Come along with Eric O. at the SMA shop as he goes through the procedure of changing a front hub assembly on a 2005 Buick Lacrosse. This vehicle has an ABS speed sensor built into the hub but some however do not. This is a pretty standard procedure for many makes and models of GM vehicles.

I trick I've learned, if you have an old no good rotor that fits the bolt pattern, bolt it on backwards and then start pounding with the hammer. It gives you a lot more leverage and surface area to hit!

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Toyota Tundra04 says:

My questions is not related to the GM vehicles. I'd like to know if there are there any manufacturer making reliable bushings for a 2004 Toyota Tundra upper and lower arms? The dealer prices for replacing the drive shafts, power steering rack and some of the ball joints cost more than what the truck is worth. I've seen too many bad reviews on Moog and the Chinesium knock off. In one of your videos, you use the Sankei 555. Do they make suspension parts, i.e., bushings for first generation of Toyota Tundra? Is there a complete assembled front axle hub out there? Thanks.

I bought a car where that spindle was all beat to shit from a previous owner doing his own wheel bearing.

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John Moore says:

what about that little hole in the hub between the two studs? could you put a bolt in that and use it to push the assembly away from the knuckle? or what that damage the aluminum knuckle too much?

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Daniek Smith says:

"what's up lady". This dude lmao

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Simon Nather says:

tork sticks. i think it was that you need a big impact for 900 to 1000 nm. if the gun is like 200 to 350 nm it dont works. it going to tight it harder.

best way i think is when you buy guns.. test the tork.. on 8 bars on all settings. and se if one setting doing 120 nm ……. then you know. and you dont need torksticks.

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Scotty Minter says:

When doing a brake job with abs, do you need to take the bleeder screw loose when pushing caliper piston back in?

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars pjimmbo jimmbo says:

Probably the same Hub assembly that my 2008 STS uses on the rear. I had one growling, once it was off, it was difficult to rotate it by hand.

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Belial Claytix says:

Fun fact: OSHA will ruin your day for using a screwdriver as anything other than screwing in screws… Even though they literally make demolition screwdrivers that are made to be used as light pry bars.

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Belial Claytix says:

I find it entertaining that it was that hard to take off the spindle but but on my 1994 Ford Explorer which hadnโ€™t had the bearings changed since they were installed, after all of the automatic 4×4 nonsense was out of the way I took the spindle nut off with channel locks lmao

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jim Dandy says:

Why do you put Loctite (blue) on the three bolts that hold the hub on? The bolts I've removed are always so freak'n tight I have to wire bush the exposed threads, then pray I don't snap the head off before it breaks loose, then work them back and forth on the way out while spraying them. I have the same question about caliper bracket bolts. I've heard it's not actually to "lock" the bolt, but rather to keep moisture out to make future removal easier. Would using Anti-Seize be Okay?

  46. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Zack Schulz says:

I know this is a very late comment in the game here, but I made a wicked nice caliper hanger out of a long, heavy duty pegboard hanger. I put it in a vice, snapped off the fingers in the back (the ones that go into the actual pegboard), and bent the rod. Been using it for years.

  47. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Not You says:

What? Safety glasses??? What is that all about? Real men don't need no stinking safety glasses! What's next? You gonna start using gloves full time too?
What is this world coming to!?
