… 11.20 to 11.27 …that is exactly what they sound like . Thank you for doing what you do.
Are you on south main in Rockford Illinois
This guy greased UNDERNEATH the hardware. And then didn't grease where the pads go on the hardware. 😂
I could watch 100 SMA brake job videos. Learn a little each time.
You can’t do too many brake video it’s the delivery and entertainment we come here for and I think I pick something up from each one anyway! Thanks keep them coming we need our brake Kleen fix!!
You probably want answer but the dust shield is it a big job to remove i have a 2013 elantra
A bit rough and ready but otherwise a good job, here in Australia it is called a park brake not an emergency brake although it is not compulsory to use it but is strongly recommended. The only drivers who do not use it are either to stupid or bloody lazy.
I use my parking brake every time I park. It's good for your transmission
Good video man. Should i take the cap off the fluid reservoir before pushing calipers back??? Thanks
I put new pads and rotors in both my ELANTRA s in front and after driving a while, they start grinding before coming to a complete stop, what would cause that
Great video what is that battery ratchet your using I don’t see it listed
Just did these on the GF's 2012 Elantra Touring. Awesome vid and dead nuts on. Thanks for the tips Eric!
We had an '03 Elantra that needed an emergeny tire change; hubby (who could at that time have done it himself without thinking twice) couldn't get the wheel off; it had rusted to the wheel hub. Had to have it towed to a shop to get it done. Glad they've addressed that issue in (or before?) the '10 model.
Are the 2014 Hyundai rear brake identical in construction?
I use my e-brake a bunch. Automatic RAM and I don't drift (unless its snowing).
Eric, could you inform us of the electric ratchet you use? I haven't seen it listed.
I wish every set of brake pads for brake jobs would come with new hardware but that's another way that gouge you on money is charge you extra for just the brake hardware kit
I pretty much do exactly this. Remove rust from metal surfaces and lube up brackets and pins and shins on pad. Always lube parking break hardware, as this ALWAYS seems to be an issue. No lube on any bolts as it’s not necessary. And your good. Been doing it since I was 16 and I get nice even wear.
Kid playing Tokyo drift. Lmao.
Two thumbs up
Do you turn brake rotors? Or do you recommend new rotors at every brake job?
grate video Eric oh and for the record ha ha I always use my E brake on my focus wagon when im parked in my driveway LOL
I use my parking brake.
Love watching your videos, and the upstate NY area. I am from Rochester so this brings back memories when you guys were towing the snowplow that tipped on it's side. I do learn a lot from watching. Keep up the great videos.
New drinking game… take a shot every time Eric says toot

if we can do it then we don't need to bring it to you
What type of media do you use in your blast cabinet? I’ve been using glass bead and it doesn’t work very well.
Thank you, I learned more about changing brakes. That brake cleaner is bad for you and the planet, I hope your kids don't spend much time in the shop!
Holy crap I'm not crazy. I installed a set today of those pads. I thought man these things literally stink. Then that's all I could smell all day !! Lol!!
What a beautiful design, ha?
Hey Eric, what type of a sandblaster setup do you have? Keep up the great content
Keep up the brake jobs, they never get old:) I use your videos to do my girl's brakes:)
2 sets of rear brakes already. It’s looks like cars have rear brakes that wear out faster than the fronts. I’ve seen this on VW jettas and 2013 Nissan pathfinders.
So, Hyundai did this on both the Elantra and the Sonata, so that you can't get to that one bolt?
If you happen to be watching this vid in preparation of doing your first break job a word of advice. I have an 09 Kia Spectra and went to replace my pads and rotors. First time doing a break job. Discovered that my rear pads had seized in the brackets due to rust. Well got them out and cleaned the brackets up and put everything together. Big noob mistake right there that cost me in the long run. Rear calipers were shot from the seized pads. About 6 months later the calipers started to stick real bad and finally seized up. Rear wheel got so hot I had to have it towed to a shop. Replaced the wheel bearings too because of the heat possibly fouling them up. So if you find in yourself in a similar situation dont make the mistake I did. Lesson learned.
❤ 👌 👍
It’s a good tip to give a toot of fluid film on the hand brake mechanism. It is used so infrequently and the degree of movement so small that it just asks for corrosion to seize it up.
I'm not trying to put anyone on blast here or use names but I was watching a video and it's sad when you didn't get credit when credit was do. Great job on diagnosing a car through a video a video.
thank you for teach me here, really appreciate the time you take to do all the videos, I have learn a lot with you even when I am a beginner in the automotive field
You forgot to paint them red for 10 extra horsepower.
That stink… I won't mention what it smells like but it smells awful. Imagine hundreds of boxes of those on a hot day in a store. Sickening.
For most that don't know about pre load is commonly over looked for the diyer. Nice welcoming video.
Love those 'A' style air coupler 😉
Just beat it jajajaja😂😂😂😂
I like to spiff up those wheels on cars with the spoked hubcaps by painting them with flat black paint. Just get you some Rustoleum in a rattle can and wire brush off the wheels. Wipe 'em down with mineral spirits and blast away! It makes those hubcaps really pop. Give it a try sometime! (Just to be clear here — paint the wheels after removing them from the vehicle.)
No one is disagreeing Eric O ! Also, we expect you to say what you say every time you're over at the bench doing the brackets. I'm using your method AND product, and no one is changing my mind.
I've never seen you wear mechanic gloves before!
