  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jamie Letman says:

hey I dont have an air hammer or a torch hot enough to burn it off. i got the nuts off but the bolts are seized and two of them have rounded head before I even started. Please give me some advice.

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Izzynutz Restorations says:

Years ago I had my 1967 Mercury cougar that I wanted to jack up and put air shocks and my G-60-14 Cragar mags on and in order to do it you had to put the shackle extenders in… And I still have a scar on my finger where I cut it straight open trying to remove that on the rusty outer panel of that car 😵 pushing that hanger through my hand slipped off I cut my finger on the inner panel

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars crankytank says:

Where did you get that neato magnetic light?

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Johnny Versaci says:

Snap on air hammer always worked well for me🤷

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Martin Kucic says:

    What brand is big nasty?

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars TipTop Mechanics says:

All I can think when your cutting the head off the bolt is why you didn't get a drift and hit it out when it seemed to move so easily

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jesus Ramirez says:

What are the symptoms of a bad leaf spring bushing? My 03 sport Trac has a weird wobble when I’m driving and change lanes or hit any little bump.

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Walter Francis says:

What are things to watch out for on my 02 sport trac

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Drew says:

Did plenty of shackles on school busses here in Canada.. Air hammer & a torch were my best friend

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Keith Q says:

I live in Georgia with a 2000 Jeep TJ that doesn’t have an ounce of rust on her and I STILL put never seize on everything! Including my face, hair, shoes…

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Pat Jago says:

If you install the new bolts the other way around and the vehicle ever had to have it done again, you would have plenty of room for “BIG NASTY “

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Brenan Willey says:

I had this done on my blazer and I gave the mechanic energy suspension bushings with the grease it came with and wow much better than the rubber every 4 years they need to be regressed no more buying rubber again

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Final Hour says:

    Big Nasty is fun

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Robert Kohut says:

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Goat Moag says:

Man, I'm glad I watched your vid, I was about to push them bushings out, least on the spring side. That sure saved some work and headache. I think one of the best investments I have ever made was that astro master ball joint press. That c press is a monster and I think I have used it for everything but pressing out ball joints. The washer trick did the job, though a little less money to buy some short bushings too to take up slack also. The c press would have worked, but it was certainly easier and less wrangling that heavy c press to use the washers.

If that was a Florida Explorer the customer could do the job with jack stands and a breaker bar lol. I love how easily I can remove the bolts on my 2000 since it barely even has surface rust.

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Wayne Richards says:

Plus it looks like it needs new shocks and while you spare out put something to take rust on the frame

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mike TeeVeeDub says:

Mother Lover! I think you need to use a helmet respirator when using Big Nasty. You're gonna get COPD before you're 50!

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Hola! Robert D. says:

Hey Eric, your videos are a form of therapy for me. You’re so patient and persistent in your videos. I used to get really frustrated and throw tools and start cursing the manufacture and all sorts of craziness. Not quite sure what goes on after the cameras off but just so you know watching your videos helps me to remain calm when working on a vehicle. Thanks brother.

“ son of a monkey…I’m on fire.” LOL!

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars robin rousseau says:

I am surprised you do not wear a dust mask with all that rust dust flying around. That can be just as bad.

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars william arden says:

No clue why they don't make a CPC compound for vehicles. We had it for the aircraft eye I was in the military
Shit was amazing! Had three different types with the type 3 being the thickest, and longest lasting.

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars 1FNJO says:

Nice Air Hammer and great tips about cutting off the bolt heads and stacking the washers:-)

  27. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars 1FNJO says:

Though bolts best tightened with vehicle weight on wheels on the ground or an alignment rack, I would probably just place a floor stand under the center of the front cross member, and and screw jack floor stand under the back of the rear diff and jack the rear axle assembly up carefully until the vehicle starts to get a little light on the rear lift arm pads then tighten down the shackle nuts and bolts. Suspension bushings will thank you by offering a little more supple ride and last longer if the fasteners are tightened in the positions they naturally be with the vehicle's weight on the wheels.

  28. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Corbett Knowles says:

Those bushings and shackles are still a pain even in the south

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dirt Life Magazine says:

  31. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jack Jacke says:

Nock a hole in the quarter panel! : ) You need to turn on a fan when doing jobs like this Eric. Only need the low setting. I know it's cold up there and that makes you freeze…. But the dirt in your sinuses and in your eyes is nuts…

  32. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Duncan Mac says:

That was easy! Cool. Thanks for the video.

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars slowride55 says:

I have an old Matco air hammer that is an absolute animal. I was using some cheap bits and it broke one in half!

  34. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars eNaRDe says:

damn I just brought an 05 Sport Trac and I am on youtube looking at random repair videos. This is probably going to be one job I will leave to a mechanic. I am a home mechanic so I dont have a Big Nasty in my arsenal of weapons 🙁

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Hola! TheCoatneyadkins says:

what brand is big nasty air hammer? and part number? and does it come with all the adapter bits? I really need one of those big bad air hammers.

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Andrew McDaniel says:

does anyone know what size bushings these take?

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars BronzeChicken says:

Tip – Tighten the nut to begin with if you can, if it twists off, it had to come off anyhow, if the bolt moves, WIN.
