In a previous video https://youtu.be/Xr1J_h1mngc I had a look at this 2015 Jeep Cherokee with the big 3.2 and determined it had a faulty fuel injector. Now it is time to tear into it and see if we were correct.

🌹👍🏻
Ha ha yours and Rain Man Ray’s phones sound the same
"It doesn't look to hard to get off here"
4 minutes later
"What a PITA"
LOL
audio sounds great to me, never had an issue
Sounds good to me, Eric. Pretty crystal clear. Watching on YouTube.
Might just be very sensitive and picks up everything. One of my electronics creators wears a lapel mic that bluetooths to his camera. It sounds amazing and has very little external sound pickup. Maybe look into that?
But this mic you’re using sounds great.
Perfect audio here👍
My God, Stellantis, what have you DONE to Willys-Overland?!
I love my 3.6 Chrysler, but it's irritating to have to remove the plenum to just change the spark plugs.
Eric, we need to buy you a Atlanta Hawks trucker hat and see if you can pass off as a Burt Gross look alike! 😁
can you not add a fluffy bit to the mic to reduce the background noise, like the old wind noise trick?
Never nothing wrong with the audio, even the background noise is real.
However I need to stop blinking because I missed the spark plug replacement 😒
The audio is fine for me YouTube UK, its a working shop so I expect background noise.
Eric, your audio is fine, people are too picky.
A quick check saves your neck. 😀
Hey Eric, do you recommend using fuel injector cleaners? Like Lucas or anything, or do you just recommend replacement? TIA
Not sure what kind of camera you have or if it supports external audio sources, but you could look into something like a shotgun mic. That would be better for times when the camera is just on the tripod and would help cut down on background noise since it is a lot more directional, but it might make things a little weird if you are trying to cram the camera and yourself under a dash.
Personally, I don’t mind the audio as it is. Honestly, if you hadn’t said anything, I wouldn’t have known that you had a new camera at all. Then again, I’m not one of those types who power-whines about minute, insignificant issues.
I was never a fan of Mitchell. I always found the navigation to be super clunky and I don’t like the fact that they try to translate OEM service documents into their own stuff. That’s just another point of failure, as you showed in this video. Just give me a reprint of the actual OEM data, not another company’s version of translated OEM data. I got along fairly well with AllData and Identifix, specifically for the OEM data and TSBs. I always skipped the “silver bullet” fixes on Identifix and the AllData community though lol.
How do you remember where all the hoses go? I forget why I walk into the bathroom
The sound is ok for me. No jeep for me.
This was one of those times where the OHM meter paid for itself in testing the injector.
Hopefully the injector "o" rings on the old injectors won't cause a vacuum leak.
Good job Mr. O. Nice to see Mrs. O.
Oh ya. Where did you buy the lubricant you used on the engine cover? What brand?
Rayman is rubbing off on you with the phone noises lol
Been wondering, how many P.I.T.A. cars have you worked on? Other than all of them
you my friend have some magical hands. but that wiring harness and antipollution stuff.
I tried the audio on my Computer which is just my regular TV for the video and my Roku using the same TV. The Roku was more tinny sounding because it's using the cheap TV speakers whereas the Computer Audio is using my separate speakers which has more bass. Neither was objectionable. I think your new camera is fine. YouTube on Roku isn't that great.
I get what your saying about the multiple sources for data, but like you said, a couple hundred a month, how’s a diyer supposed to afford that, I can hardly afford one source, and which one do I get if I can’t trust any one of them? There has to be a better way, besides a service manual and blind luck.
I was screaming at the screen, " Ohm out the new one before you stick in the engine. " Just because it's new doesn't mean its any good!
Your audio is just fine !
Smart to actually measure the resistance of each injector. If you just went by the Mitchell data, you would have gone through all that work only to put it back together and find you still had the problem. Next step would have been to start checking the wiring for high resistance and if that didn't show any problem, next would have been to suspect the ECU. Thank you, Mitchell. Wonder if you can get your money back for this month.
Eric, I will never ever own a Dodge, Ford or Chevy, but I still watch every single video. Thank you so much. I appreciate your effort!
The point of failure might not be you my airpod sound quality is perfect.
Audio sounds fine on this video. Some other recent ones had a bunch of the audio coming out of the rear surround speakers for some reason, I assume those were with the surround mode turned on..
In my opinion, as a professional technician, it's not the red lock tabs that are troublesome but the grey ones.
I absolutely hate the grey lock tabs.
The red ones are all right.
Out here in California many of the dealership parts department don’t even answer the phone. Or deliver parts. Getting harder to make the customer happy these days. Keep up the good work.
Sounds great to me.
I don't think the audio sucks… it's really clear. But yes, it does pick up a bit more background noise, but not to the point is hard to listen to. Video also very crispy looking!
Within 6 months, another injector will fail. With Napa packaging OE Jeep injectors, it should behoove the owner to replace the other while they’re available…..🤑🤑 and life would be much better for this Jeep.
I see you use some German tools
Hi Eric, don't despair. The audio seems perfectly good to me. I am playing it through my standard video card in my PC, and a set of 5+1 Logitech speakers, the "5" being 2 inch units in plastic boxes. The bass unit is quite a bit larger and can overpower the treble. Just remember some audio nuts will complain about the slightest imperfection. Don't worry about them. I just love your video content, and your playful toying/teasing on screen with your Good Lady, Vanessa. She is lovely and cute.
Mozzle do the oil cooler while you’re in there.
I see you have your Led lights most of them have LEDs light on both sides of them I'm just a DIYER you think that's a big advantage in a shop that you think for a DIY person got some good ones thinking about upgrading
I always double check my hearing aids and the batteries before I watch one of your videos.😉
Eric, did you do a Rainman Ray "doo dee doo" when the phone rang?
Latin here with a bum back off of work n get to watch another great vid by SMA! Thanks buddy, ya always come thru in time of need😉
I am here for you content and I have been watching for a long time. People should probably stop complaining about the petty things in life. We watch you content because of the enjoyment and knowledge you share. You are very much appreciated
Fid eric "found" south main auto or was ownership passed down from father or something? Just thought about what would come of the place when erics hands and body decide theyre done with cars..? Theres only what 2 other techs who work there right? 1 or 2.. so it gonna get passed to them. Because i dont think his boy really wants to learn about cars or at least right now in his life so dont think it would stay in the family.. i guess itd be an expensive name to sell to another franchise .. that he's built.
Sound is nice and clear here. Running YouTube app on iPad
I ALWAYS ran the fuel pump to check for fuel leaks before I re fitted any more parts. 80's Toyota crown cressida 😒🙄😬
Sounds OK to my old-man ears. 👂👂 😁
Thanks for doing the follow-up video on that Jeep; like I said in the comments of the last video, we have one that's the same year, engine and even color. I'll file this away for possible future reference!
I’ve been following you for several years and I’ve never had a problem watching your YouTube videos. The video and audio have always sync’d perfectly and the video is always clear, no buffering; the audio is always clear.
My the people having problems with the audio should get iPhones.
No complaints re your audio from me. I focus on your voice and the video imagery. The only time I have to put more effort into it is in your winter when you have the heater on, but that's the same with any channel I watch in winter. No background noise will help me understand some of the words certain people say in some American and pitches (usually women with higher pitches) and the southern accents. I usually have to replay a few times. This is not the case with your channel.
Audio on my iPad using the YouTube app sounds just fine. Some YT “channels” I can’t turn the volume up enough to hear what is being said. Yours is fine.
Chrysler Junk…Mrs. "O"
You may just have to go to a wireless mic pinned to your shirt or maybe your hat. Still, it's like listening to an actual mechanic shop in real life to me on my computer and speakers.
hi miss o
What a nightmare of an engine bay. All that just to get to the injectors.
The torque spec snark still kills me! Love it.
The Sound was fine …
The Jeep was disappointing … plastic-clap-trap design.
The sound has been good on my Roku and iPhone. No complaints here ❤. I am using an Optical cable which has better quality sound.
New camera has a wide capture condenser microphone i'd presume. If you're willing to try some camera addons, Start with the Movo VXR10. It's literally $40 and sounds phenomenal. The Rode VideoMic NTG also sounds great and might work for ya.
Do they still stamp/indicate the cyl numbers on the intake manifold?
I mean, it does sound just like you….
Been a few days or a few Beers. Your Current test showed a lower Amperage Draw (If I remember right.) High Resistance, low current. Only 10 min. in.
Audio is fine for me. I also turned on the closed caption feature.
try a wireless bluetooth mic
No complaints here Audio is just fine
Just for fun test the new one😋
Hey Eric. I know what you mean about not trusting service data or repair manuals too much. I've seen several times when a little common sense saved a lot of work. I've replaced clutches on 2 different front wheel drive cars without tearing the entire front suspension out and dropping the transaxle. I had to work in a smaller space but I had access to everything I needed to replace and got it done in my front yard in less than half the book time listed for the job. On my 91 Nissan Sentra the book called for taking the top section of the intake manifold off to remove the fuel rail and injectors. While I had the valve cover off, I removed a bracket from the intake and had easy access to remove the fuel rail. Fewer bolts to remove and killed 2 birds with 1 stone. That's why I read the manual first and then apply some common sense. It amazes me how the repair manuals often over complicate jobs.
Burn it
Whenever I have my car worked on. I told the mechanic that only oem or Napa parts only. I can work on my own car anymore because of my health but when I use to be able and had to use the lower price discount store parts I had to replace them. I learned from my mistakes.
Shitty design.
The audio is fine except those few times it makes you sound like Scotty Kilmer
All Subcribers send Eric.O. $1.00 for a new camera…
Nice job.
Confirmed – ROKU audio is very different compared to Chromecast.
ROKU: Much louder, especially the background. Road noise & high frequencies are very loud.
I improved ROKU sound on my 'TV' by:
Centering all equalizers (clear voice mode);
Turning Surround mode on (TruSurround XT);
And reducing volume to match Chromecast.
Don't know why the new camera is creating digitized audio that ROKU interprets so differently (unless YT audio is not expanding what might be compressed and ROKU is applying significant – to much – expansion).
Several years ago you placed Fluid Film on you Toyota Tundra. Was is your review of that peocess?
No problem with sound here! Audio is great but then again has a viewer I have some really good audio equipment( Yamaha RX-A8A, Polk Speakers with 2 Polk 12” Subs) It sound like your right in my man cave or I’m in your shop… no worries friend.
No issues with audio. It's automotive repair video not a Mozart concert
Common sense – the ultimate diagnostic tool… (not found on a tool truck)
Do you know what WD40 means???…………………………Water Dryer Formula # 40… WW2 they used it to dry out distributor caps.
torqued for factory spec, wink, wink…😁😁
Nah, yer audio is just fine. Complainer needs to adjust ears.
A lapel mike would help you curse more without Mrs O hearing 🙂
Obviously I don’t speak for everyone, but I personally don’t mind background noise, couldn’t care less about surround sound, and audio “quality” is of no importance to me. I would be very happy if I didn’t have to turn the Roku volume up to 11 to hear you though. Wouldn’t be a big deal, but most of my viewing is late at night when the kids and wife are asleep. If I am not paying attention and am not quick enough with the remote to mute the YouTube ads, the entire house gets blasted. The problem won’t go away with changing Roku settings unfortunately. No matter what, if I can hear the master at work, the ads will be blaring.
Since you always have the hat on, why not get a bill mike? You can hang it on the bill of your hat.
I am using Roku and the sound is great.
Don't know what everybody's complaining about sound Is perfectly fine! Keep up the great work and video Mr. O. You are the best.
Respectfully, I did notice the audio harder for me to make out and listen to. Newer isn’t always better. Thank you, Eric for having us in mind
You loud and clear here.
Just an fyi…..audio is great.
Sounds like you where pissed off………..ummm audio working perfectly.
It was truly amazing. Once the red lock clips hit the trash Mr. "O" went into hyper drive. Made this old man tired just watching. Audio sounds fine on this end. It always gets some background noise.
Sounds fine to me to
Did I miss something or Did you forget the spark plugs before putting it all back together?
The sound is pretty bad: far too much background noise, eq gives wretched nasal high-mid spike, annoying resonance. Get a better mike. Try that first.
For me the audio is perfect. Tell them to quit using the Roku.
we,ll go back and torque to factory specs………Will we torqued everything to factory specs.
algorithm comments.
Agree with the other comments, the audio sounds fine. Thanks for another great video.
