathe.
little smoke throwing in. Hopefully they put out Canada soon. It's just kind of nuts man to see. uh, the visibility.
less than a quarter of a mile? It's kind of. It's kind of weird. Never seen anything like it. Maybe it's the apocalypse I Don't know.
I'll get a bug out bag ready and why don't you guys bug out in that comment section questions Comments: the NC the Facebook you know where to find us not on Tick Tock though that's an imposter and when we do find them, well, you know and that's it. And just remember viewers, If I can do it, you can do it. Thanks for watching foreign.
How many mechanics would have looked at the cowel drain? Great job Mr O.😊
In NH they'll fail the state inspection without backing plates. Whatta joke.
Just a few calibrated taps with the magic of WD40
Hi Eric. The bolts on a wheel are called lug bolts from an old English word. Therefore the nuts that go on are called lug nuts. Sorry, that's the best I can do for you. Keep up the great videos and commentary.
put some oil in the air fitting to lube inside the sander and all air tool
Aren't all penetrating oils the same. Seriously, lets all grow up.
Great video Eric! The lunch siren is funny
Sorry aboot the smoke, eh
The way you say money light. Luv it and always makes me laugh
full of the sillies today. love it!!!
When test driving do you ever get pulled over for "erratic driving"? If so, do the cops ever go "oh its just you?" and wander away? 😅
I'll be honest, I never knew you could spray the 2-way WD like that. I just assumed it was marketing thing. lmao
If wishes were horses, we'd all be riding, I'm wishing I had access to a competent mechanic down here in south jersey such as you are.
No charge for the free smoke Erik
A few drops of marvel mystery oil in the air inlet of the air tools helps greatly.
“south main”
I’m curious on what north main is like?
Do we no speak of those people?
Haha that buttery sign hanging from the rear view mirror is comical.
She sprays two ways………just like me in the morning!
I needed this one I have a money light on for the gas cap on a ram 1500. I just ordered a new switch.
Man those bolt on wheel bearings on the front wheel drive, is to die for. How many compact, mid sized cars actually come with bolt on wheel bearings up front?
Why do we watch 500 wheel bearing videos? Because occasionally we get to see a tool explode. Keep it real Mr. O.
I notice that when you change a wheel bearing, you always change the hub as well, is this because it works out cheaper labour wise as removing bearings can be a mother of a job ? How do you work in the cost of brake cleaner, grease and Loctite, is it hidden in the labour cost, as a friend of mine threw a fit when he was charged £5 for WD40, he asked if they used a whole f*****g can on his car ?
Rented one of these on a visit from Europe in 2010. Biggest pile of shite I have ever driven
aren't chrysler the clever ones. greasable steering ball joints & wheel bearing that do not require suspension dissembly to fit them.
that smoke is seen in Spain apparently
that smoke is all the way down in west indiana
Eric have you not yet bought the astro 1833 and 1834 90 degree swivel impact? Absolutely fantastic impacts and I don’t think I’ve seen them in your videos yet
I see GM has taken a play from the 70's name files for models/ the avenger was around in the 70's over here wasnt a very good car bit of a pleb a shed saloon
Funniest video I've seen you do. Turn your volume all the way up. Lmao
I'm pinching off right now
Every man can relate to your two way spray comment. When your aiming at the water but not hitting water things typically go from bad to worse when working in the dark LOL
Have you ever been pulled over suspected of drunk driving?
👍 hope it's cleared up around there. I just drove south from DE and we didn't get out of smoke until around VA. Thanks for sharing!
Please don't call Chinese garbage Loctite. Loctite is far superior. It's the only one made in USA and is the only one that makes their own polymer. Every other brand is Chinese garbage.
?: How much of a discount do the auto parts stores give ya? Compared to us mere mortals. And by "ya" I mean you, Eric.
Top form!!
GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!
The Count from Sesame Street – what a throwback! Love it.
U R de MAN
Loved how he said she got a mind of her own bangs get on the wheel of the car tries wd-40 and than when he goes to turn it on it breaks in pieces😂😂😂
Why do Americans have to change their way of measurements to accommodate everyone else we are to nice.
Great video.
"lug" is "a broad-meaning word used for things that move slowly or with difficulty".😊
I love your trolling the WD haters 😂
also almost got me with the headphones bit.
Maybe it's because I'm from the northwest but I've never seen a swoopy "buttery" dangling from a mirror before…not one I expected to ever see.
I see the customer runs a radar detector on the dash . Boy I have not owned one of those in 20 years . I never felt they helped , the police would keep making the one I owned obsolete. The were illegal in Connecticut.
Used to be only Big lugs were able to remove lug NUTS….. now-a-days any lug can do it. P.S. there no charge for the big Canadian Smoke…
"Rip & Tear" Heavy metal music starts
Gravy! X 2!
Eric, as far as I am concerned, you and Rain Man Ray here in Fl, are the 2 best at Diagnosing/fixing todays modern vehicles! He who can't laugh at himself once in a while is wound up to tight! You are a genius! Does Mrs O. help to keep you grounded on those tough days as all of us married guys sometimes need someone to talk to when that problem vehicle drives you nuts!
You are on Tik Tok!
The word lug is pretty overloaded with definitions (see Wikipedia or Webster's) but when it comes to physical things a lug is generally something that protrudes from a larger item. So yes, a wheel stud could easily be considered a lug and the wheel nut would be a lug nut. Thanks for wondering about it, Eric. And for sure, the "shmoke" from Canada made the NJ sky seem like Mars for a day or so – it was pretty weird.
😂 the brake-clean douching-from-a-distance had me fall out of my chair. I came in here just to see how many people complained about how expensive brake-clean is.
Omg…302 Tacos for money light..smoked fajita tacos 3 key fliparoo and and hot sauce exhaust
On behalf of all concerned Canadians, please accept our apologies for the smoke… it has something to do with our prime minister and his alleged father Mr. Castro… not to mention that the Chinese communists who finance his blackface gigs. But he was such a nice and popular black boy in his youth… so sorry, eh?
That Canadian smoke is from all those EV cars on fire.
What is a lug?
A handle or projection used as a hold or support.
A lug nut because sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't…🤪
Money light 💀😂
I always wondered what was wrong with Automotive engineers? Why is it they can't figure out what size bolt to use the hold certain parts on cars? If a boat is sticking out the back side 3/8 of an inch or quarter of an inch just out there in the air to get rusty what exactly is it holding in the air? What what does make disassembly 10 times is hard!😢😢
dubya D, not a sponsor; although Eric never said "not a sponsor"
Another great vid! I miss your road test music, though.
Lol the way you're acting those wildfires must have hit a few marijuana fields!
How about some air horn action for the 3am half asleep guys watching?
The air gets like that in California when there are forest fires. Cant see the sun.
pee joke was funny!
Central Michigan has had a problem with the Canadian wild fires.
I love how I spray the stuff on my bolts and after letting them sit overnight, the bolts come out bone dry in the threaded area where it dried up so as to not leave a mess. Bonus
Just want to convey my gratitude in showing me that esum plug and that drain , I own a Avenger here in OZ and do all my own servicing due to the collapse of Chrysler here ( bloody stellantis) .
Wheel bearings on a rear wheel drive used to last a lifetime with a couple of packs, even if you replaced them it cost a couple of bucks.
😂Locktite on the hub mounting bolts stopped your noisy air ratchet, serves you right you bastage lol.
I did the ESIM on my T&C minivan. Had a P0456 code. I didnt have a good scanner or the avoca smoka so I fired the parts cannon. I replaced it with the carquest one because all of them both OEM and aftermarket seem cheaply made. The carquest one has a lifetime warranty. Cheers.
Astroglide… lube that ring LOL. Enjoy the videos thanks for the laugh!!
I think the smoke may be coming from some crop fires!
Eric, if you rotate the winter tires so they are now rotating backwards, that’s the “summer” direction!!
Nice work as usual! thanks Mr. Eric. Say hello to the wonderful and always beautiful wife. Cause it’s Fathers Day…haha.
Sounds better than it did
So, why do manufacturers put the PCM in the engine bay? The PCM in my Subaru is in the car cabin, which I think is a much better placement; it's protected from the elements!
I like "click" so much better than "beep".
Can't see his hand in front of his face and Eric can still see his way clear to make the correct diagnosis. Another "smokin" success!!
I think the lugs were the pieces that clamped the rims on a Dayton style hub.
I wonder if their called lug nuts from the use of a lug wrench.
the smoke is bad I am in Chautauqua county ,, lost my voice been going threw chloraseptic spray it helps ,, live up on a hill ,, few miles from the lake this smoke is bad ,, great video ,,
Jeep has two entries, Nissan three. All of the others, except for the Toyota, are not surprising.
If any of those buyers just watched Scotty Kilmer's YouTube Channel, they could have saved a lot of money and effort. The Toyota C-HR has long been a dog in the Toyota lineup. That's why they have plans to discontinue it. It is great for delivery services.
The smoke is an every year event here in Australia, either from preventative burning during winter, or bushfires during summer. Apocalyptic, indeed!
Dodge Avenger is a total piece of crapola. The electrical system was designed by a drunk, a drunk with the only objective is to confound any service tech as to the precise location of the electrical fault. NEVER by one of these cars! You have been forewarned of the Junky-mobile flies that this car attracts.
You need to squirt some grease in the head on that angle die grinder, there should be a little ball socket on it to grease it.
🇲🇳
When the die grinder died I laughed so hard my ribs hurt.
I love your sense of humor. Almost laughed until I cried!
Fiat POS Crap but TY,,,,,,WOW incredible very interesting great information super kool,
AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++ again great video I liked it a lot ,keep up the great work.
Astroglide. Not a sponsor
Seriously crazy as can be big fan nite to future episodes….. don’t turn it up
Glad I watched this video – I have a front bearing on my '05 Ford that makes a little bit of noise on left turns too. Not as bad as this one though. Just like Eric I swore it was coming from the right front wheel. I'm going to replace both bearings once it sounds as bad as this one. Thanks Eric!
