Come along with Eric O. at the SMA shop as he replaces the fuel pump assembly in this 2007 Hyundai Sonata V-6. This one came in the shop with an EVAP leak and he located the leak to be coming from the top of the fuel tank. It is very common on these to crack the top of the fuel pump because the retaining ring gets rusted and "swells" up breaking the plastic. Enjoy!

What made u change the fuel pump?
Great video, I’ve don’t this twice already. Just curious, where is the separate fuel filter on that car? Not the one inside the fuel pump, the external one…
It drives me crazy how auto manufacturers do not line up parts with the access hole! Why the hell do they do that? 🤷♂️

Eric can you please tell me how you smoke test this car? I have same car with awful gas smell when turn on in the back, I did believe Same problem, I installed fuel pump and gas cap and, still same I tried to smoke test using the purged valve in the engine bay and closing the canister vent valve and I can't find any smoke, I also looked at the fuel pump for a cracked leak and nothing so I just replaced the fuel pump and still the smell, did I hooked up the smoke machine incorrectly? Please help, newbie here, machine is a Zurich highest value from harbor freight, It does have the features to turn the appropriate valves on and off, thanks from Chicago, wish you lived closer to Chicago

Easy to dislike fuel pump lock rings. Buy the special tool, lock ring rusted in and still end up with the air hammer. Thanks Hyundai, GM, et al.

When tank go around 1/2 go off
Code is P0133 lean condition in upstream o2 sensor
replace o2 sensors,air intake sensor and cat converter a year ago.
When ligh come a month ago i swich back to the old upstream o2
Didn't fix the issue
No visible leaks in injectors all of them click evenly.
No fuel smell in the oil
I like to do a smoke test and replace temp sensor.
I will replace the fuel pressure sensor also (feel this is the problem)

We replaced fuel pump. But the quick connect failed and pops off. Can the plastic quick connect be replaced and is it fairly easy?

Thank you for this video now I know which one of the pumps to order. Every time I put in the specifics of my Hyundai Sonata it shows so many different fuel pumps.
I ran into that same problem….I cut myself a smal wooenl wedge about 1-1/2" long, about 1/2" thick …put it next to the flange and used a flatbar to pry it under the flange
