For those hard to reach ones I like to put a little electric tape in my socket and it holds the bolt so that you can actually put it in them threaded holes without dropping them
Ray – glad you finished when you did- I'm exhausted. I was ready to run back to the shop and grab a longer extension bar for more leverage. I need that cold shower now. cya 🙂
Good job Ray! It made me laugh a little because the same stuff happens to me too! Thanks for honestly showing that! I’ll feel a lot less stressed when I’m in a similar predicament.
You Are Fricken Awesome Ray! Truely Impressive! I am not a mechanic by no means, but i watch your videos with such conviction. You've demonstrated a great deal of PATIENCE, and excellent PROBLEM SOLVING skill level – GOD LIKE! Be Well! Be Blessed brother!
Ray One of the best tools I have is a small vanity mirror from a sun shade out of a wrecked car with a couple of magnets glued on with a torch finds most bolts I cant see also handy for back of engine/ manifold stuff
He's like "Can you guys see it?" …and I immediately pull my phone closer and look very carefully like I will be able to say "Yeah Ray, it's right there…" and he would hear me 🤣
Generally people who do not work on cars do not understand the positions mechanics have to get into so they can access a part. Then they have to hold that position while removing said part or fasteners. And of course the more awkward the position the more the part/fastener argues with you about going home or things just don’t go right.
I've got a faint squeaking/scratching sound coming from one of the pulleys in my wife's 2010 Camry 2.5L engine. Too many pulleys to count, no room to work, and not sure which one is the culprit, and two belts contorted in a maze that would handcuff Houdini forever! Perfect! Told the wife to keep driving it until it falls off.
Great job Ray! I would have maybe used my stethoscope probe to listen to each individual component to confirm the offending bearing prior to dissasembly. Also, while watching you sweat out the new idler puller tension I was almost begging you to go grab a piece of pipe to extend the ratchet for leverage. I felt your pain!
Ray is the best great personality great work a must for any garage
it is in the fan shroud, this was a tough 1
Nothing worse than having to do something twice. Pet peeve of mine. Do it once and move on we say here.
They do say "No pain , no gain" and cars of all makes often cause pain to mechanics. I charge extra for weld burns. Lol
The second time you have all the tools handy and know which goes first
Just cut the belt and glue it back together again. 🤣😉
Ray,there are some jobs you don't get paid enough!God Bless!
For those hard to reach ones I like to put a little electric tape in my socket and it holds the bolt so that you can actually put it in them threaded holes without dropping them
Nothing goes together as easy the right way as it does the wrong way.
To the right of the shroud
My daily work drive had a horrible whining noise but only when driven on weekends. It cost me $265k to get rid of it, but hey, divorce is never cheap.
Really sad when your talking to the screen telling you i can see the bolt……
How did you get my tinnitus on audio!?
Love your videos but you make me sweat sometimes
This was more painful to watch than watchmaking. Crazy tight space. I wish pulling out motor and putting it on the bench would be easier.
Yay!😃
Yeah. I feel for ya on that job. My F-350 has a dual alt setup and it's really fun doing anything in there.
Surprised you didn’t use one one those doctors things ( what you call it?).
I saw the belt out the places, but at the moment can not tell you, sorry!
Work smarter, not harder… Use a big ass breaker bar on the tensioner, it'll give you more leverage with it's longer handle
Oh no!
I put my floor jack handle over my ratchet for better leveragev
Alright ray earned the like on this one. That looked like it sucked.
Good job , but the phone rang and you didn't do (doodidoo) hahahaha
Ray – glad you finished when you did- I'm exhausted. I was ready to run back to the shop and grab a longer extension bar for more leverage. I need that cold shower now. cya 🙂
Seriously- another great job.
I don't believe you need to remove the tensioner for a belt change I believe you just pinch the belt and push it between the tensioner and idler
Where,s Peter when you need him?
At minute marker 17 you failed? You'll never work in this town again.
Good job Ray! It made me laugh a little because the same stuff happens to me too! Thanks for honestly showing that! I’ll feel a lot less stressed when I’m in a similar predicament.
Thanks for showing us that even the best can have a bad day. And you stay calm, even if you are struggling. Much respect
I would say if you don't make mistake . You aren't doing anything
Is you last name "Hercules"…?? Nice job, Herc…!!!

No, No forgiveness for you! We want EEEEEEVERY bolt turn….(uses Seinfeld soup Nazi voice) 🤣🤣🤣🤣
He's like "Can you guys see it?" …and I immediately pull my phone closer and look very carefully like I will be able to say "Yeah Ray, it's right there…" and he would hear me 🤣
I bled with you.
The "Engineers" who designed that belt system must have been on something illegal!!!
No probs Ray glad to be of help finding that bolt 🤣
No probs Ray glad to be of help finding that bolt 🤣
Ray, kudos to you! It takes a very special person to do the job you do… And to video it on top of that. Amazing!

I lived in Phoenix, AZ in the '70's, and worked outside some times…I FEEL YOUR PAIN…and DRAIN!!
As olways: a great work welldone.
Have a greater day to you, Ray.

I find myself tencing up and holding my breath on certian parts of your video's , thanks for the drama.

That job was a knuckle buster from the beginning
Hey your doing a great job
