I'm amazed about all the work you can do with one hand
Bad ass! nice work bro
whats with all the leafs lol
I love your channel, I’m a beginner heavy diesel mechanic but I love working on cars and consumer based trucks, great information and tips!!
Wow! PITA!
Thanks!
FANTASTIC video! How to execute a plan and have firm confidence in it down to the last step! Curious to know the brands of the sensors
Ray, that thing is called an odometer, not a clock. You're not working on tractors.
Why not fit a socketbit over it?
I have done a couple of those and they are generally all rusty but I never had one break off like that
Remember what Eric O said, just because it's new, doesn't mean it's good.
Nice work
I had to have my sensors replaced twice sucks
Did i see a florida man in his natural habitat?!!!
You are dulling your bits by drilling too fast. Slow and steady, you want to see long strips off the bit not powder.
slow down those bits when drilling will help you. When you're making powder instead of curly fries. you're burning up your drill bits cutting edge.
EXPERIENCE IS EVERYTHING.
Red RTV is oil resistant to
I would’ve used a magnet
NASA never uses the word "failure" but instead uses the phrase "attempt at success" to keep the confidence of the citizens up.
I am an ASE Master tech, and your diagnostic flow is right on, BUT, what I love MOST is your style of commentary….
Very similar to mine! Great sense of humor!!!
Great job 👍
What diagnostic software are you using?
I'm sure a lot of people are here to see exactly how to do some certain thing, and I'm sure some "experts" are here to troll, but I am here because I enjoy you bringing me to work with you. We aren't talking about politics, we aren't talking about everything that is wrong in the world today. We're just here, hanging out, enjoying the jokes, and maybe teaching me something along the way.
Reeeee. Hahahaha
I came here expecting loud noises, and i was not disappointed. And, as a bonus, i got strategic violence.
And when the new sensors went in, and you used reasonable clicks… perfection.. 😂
Excellent video.
I really enjoy the thought process, i do the same work but in the middle of no where with minimal tools, i ctually watch your videos on my days off when im back in civilisation..
I understand that nowadays it is known as "knocking".
When I first started driving is was known as "pinking".
Knocking referred to worn big-end journals.
Been in your situation and ended up using quick set JB weld metal epoxy. Used a small brush (kind you use with anti seize) to carefully put it on the edges, let it dry 30 mins and it worked great.
I love the folks who claim that these GM trucks were so great. 107k on the odometer and it’s had a full suspension rebuild, the engine torn apart twice and an oil pan gasket. I had a similar vintage F150 that towed at least 4-5k pounds every day for 200k miles and all I ever had to fix was a coil pack. It was unfortunate that a 3/4 ton dodge tried to get a new ford tailgate as a hood ornament at 65 mph. My old Suburban however, is a parts pit. At 250k it’s had a transmission, rear end, 2 starters, alternator, fuel pump (just filled it too…that sucked) and an ignition switch. It leaks oil, trans fluid, and power steering fluid. The front suspension is shot, the exhaust manifold is broken, the air conditioning doesn’t work, gear indicator is out in the dash, 2 of the doors won’t open anymore, if it’s plastic, it’s broken. Worst f’n vehicle I’ve ever owned. I’m glad it’s only driven about 100 miles a year or I’d go broke completely just trying to keep the fluids contained.
Thanks for taking us on a wild ride. That seemed like a real booger to deal with.
Your center punch…. there is a rod inside that acts Ike a hammer. Take it out and smoothen the end edges on a sharpening stone so it don't hang up inside when it's pressed down. It's suppose to meet a small orifice and hang up until enough pressure forces it to click in then it hammers the pin inside.
Great trouble shooting and fix. Love those videos…
Nice job!
I liked it, I learned the importance of torque and good drill bits!
I gotta way to go.. what a great fix! Gotta say I have never in my 30+ years never seen this mistake before. Vary Satisfying video.
👍👍😎✌️🤟
👋Sir,nice video ,neversieze in the new ones, blessings
Total victory! You are a genius bro! 😎
you da man ray! nobody does it better!!!
Wow, that was real tense drilling those sensor threads out. Very entertaining. Over torqued knock sensors for the loss. Good job previous repair guy 😀
It's hard to find honest mechanics around here, and you're waaay too far away to visit for service, so I can only hope to find someone as good and honest as you.
Say hello to Petah
its the ground on the sensors and properly torqued. GM tsb for this condition.
I don't understand why I don't understand why so many people feel they need to over tighten every bolt they touch.
I once saw a person break spark plugs(3 of them). Then they asked me why the plugs were breaking. I said "Show me how your putting them in."
He did, and break another. LOl omg the fool was using a standard socket and tightened them to 40 lb/ft. He was lucky it was a iron head, if Aluminum he would have pulled all the thread right out.
I said " You said you know how to repair cars, who told you plug need 40 pound of torque.?"
His reply " "It's a big thread, not thread that big take more torque?
Ray you do excellent work thanks for the YouTube videos you’re very insightful , you’re one in my book!
Thank you Guy for showing!
Just bending it back and forth eventually it will snap. Sounds like a bad masturbation story
