Come along with Eric O. at SMA as he has a look at this 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the I6 4.0 that was towed in with a crank, no start condition. It didn't take long to figure out this common problem and solve the infamous P0320 crank sensor code.

I doubt you'll reply but. My battery died 2 days ago when it was at least -27ยฐc (-16.6ยฐf) and its cranking and sounds like it's trying to fire but it just won't fire up, it's getting lots of gas and it should be getting spart (I'd check if there wasn't almost a foot of snow on the ground and more falling) what could be the problem now. It's a 1998 jeep grand cherokee limited 4.0L

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John Smith says:

My 99 cherokee had the cam sensor quit right in front of a local shop. The dude wasnt sure if it was a cam or crank sensor, it never threw a code, just no voltage at all from cam sensor. Gonna have him do it Tuesday I guess, To get it home I reset the computer. pulled neg cable for a few minutes put it back on and it fired right up.

had a 1994 jeep GC and i kept a spare cps in the glove box i used to lower the transmission cross member just before the bolts come out and then you can get the cps out much easier, first time i went to change it i though my goodness this thing is so long it was hitting the floorboard and no way to get it out so i thought about a sledge hammer and a blunt punch to make an indent but there was a line in the way then i figured out to loosen the bolts on the transmission cross member to get just enough room for it to slide out, poor design for a part that is a common problem in jeeps. i owned that jeep long enough i was a pro at changing them out.
