The radiator on my '99 Jeep Grand Cherokee fell victim to a stick. It's has had a pretty hard life beating up and down through our woods not to mention when the kids drive it. So it is time to show it a little love with a trip to Wilbert's Up Pull It of Bath and get it some new parts. Oh... and Mrs. O. tags along for the ride. -Enjoy!

I had to take top core support and condenser out to remove radiator on 4.7 model
2 out 3 used jeep radiators spin the nut in the radiator trying to pull transmission line rendering radiator useless.

I have done many 4.7 jeep radiators in that body style and they are no joke. Have not to one with a4.0 in it.

I delivered dominos when they first started on long island . your own car , minimum labor and tips. it was fun , I worked for N Y C T A as a mechanic , 11pm to 7am, deer park auto from 8am to 2pm , and dominos on my days off. was making mad money , loved it

Question. I heard you're going to put a bypass the oil cooler lines on your Jeep. My wife's 2001 Volvo V70XC has had this done by the previous owner(s). Car is primarily used around to grocery runs and other local errands. Is it okay to leave it as is or get replacement hoses?

You can do somewhat decent delivering pies. Its not a crazy good living but if youre single, with little obligations its plenty. I wouldnt do pizza delivery in a small rural town, due to volume and economic factors, but when I was in college I did pizza delivery in a major metro area. In 1998-1999, I could work a double shift (12-14 hrs) on a good Saturday and clear $150-$200 in tips alone. The base pay was $8.50 an hour, plus $1 per delivery (some people wouldnt tip and the chain built in at least that one dollar). The store didnt take Credit cards back then unless you came in person to pay. So it was all cash, and no CC tips. So lets just say the honor system of reporting all your cash tips in the computer was 100% followed to the letter of the rules 😉 . Then at tax time you took the .56 cents or whatever per mile deduction, plus whatever else you could get away with. Gas was on you though.
Factor in slower shifts like a Tuesday evening (gotta pay your dues on the crap days to land the prime weekend shifts), and occasional crazy unexpected good days like 3 day holiday weekends, bad weather days everyone stayed home, etc and I could work about 30 hrs a week and clear $500 in my pocket after gas. If I had a full week to just work every shift possible,, and at least 50 hours I could pull in $800 + no problem.Of course I drove a $750 beat up 1990s nissan car that got 20 mpg and had $29 a month liability insurance that didnt know I was delivering pizzas in it lol.. Alot of doing well at that job was knowing your regulars, and not being an idiot. I kept a tub in the backseat with a bunch of the condiments, plastic ware, etc, because the line prep guys never put the right stuff in the sleeves. That way when I got the house and pulled the order (Id take 3-5 orders at a time on busy nights), I never had to tell someone I didnt have crushed red pepper or parmesiagn cheese they specifically asked for. Our manager would make us go back to the house with missing items (as he should) no matter how small, and that just ate time, and made you look stupid, which affected tips on the guys who couldnt grasp that.
I had one dirt poor family who were regular and would request me to deliver if I was on shift because I always hooked them up. We got one free pizza per shift, and when I saw their order on the board, Id have the cooks make my free pizza and throw it on their order. They always paid for 2 large pizzas and one 2 liter soda (a regular promotion we ran), but they had like 5 kids. Dad was always paying what looked like their last dollar on a friday night to treat the kids and he was a blue collar guy that worked hard. About once a month he would tip me $50 ( I assume payday friday) for taking care of them. I never ate my free pizza anyway.
