Now I know why after paying 2500 that the problem still is there. Do not go to a shop in Orrock Minnesota.
I looked for witness marks…..nothing. All they did was toss on 4 new tires.
Add a comment…
Choo-choo! 🙂
I've changed a few of these same bearings. They're always seized in here in Canada. Good job Ray
6.0l came out in 2003
Sometimes you think it's a nut, sometimes it aint.
it's a shame the owner disabled the automatic locking hubs. I just rebuilt mine (replaced seals and orings) and they work great.
6.0 came out in ‘03.5.
The dust guard is missing. Must not have been the first time he’s had a new hub assembly
International is a VW diesel, and now VW owns all of Navistar
Also you don’t see that problem on the rear axel with tapered bearings?think about it
240000 miles and on the sixth set it’s a spicer built in failure no body today can or wants to pack the old school taper bearings to much hassle think about it!
Curious… Why are you concerned with over torquing when anti-seize is applied, but just say "click" after beating on the nut with a pneumatic impact gun. I would have thought some "actual clicks" would have occurred. I know some will say "he knows is tools", but it can't be that accurate. It could easily over torque as much if not more than if anti-seize was used. Especially given the variability of pneumatic tools and shop air pressure.
6.0 started in 2003 so they got some 2003's that are 7.3 L and then they got some that are 6.0
I am still amazed how pneumatic tools use a standardized quick (dis) connect system. I worked in the spray enameling business in the 1970-80s and it seemed every pneumatic manufacturer had their own proprietary connectors, so every shop had to decide which ones to use.
It was almost all about the balls AND shaft.
i know im late to see this but dang that hub came off so easy !!! i just spent 4 days smashing one off where the axle shaft was also stuck to the hub, had to use many sledge hammers and broke a few things and tools to do it
Next time REMOVE the owner photo ID card from pictures!
Maybe i shouldn't be surprised but my last Ford truck was a '79 F150 Custom and after burying it in mud, I had to clean and repack both lock-out assemblies and from what I saw, they didn't change much at all but I guess when something works, why change it. That truck gave me many years of service with minimal issues, that is after I replaced the 351M which was a POS heh.
I’ve always replaced bearings, calipers, tie rod ends, etc in pairs. Not necessary or required??
In what part of Florida are you located, Ray? I appreciate your work ethic and knowledge and would like to send some business your way.
I'm not sure how I ended up finding this channel but I do enjoy it.
You didn't do the tururuRURU man….. I'm very disappointed.
But never mind, great vid as always.
99% great, except the obvious.
***I take that back, heard it at the end, sorry.
you need to wear ears, gonna kill your sleep tinnitus …oB
The 6.0L powerstroke came out in early 2003, I have one that I currently drive that was manufactured in February 2003
a little teflon tape goes a long way on those nipple things 😉
Did you forget the brake splash plate?
This is the first time I found this channel, I'm very impressed. Very professional, and I'm glad there's no profanity.
Seems like a lot of guys on here use a lot of foul language. Thank you sir!
"Super Duty" = "Large Bowel Movement"
Good morning, I love watching your videos my friend I was curious on this one whether or not it's standard procedure to change out the vacuum seal that is on the backside of the wheel bearing and pressed onto the stub shaft? I know these vehicles are very prone to having vacuum leaks and this will cause the "auto" four-wheel drive to not engage properly and we'll set your vent selection to default in to defrost if those seals are leaking. I am not posting this to criticize by any means only curious if the customer declined anything else or if the seals we're okay and if they were what was the method used to verify that?
Good video. Curious as to why a new brake shield was not installed?
👍😁🤣
😒😘
You're as bad as my brother,Atilla the pun.
Looks at least 20,000 miles over due!!
i like when you eh peter!
Dedicated Hooks for hanging the caliper and saving the Hyd., lines would be good. At least you know the caliper should not be the support for the Brake Caliper. 👍👍👍.
How many chickens 🐔 does it take to lift a ford 🤣😂🤣😂
I just can’t imagine you not being booked solid. Seriously if I was lucky enough to work with you I would be shouting it from the rooftops, lol. Thank you for the videos!
Nice job as usual Ray. Thanks for video.
Anyone else slightly confused why they keep watching these videos? I mean, I've watched a lot of repair videos for repairs on my own vehicles, and it's usually a chore, but these I'm just watching….because I keep watching and realize a half hour later I've finished the video when I have no repairs to make at the moment. This is some kind of sorcery.
What happened to the brake disc dust shield ? Did it rust away ?
Ohhhhh… I do so enjoy a tappy-tap and a dooby-doo.
U need a bigger hammer
I own the same truck, a word of advice use two large pry bars on the axle where it goes into the tube and you can slide the bearing out straight. Makes less hammering. And it also allows for the bearing to be reused when doing ball joints. Or you can pull axle and wheel bearing as an assembly
Was the rotted away disc rotor back plate no longer available?
