I wish that you had shown the fight getting the drums off.
Do you do maintenance brake jobs, my brother in said ever 2nd spring when he changes his winter tires off he does a cleaning to the brake parts. Canada heavy on salt use too. That would be a good video on Honda vehicle.
hi eric im new at doing brake jobs and what better person to ask than you. I am in need of the tool that cleans over the stud can you leave me a link to the one you use thank you joe
2 2022 Thanks 4 tips/reminders your presention pic's are clear to me. back 1970's my dreams were breake jobs, so it was nite & day work for me. Even product smells are re-played as I watch you. Being in my 80's the Dr.'s treat me as a old vehicle's needing artifical knees, hips, etc. Dr. uses some same tools you do.
Watching you work makes me feel alive again. thanks!
We should find the Florida version of SMA channel and have you two switch places just to see each reaction of each. You with no rust, and them with nothing but rust.
It appears New York destroys cars just like everything else! Man, the cars there are just rusty like no other. I guess east coast in general.
Good video Eric O @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
The classic valve stem in the Bango to stop brake fluid Spillage Nice Eric O @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
Lmfao the Whole Enchilada giver the beans Eric O @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
I would be careful mixing kroil, blaster, wd40 with other grease type products. It's nice and slippery at first then it turns as hard as concrete.
Cars in your neck of the woods need to come with on board sand blasters or fluid film sprayers. Yikes! Lol
Kids got a good point. Is theyโre all base rotted SHES on point. Unfortunately. Lol
My job.
Hey, I need brakes too. Lol
One of these days Eric, you are going to use Big Nasty to break lose stuck parts. The whole car will start to vibrate and shake, causing. a big cloud of rust dust and pieces to obscuring the car. When everything has cleared, there will just be a big pile of rust surrounded by four tires.
I traded a bike for a van from Chicago. I went to do the brakes on it and instantly sold that pos. Fuck all that rust bs.
I dont see how everybody can work in a closed garage while using a full can of brake cleaner,.. for me if i smell it for longer than 5 mins i get a headache or i get all light headed where my vision goes all blurry,. Almost killed me once when i fuckin passed slick the fuck out from a mix of starter, brake clean, carb clean, gas and burning diesel fuel.. passed out under a rack wile it was being lowered and dude didnt see mre. Luckily ole boss saw me on the cameras and ran out.. was on my shoulder and broke my collar bone so was close,.,
It just struck me that you are the Bob Ross of the mechanics world. Everyone is an artist when they have passion for their work and love their job.
Did any body notice the crusty distorted rear leaf springs. The new SMA rear brakes will outlast the springs.๐คช
Never thought I'd see someone use brake parts cleaner to clean brake parts. Does it work?
You may want to invest in a set of twist sockets with all that rust there!
Why didn't you change the rear wheel cylinders? ๐
No SCHMOO on the shoe!
She knows everything else
Priceless!
u – clip
Always found rear shoes are the biggest PITA to change out, especially those damn springs.
Love break videos because I'm not doing them.
Always nice to see Mrs. O.
I always hated replacing brake shoes
The official name of that clip is called " A THINGAMAJIG". Now you know.
Dude, the time with her will fly.. ๐
Good stuff ๐
Dude, safety glasses!!
Should of breakout old big Nasty…
Why don't you lube the pad tabs to hardware?you lube under the hardware?great channel you have and I enjoy the content but that just makes no sense.
Not using the right tools where's McNasty
Why would drum brakes ever be used alone? They are so complicated compared to disc brakes, and they work worse
If i ever get to the USA will be visiting SMA and Wes (watch WesWork)and Andrew Camarata.
Eric, you live in western NY…and hate rust?
Bwahhahaha…that's funny…
I drove a 1990 Chev S10 there from WA state, and sold it with a blown up motor for $800.00 . No one could believe it wasn't rusted completely out. Well, until they saw the license plate…
Dude please keep the brake videos coming, keeps a smile on Mrs O, your family is what matters
TAFFR
This was from only 3 years ago…Trinity was still being taught about analog time…now they stopped teaching it because "it's too hard" for the kids to learn it. smh
Polishing old turds. All I have to say is if it works, it works. Nothing wrong with polishing turds.
Nothing like the Never-Seize Grenade. Once you open it, It's everywhere!
Actually i've done more break jobs than i care to mention lol. I enjoy watching you do them because you don't cut corners and your an excellent teacher. Thanks
15.99 for socks ?is that a 5 pk?
in Michigan we just use the torch
I'm just a home gamer doing my own but I've done a dozen brake jobs. I learn from every one of yours I watch.
I used to fight the adjusters, now I use an old lisle brake check caliper to preset the drum, saves a bunch of time dickin with it
poor little ranger,,,, so much rust,,,, sheesh,,,, ๐
everytime you back up and step on the brakes to stop, the tensioner will come into play and turn the adjuster if there is enough slack,,, ๐
