So since I'm seeing a trend of Uh vehicles around here that seem to be from the Great White North that have some Rust I Thought it best if I went ahead and invested in one of these guys. You guys know what this thing is. I will show you compressor powering on Okie dokes First things first, let's make sure that fitting that they gave me matches my existing fittings. and it does.

So that's a that's a bonus. What I'll do is while my compressor is filling up, come out. let's get this fitting installed. This is a pneumatically operated tool.

That means it's run by air. Tighten this guy up real quick. I Don't know if these things if they vibrate or if they rotate I've never operated a needle scaler before I think they just vibrate or something. but basically what we do is we depress our trigger right here with our Air Supply and the tool is going to go to work.

and then if I let's have a rusty cardboard box I can run this thing on the cardboard box and it will remove the surface patina located on set box. so I uh I don't think that these rotate and they will move around. but I don't think it's designed to do that mosquito. but I don't think it's designed to do that I think that when you depress the trigger, it just kind of vibrates back and forth and these things just shake around a bunch.

As soon as that compressor's done, we'll fire it up and check it out. So uh listen, while that thing's uh doing what it does, let's go into the office real quick. I Want to talk to you guys about something? Let's shut the door because that compressor is loud. Okay, here.

pull up a chair, let's have a seat guys. let's all have a seat in my office. Oh, that's funny. Even in times of of unhappiness I'm still over here making jokes.

All right. Number one, This is kind of weird because I'm staring at my phone and it's looking at me. Um, kind of nervous to kind of go through this. It's almost.

They'd rather do it on a live stream. Tell you the truth. that might be easier. Uh.

anyway. I'll I'll just get on with it. Um, so last night I was messing around with uh with some of the YouTube features. Um, let me back up.

There is a YouTube feature called Channel memberships and um I have members on the channel they pay? Yeah, I consider it like a tip. Dog Chip jar. There's that compressor I consider it a tip jar just like the Patreon account. Um I Always have I opened both of those because people were asking me to.

they wanted to donate for a break, lean or to pay the rent or or do whatever you know they wanted to help support the channel and and the stuff that I do. And last night I um I got this bright idea that since there's like a hundreds I think 168 channel members I got the spread idea that I would uh post videos early to them like right after I upload them and I made a post about it and I said you know I was gonna go ahead and do that for the channel members. basically they did it the night before I released because I post my videos at like 6 a.m um in the mornings. so I figured it would be nice for everyone if I gave those people um a six hour early window because we're not all on the same schedule.
some people are waking up in Moscow and some of us are going to bed in in Boulder Colorado so I thought that was going to be, you know, just a win-win situation and you guys got really mad at me for that. Some people did, um a lot of insults, people called it greed and it just kind of hurt my feelings. and today I'm having a really down day over the stuff that I that I read I actually took the post out and I was it just turned into like this Echo chamber of of of hating on the whole subject. um it's not pay to play like I said folks were there anyway they wanted to be there I never asked anyone to be there and to join the channel membership program or um, uh uh or the Patreon account for that matter.

and I just uh I don't know I'm just I'm having a hard time dealing with the that kind of response because it it kind of hurt my heart a little bit. I just I Guess they say the it's no good deed goes unpunished. Um so for the folks that I offended, um I apologize I never intended to do such things anyway. that's enough.

uh, rambling for me. um if I offended anybody I apologize for that. it wasn't my intention I was just trying to, uh, just trying to use some of these new features that are showing up and um and and I kind of got bit by this one I Hope you guys I upset can forgive me and I hope that um, you know you at least watch this video. So I have the opportunity to explain my position on what happened.

So uh, that being said, let's go back out in the shop and play with that little tool. Sound good? Thanks guys! Well now what do we do to the needle scaler Where'd I leave it I lost it. Where are you toolbox? No internet? Yes there it is. Found you All right? let's go play with this thing.

I happen to have a pile of Rusty Parts over here in the corner and uh I see very very Rusty Parts look there's some rusty Jeep parts and uh I think that's from an equinox that I know came from New York yeah we can. There's all kinds of stuff we can use. Uh, use this tool on. let's check it out.

So listen 100 this is gonna be loud noises. Let's dry fire at first see what happens. All right got it? I wouldn't put my hand on that side but they don't rotate. Let's try it out right here.

Oh hang on. Well it's no paint ready surface but it uh it does. Clean up all that scale. let's try it on.

uh let's see this. Rusty Backing plate right here. Let's try this. All right that's cool.

That's the cleaned up side. This is the the nasty flaky growth side. I Like this tool, this is A we're gonna get some use out of this. It's loud, it does a really good job.

Wow. all right that's cool All right. I'm pleased with this. I got this one on eBay Um not gonna make a link not this time.
All right guys I'm going home. it's about 5 30. I'm done here I'm gonna I'm gonna head out. Thank you guys for watching this short video.

Hope you accept my apology. uh I hope I brought uh some clarity to the situation and the re can stop because that that hurt my feelings a little bit. Um anyway you guys have a good night again. thanks for watching.

Have a great day. end of transmission all right now I Just need to find a home for this guy. Where's he gonna live? I Don't have a lot of air tools anymore. Most of them are electric.

Uh yeah, you know what? That'll work right there with the oil filter cups.

NEVER apologize to these snowflakes (no matter your age) that doesn't know how to accept how the real world works!

Your time is valuable, if they can't wait one freakn day to get your content, then that is on them.

They are just jealous they can't claim to be FIRST COMMENT, which NO ONE CARES ABOUT! or something.

Your patreon members should get the same benefit or maybe the ability to get personalized diag or repair suggestions that you can look up in All-Data or Mitchell or whatever you have.

Sadly I can't pay to be a member or patreon, as I'm on limited fixed income but I'm also not going to judge you for just trying to pay your bills.

I used to be a tech just like you, school trained, ASE certified and everything, I know what you are going thru.

They are just being cheap, are you supposed to diag and repair their cars for free next? HELL NO! that diag software costs how many $thousands a year?
You need to be able to recoup at least some of that.

Go F yourself for those that have a problem with this… OR FIX YOUR OWN DAMN CAR WITHOUT GUIDANCE!

go ahead I'll wait and laugh at you when you turn up on YT "Just rolled in"
    Those are the funniest!

Are they going to feed you or your family or pay the bills on your shop?
    Somehow, I doubt it.

I haven't subscribe to your channel or anyone else's. I watch your channel because I find it interesting and informative and I enjoy what you put on it. Keep going as you are and egor the idiots who find pleasure in complaining about the content. Never feel bad about bad comments but feel really good about the good comments

Ray, sometimes squeaky wheels don’t need oil… THEY NEED TO JUST SHUT UP AND STOP DEMANDING WHAT THEY DIDN’T EARN; Or simply get replaced!

All that said, you owe nothing!!! You’re one of the best mechanics I’ve ever found and I wish to God you weren’t 10 hours away from me because you’d have my Silverado for a front end rebuild and other various services!

Anyway, that’s HUGE of you to humble yourself, be the bigger man and apologize for something you didn’t even do wrong! Keep on cranking, you and your family are awesome, make sure you keep family cries and laughter before the YouTube whiners and do you man.

Remember most of us we’re just fine and likely didn’t even catch on!!! The squeaky wheel somehow always gets the oil… funny how the squeaky wheel is only 10-30% off the total value! 🤔

Best of luck, Ray and family!!! Y’all are amazing and very much appreciated by your communities as a whole! 🙂

    No apology required
I can’t believe some people get so nasty about something that is none of their concern…. If members want to help u out it is only fair you show your appreciation to “Said people” with some kind of reward of your choosing click😉

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Larry Derouin says:

Ray. No apology necessary. It's your channel, play with the accessories as you feel. Always gonna be snowflakes that get their feelings hurt over a piece of rust in the eye (frontier). Imagine 25-30 needle guns being worked on a ships hull, and you're inside. 😊😊 Do your thing.

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Timothy Allbritton says:

First of all, no apology is necessary, and secondly and most importantly the way you handled the situation speaks volumes as to your credibility. Keep up the great work, you have done nothing wrong 🙂

lol as a 20 yr Navy Sailor.. I am Soooooo familiar with the Needle Gun.. sooo much ship paint removed

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars DOUGLAS BURFORD says:

I strongly recommend using a whip hose on air hammers and needle scalers as the linear vibrations travel right into the air nipple, causing wear and early failure. I have seen the nipples break off right at the pipe threads. I have used whips on all my air tools for 50 years including impact wrenches, ratchets, die grinders, drills, even blow nozzles. I have replaced very few nipples due to wear.

It's your channel. If you want to post availability of the videos earlier for your members that is a cool thing to do. It's not like you aren't posting the video, you are just doing it earlier. You have the right to do that and it's a way of showing your appreciation for those who directly support you. I enjoy your channel, keep up the good work!

  32. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Medkow74 says:

Don't apologize. The other You Tube circle I follow it's very common place for creators to have "members only videos" and "members only live streams". Some even go as far as having a live stream but only allow members to chat. You do what you want, if people want to support you then they deserve to get something even if it's a little thing like you wanted to do.

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Paul Whiffen says:

To be honest Ray there is no need for an apology of any kind,I've learned from past experiences that you can please some people some of the time but not all the people all of the time .And your doing a great job I've learned lots from watching your videos so from the UK please ignore the haters and have a great day 👍

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jesse Walls says:

I'm not a member or anything but I can't see the harm in giving thanks to the people who do support you by giving them a small head start. You do you. That apologie was well said tho !

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Phil Atwood says:

Every Navy sailor that's had to chip paint knows that tool as a "needle gun".. like you said it's kind of like an air hammer that pushed the needles out in short strokes to chip paint. Very noisy below the deck being chipped. Don't know what you use but we used welding rods when the needles got too short, which takes a long time. Happy chipping.

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jacob Helmka says:

It's a needle gun. Place the tips against the surface and it it vibrate to remove rust.

It's just the entitled generation. They think because they "tip" you some money via memberships, that you owe them something, or that they own you.

While they sit behind their keyboards, grabbing their participation medals, screaming REEEEEEEEEEEE at coloured dots on a screen.

The sort of people who can't understand how their parent(s) failed them.

  46. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Chris Chronos says:

Plenty of people are morons. During "That time" in 2020 I was doing livestreamed gigs where people could donate if they wanted to, but it was free for all to listen to my music. I'd get messages every now and then talking about how greedy that is, as if I was forcing them. The only reason I started doing donations is because, like you, people wanted to support. Anyway, point is; plenty of people are morons. Do your best to block them out, they aren't worth your time.
