I can not find this part what is it called
Under what circumstances does the circuit activate the solenoid? I don't have a tech 2 so how can I verify that the circuit is good?

why not measure to see if the solenoid is open with an ohm meter and if it isn't just rinse out the old solenoid?

Hi Eric I have this 449 on my 04 5.3 suburban just this code comes on but my question is would this part make my truck super rich you step on smoke pich black and the burns super rich can this be my problem it does it when I drive for to long full tank will be gone quick when it cools down it runs normal again black like a Duramax diesel engine what can I do to stop it thank you

This p0449 vent circuit on this GM, I have a ford expedition with a P0446 and the description is the same as this P0449.
My light has been on and off for awhile now does not want to idle good. How long do I have before it quits. Don't have time off for 2 more days
Interesting. My solenoid is new. Just bought the 2010 avvylanche. Good voltage, but ground is wonky. Need to determine why ecm isnt grounding it every time. Seems if i bring it inside from the winter weather and warm it up is when the fault occurs. Im at a loss, as its temperature related. Guess i need to find a diagram for the ecu.

I bought me an Evap solenoid for my 2011 GMC sierra 4.8l today, I have not installed it but the one they sold me at advanced auto parts looks different. I hope they sold me the right part. Yours looks like a small can attached to it the one I just bought looks fully enclosed and horizontal vs. Vertical 🤔

Hello buddy I’m having trouble I changed all the spark plugs and ignition coils and the P0300 goes away but then comes back
I am working on my 2008 1500 Silverado (not made the 1st payment on it yet) . I am a handy man at best. I've replaced all my spark plugs, wires, alternator, purge solenoid, evap canister, battery, ac blower motor, dash, all filter's (fyi, the 2007- 2014 Silverado cabin filters are a b** times two because you HAVE TO CUT OUT THE housing that would be its housing cap and SURPRISE, NO D*** FILTER! DO YOU HAVE TO CLEAN EVAPORATOR AND REMOVE ALL DEBRIS FROM THE CAVITIES AND ORDER A NEW PLATE/CAP AND FILTER.) she's sounding, running like a champ and sounds so good and seems to "perk up'" so well now right? Sorta kinda, I noticed oil leaking all over the oil pain (was told it could be a rear main seal leak)and transmission bell and coolant leaking from the tube that goes into their head of the passenger side head and beneath the intake manifold, aka a possible head gasket leak. My heart sank and my eyes tear up. I have drive train warranty, but y'all know how that goes, the rather the truck burn to the ground first! I was told "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade! You have all the ingredients and the Haynes manual you have is your recipe book!" I feel the truck coming back to life, but how much is too much? I'm changing the coolant and transmission fluid change tomorrow and am the type of person that will work on repairing and upgrading anything till it can't go any further, yet I have so much to learn and am new to automatics but I love learning!
09 Silverado. That ribbed tubing is hanging down. Cannot for the life of me figure out where it goes. It runs towards the front of the pickup along the frame. Anyone have any idea where it might go?

Why do you need a special circuit tester ? Can’t you find the resistance value and simply ohm out the circuit with a standard ohmmeter ?

The line that runs to my filter does not go to the filler neck but runs to the front towards the engine, its an 08 sierra, do i need to chase it down or can i cut the hose and hose clamp it back to the solenoid
just another fucking smash and bang guy!!
I usually tape a chunk of string or wire to the filter before I pull it and the hose out of the crevice they stuffed it through. Makes pulling the new one back in much easier.
The other option is to cut the hose off the valve and use the old hose as a pull snake.
The things you do when you don't have a lift. :^)

I think the design is fine. Its the location that is bad. I just replaced my evap vent solenoid on my Colorado. I popped the top off and it was full of dirt and debris. If they placed them in another location where it wouldn’t be subjected to the dirt, water and other debris, they probably would last quite a bit longer
