I love my Dodge Avenger but I am not looking forward to replacing the battery 😂 I never understood why they put them there great place for wire corrosion

Second time watching 7/24/2020
The OM for my Stratus, says that the battery can be removed without having to remove the wheel. Didn't work for me. Not enough room to get the battery out.

Were the cables long enough to allow the battery to be flipped when reinstalled? That would place the negative terminal on the near side.

What a huge pain in the ass to change a battery.
Proves I know nothing. Looking at the bottom of the battery when you put the new one in. I would have sworn that it needed to go in a little more. Looked like it was sitting on the edge of the tray.

i put my spanner on the + and touched the body work and it melted abit off my spanner instantly and It flew across the room. can you do this to show the viewers please?

Is there enough battery lead to let you put the battery in the other way around, so the negative terminal is at the end where you can easily disconnect it first?
Don't they provide insulation boots to go over the terminal assemblies in case something fall down there?

I love some of the comments…Battery under the fender…Hell, that's nothing along side of some of the things in newer cars today. You can't poke sarcasm at one brand because they are all the same, YES all of them. Replacing a battery is all in a days work. Worried about removing your spare tire from underneath your late model Caravan on a shitty (it's probably flat anyway) day join the AAA or CAA. I'm a mechanic and i belong to the CAA. Ya think i want to change a tire in a snow storm when i'm dressed up or get shafted with the cost of a tow?

What a design snafu! I bet they engineered everything then thought "oh crap, we forgot the battery!" Then they installed there….. Great video. I'm glad you don't return calls. It's nice enough that you film your work for the rest of us to see and work on our cars if we have the right diagnosing tools. I worked for Advance as a second job. We never did Chrysler. Only under the hood. Usually no Wi-Fi m Audi or Mercedes. I have an A4battery is heavy. I have issues remove and installing because battery is heavy. I'm big and lift weights. I've never re-installed hold down bracket pain in butt and battery weighs 80lbs no point

No Advance doesn't change battery's on a Chrysler or light bulbs.

WoW, wonder how you jump start that car when the battery goes flat?? That must be the most stupid place for a battery ever. At least in the boot youd get access to it.
that is a silly place to keep a battery.
Why do car manufacture's put things in awkward places, answer to make money out of the owners what DIY mechanic would want to change this battery especially in 6ft of snow, whatever the weather it would mean lying on the ground, and would probably be in the winter as this is when most batteries fail.
Our friends at DCA (since it is a 2008) dropped the ball with the battery placement! At the very least, the orientation of the battery should have been reversed, so that the negative post is outboard, so the installer does not have to disconnect the POSITIVE first!
If the negative cable was meant to be removed first on that car model, the battery would have been turned around so you could actually get to it first.

This would be a deal breaker, I would be pissed finding this out!!! Car batteries only last 18-24 months in the desert….
If you're thinking about calling Eric and leaving a message, don't bother him, bother me. I will give you the auto advice you deserve. For example, here he sprays the terminal nuts to loosen them up a little. That is a waste of penetrant and could damage your lungs. To safely get some purchase, lever your wrench against the other terminal. Battery terminals are located specifically for you to do this. If you get sparks it means you're not holding the wrench tight enough against the terminals.
