But how long does the lense retain it's clarity? My experience has been that in less than 6 months the lense is cloudy again. Oem replacements are really the only long term fix. Just my 2 cents

Hey Eric O. I really enjoy your channel. I'm from a small rural farming town in North West Ohio. I have been a subscriber for several months now. I originally referenced your channel when it first was suggested to me on YouTube. This was before I subscribed. I'm glad to be a current subscriber of your channel. I like your no BS method when it comes down to problem solving skills. I also like your old school sense of humor. All while taking us the viewrs along for the ride. I've referenced your headlight restoration videos a few times. The have been very helpful and very informative. The only area I'm striking out in is with finding Safetclear on there website. For some reason every time I try get to their website it never lets me access their homepage. I'm still really interested in giving the Safetclear product a try on my 2012 Ford Fusion SE. Are there any other websites by chance where I can buy just the Safetclear product from your video? The only thing I've seen so far was a whole restoration kit of their's on Amazon. I just want to try the product in your video. But I don't necessarily want the whole kit.

I have the 3M professional kit at my detail shop and have also used the over counter 3M kit. Both work great and last longer than other kits. I always use a good clear coat afterwards and never had a problem with it peeling or yellowing. I love the use the small 3000 trizac pad on small paint scratches.followed by the 3M polishing compound for quick permanent paint correction.

"Super-Duper" is a great word. I'm waiting for Ford to come out with the Super-Duper Duty F350.
Are you using a random-orbital tool to sand and polish the headlights? Where can I get one?

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tom says:

So I cleaned my Daughter's Camry headlight lenses with rubbing compound you would normally use on your paint when you have a scrape. It worked really well. Someone tell me why this isn't acceptable?

I've done quite a bit of these. I think the big difference when I'm done is to really clean the lens with some paper towels b4 the last step. They now have a clearcoat whipe u can use that's super awesome when finished legit like new. But dr o my ? Is how do u get that super thick clearcoat off when doing like a escalade with out spending hours on it😅🤣??

    Hey Eric love the video,
And all your others. I always watch you just for fun.
I am going to be cleaning head lights on my vehicle but the video didn’t really state if you apply the headlight clear coat overtop of the Wax/buffing compounds???
Or are you supposed to wash it off.

Also is the headlight clear coat from safeTclear a spay type coating?
Or how does one apply it?

    Thanks Joey C

2004 focus wagon ZTW. I am replacing both sides with new units.

How do I remove the bottom headlight assembly screw on the driver side?

The air intake is in the way from under the car.

I got the passenger side assembly off the car but I have no idea how to get at that bottom screw on the drivers side.

Can that screw be accessed by removing the wheel splash guard?

I haven't found any videos addressing this problem. THNX

I started using Silver Stars when they first came out and also moved up to the Ultras when they came out. I agree that they are the best outside of going to HID, LED, or Projector bulbs.

I used the 3M kit on my toyota tundra (4) months ago… spent a LOT of time they looked great….. key word "looked" Now September 3rd and they are getting cloudy again. Going to re-do them with the sylvania kit. I personally don't think the UV protect part of the 3M kit is much good. The sylvania kit, I have seen that last over a year on my old Jeep. Replacement headlights with the leveling motors for the tundra are pretty spicy price wise….not ready to do that yet….. but I know I am going to have to….eventually.

yrs ago i had a caravan and the one before it the headlights turned yellow so when i bought my new one i bought the optical plastic covering that you install over the lens cost me around $50 and it worked great and they new van lights never yellowed as well, also it was thick enough that when you caught a stone or something it didnt break the light cover it did make a mark where the stone or object hit but no other damage ,was very easy to apply, this stuff can still be bought mostly online tho

  44. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars KT says:

The only problem with these products is, it looks good after the application. However, it won't last more than a year and starts to yellow again.
Applying clear coat helps it looks good, but saw that it bends the light, making the headlights having a blurry output at night. Also, it will starts to peel over time.
Apply the spray like plastic X, that you need to apply every year to maintain it.
So far, what I seen that can last longer is a plastic uv wrap from 3m. Seems to last a while without needing yearly application.

  47. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Bill Bosch says:

Check out Cerakote for headlights. You're welcome 😊

  48. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Stan Rodgers says:

REPLACE THEM, THEY ARE OLD AND THE PLASTIC IC BAD.

  49. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Steve Cobratei says:

I hear ya about Scotty, but he does say to use headlight coating from Meguiars. Basically the plastic will eventually crack from the heat from the bulb.
I'm all for restoration, I charge $50 – $125, of course depending on size and how bad they are. Is that a good price or should I charge more?
