    These are nice trucks when you get all the Fordness out of em. I got a '78/'89 both f150s an I got rid of the efi on the '89. I had a '96 back in high school an drove the heck outa it an sold it for scrap I kick myself now. The '89 I have now isn't 4×4 like my '96 was but I always wanted to have the freedom to really get performance outa these trucks. There getting older now an rotting away.. most vehicles you see on the roads now are generally 2008-up not much 90s nomore. These trucks are ageing an what happens alot with them is the drive train is perfectly still fine maybe wornout but still good an the electronics fail an sensors fail an just being outside an temperature changes from hot weather to cold an moisture take there toll after 30 years nearly an they make the trucks either run funny or not run at all. I got rid of the ecm an ignition system an all the emission junk an pile of vacuum lines an my '89 will be much more reliable an run so much better. I also went back with a mechanical fuel pump. Electric is truly better I agree but I don't like a bunch of clutter an fuel pressure regulators an clamps on fuel lines. I like the fuel line to be 1 whole piece an not cluttered with clamps. You'll still have technically 4 clamps from tank to pump on block but I can't stand clutter plus less connects in lines are less likely to leak an in this case fuel lines it's safer fire hazard. Never liked fords plastic fuel lines so close to the exhaust. I bent up a 3/8 fuel line on mine an threw away that junk lol. Fords are nice like I mentioned just gotta get rid of the "Fordness"

    Fomoco always had a way to insure job security for the independent shops. Mounting relays and sensors upside down so they gather as much moisture as possible. I alway kept a known good MAP and a few relays in my diag. drawer. Customers love when you can fix what seem like big issues in minutes. I probably made more in cash tips replacing those MAP sensors than I did book time on the invoice.

    I have a manual 5sp 94 2wd 300 inline 6cyl. I changed my slave cylinder, and put everything back together. Now my tranny seems like it doesn't want to shift properly. I have to put the gear shifter into gear, but then I have to rev the engine pretty high to get the truck to move. This is in all gears to. Any help you can offer?

    Eric thank you some much for this video, my problem was the same when I looked and removed it I saw that someone had replaced it before so I was a little skeptical about replacing it, however, installed the new one, and bam just like that it fixed the problem, I did check for voltage but couldn't check the Hz, broke opened the old one found a lot of moisture inside, so now I will put silicone on it now, but wouldn't think they would put the seam on the bottom? PS look forward to your videos in the future and will be buying a tee shirt to help support your efforts.

    i have a question, Have you ever came across a vehicle that when cranking it over the engine seems to have no compression? It's like all of the sparkplugs are removed. Then 5 mins later it starts normal. This has happened to me twice. Once on a ford courier, every morning cranks like 0 compression then sometimes within 5 mins it starts other times up to an hour before it starts. the second time this has happened was yesterday on my 1990 f150 4.9 4×4.

    I was driving home two nights ago the engine just stalled like I turned the key off. first thing i checked for spark. Had none, removed the spout, engine started. I drove it home. Yesterday I put the spout back in, tried to start it, but it acted like 0 compression. I went in the house refiled my coffee cup. went back outside cranked the engine and it started up normal. I have seen some strange things in my 50 plus years as a mechanic but these two vehicles are mind blowing

    I have a 95 f250 with a Windsor n now all of once it’s at operating temps it breaks up bad like it’s out of gas or spark plug wires r grounding out, but if u give it full throttle it gets thru it. The truck was speed density but the engine harnesses was changed n was still plugged into a sd ecu I put in the correct eco n it was good. But out of no where this started this n I got home n it shut off n would not start no spark I said ok either the ignition control module or the coil ended up being the coil but put both new.     I had that problem with a 94 bronco xlt lariat 5.8 . I bought for 250.00 the guy said it need a new transmission and all it was two sensors the throttle position and map sensor and it worked perfectly fine.

    Love these Ford trucks from the late 80s and early 90s. Those 302 and 351 motors were strong as hell and almost impossible to blow up. Easy to work on, rarely had problems. Sure, you might have to replace the TFI module or a MAP sensor once in a while, but compared to today's cars I would much rather have one of these older "square body" trucks

I was going to be very disappointed if you didn't seal the bottom of the sensor because I would have, especially knowing that water got in the old one. My truck is the 92 regular cab 2wd with 236,000 but it doesn't look near as good as this one. Still runs like a top though.

    Hey bud I have a 92 Ford F-150 2wd 302 5.0 it’s the AOD transmission while in Overdrive it shifts into gear a little hard but I’m drive it don’t do it as bad but still a little harder than I’d think should be normal a friend rebuilt it and also besides the shifting a little hard when I turn the air on max it will bog the motor down for a second but then it will run fine and every now and then the check engine light will come on after driving it for a bit any help would be appreciated very much idk where you hook a computer up to read the code on it either thank you for any input you can give me!

    It seems pretty obvious this was a "technician induced problem" as that MAP sensor was designed to be mounted with the open side facing down- not as it was found. Adding silicone will not get rid of condensation- and indeed may trap it. The sensor was intended to drain mounted with the removed cover facing the ground.

    When this one slammed into gear would it ever kill the engine as if the torque converter wasn't unlocking? Specifically when cold? I have one that only slams into reverse, when it's cold it doesn't slam but it will stall the engine. When hot it will slam into reverse but doesn't stall. Already had the trans rebuilt and am about to take it back under warranty but I've been trying everything I can think of to eliminate electronic/engine issues. The engine runs pretty good, runs great under load but does have kind of an intermittent rough idle

    The symptoms you described were exactly what I was experiencing.
    One 7mm wrench and a new part ($50) made my truck run better than before.
