How much MAF cleaner is enough?
How much of the problem would have been solved by simply blowing away the fluff that got into the MAF? I'm asking because it was the title that caught my eye, and I just bought some CRC MAF cleaner yesterday. I don't have a OBD2 device to check the results; I'm just hoping to improve my gas mileage.
I think your price was fair. You fixed the problem, and made sure it was really fixed, including a test drive. The cause – in this case some fluff – doesn't make a difference. It would be very different if you had caused the hose from the air filter to come loose on a previous repair, but that's not what happened.
Related to the charge: the car owner could have done it himself and saved. Mr.O always says "if I can do it, you can do it." He really could have done this one.

Ugh. Significant exhaust manifold leak (that 'Ford thunder' you heard on startup) can lead to fuel trim issues as well.
Had a few 5.4s in the dealership with modified intake tubes/oily cone filters on them that the tech finally convinced them to swap to OEM air intake parts instead of spending more money chasing their drivability issues.
Fuel trim reset is 'clear KAM' on Ford OEM scantool and I believe SnapOn as well.
Very informative. My repair shop wanted $600 for a tune-up which included cleaning the maf sensor. But, I did it for only $100, including the cleaning, replacing plugs and wires and it only took me all day. My time is valuable just like the mechanics. Next time, I will probably bite the bullet and let someone else do it.
My 2000 corolla had a lean issue, cold starts it would start and stall right away… once or twice then stay running no CEL ,no codes🤬… the 99 uses a TPS while the 2000 uses a MAF. After a month of this starting issue and me scratching my head, the CEL/MIL came on, lean code. I cleaned the MAF sensor, never happened again.
Even visual inspection down the flute, could see one clean sensor and the other resistor was filthy. Visually cleaner after using sensor cleans. Toyota using MAF sensors are known for this.
You have 12psi baro??? Sealevel is 1 bar or 14psi….that doesnt seem right. I have a hard time trusting inputs

I don't think that's a good test for how well CRC MAF sensor cleaner works, as indicated in the title that that is what this video is about. Usually that's for stuff you can't necessarily see, not for obvious problems like a dandelion seed. First take tweezers, compressed air, something like that and remove that dandelion seed, THEN see what happens after that. Just MHO. But I'm still subscribed 😁, as of today, because your video, this being the only one I've seen of yours, is entertaining.

It also has lean codes.
Gmc Sierra, it runs good on start up but then after a bit, it doesn't want to drive anymore, pushing gas pedal down, rpm just goes up, and gears don't change.
Turn vehicle off then back on and it does the same.

New iacv and EGR pressure sensor, it was done. I'll put map sensor on tomorrow, should cover all the codes I had
I have the same codes p0171&0174 on my 03 ford E150 4.2 v6. My freeze data shows 25% on long term at idle engine warmed up to 190 rpm at 854. I give it some gas and the short terms drop to the negative digits meaning vacuum leak. But I'm stuck because if I let it idle without the air filter the shorts terms drops drastically and the percentage between both combined is less than 10% If I put back the New air filter the short trims go back up in theTeen's. Any advice I would appreciate. I did smoke, propane, water spay, visual and can't find no vacuum leaks. Cleaned the Mass air flow sensor, TB, changed the egr valve due to alot of smoke coming out when tested but nothing. PCV working fine. o2's are monitoring correctly.

That stuff worked for me yesterday. My daughter calls me and says her 2010 Chevy Cobalt won't start. She had been to work that day and came home and was going to go back out and no start. She said car would start for like a second or two and then stall. No CEL but I put my scanner on anyway and no codes. I had her turn key on and verify that the fuel pump was coming on which it did even though the fuel pump fuse in the under hood fuse center would never light my test light. I checked for fuel at the shrader valve and had plenty. I forgot to bring my fuel pressure gauge but it seemed to have plenty of pressure.
I started checking fuses with my test light and found that about half of the fuses on the right side of the box didn't have power with the EOKO and I didn't have access to a wiring diagram to see how these were supposed to be powered.
I decided to google search the symptoms for this car and there were several mentions of the MAF sensor. I tried unplugging it and trying to start it to see if it would run on some type of backup strategy which it did not. Luckily I had brought this MAF spray with me so I pulled it out and cleaned it very well. I didn't see any debris or dirt on it and it was the same style as what is in this truck. Re-installed it, plugged it in and it started. I shut it off and restarted it several times and it started fine.
I've not received any calls today from her saying it won't start so I'm assuming it's still starting fine. Luckily I was able to fix it fairly quickly because it was at the end of the day and I didn't have time for an extended diagnosis. I'm just a DIY'er so I still don't have a lot of knowledge on fixing these issues but I'm trying to learn. This channel as well as Scanner Danner's and Pine Hollow Diagnostics have already taught me a lot. Thanks for that.

Customers don`t realize what it costs the mechanic to be able to repair these vehicles. I just recently had to pay almost $300 to get the special tools to replace the front crankshaft seal on a BMW N54 engine.
Do you work on duramax? I had to replace the inlet air heater and that fixed the run issue but now do not have much power until turbo kicks in
