AWESOME. I fixed my window. I learned more from your mistakes. Knew to avoid issues.

    Video still grandly helpful. Cheers

I'm watching how patiently you are taking the door panel off and chuckling. I've owned three jeeps and the window regulators broke on all of them. I just start at one corner of the panel with a screw driver (don't own your fancy tool), pop about three of the fasters and then just start pulling until it all comes off. Have I broken a couple of the fasteners? Yes, but they are cheap to replace. Never broken anything else, and got the panel off a lot quicker.

I realize this was 4 year's ago, but thanks for the video , extremely helpful, and unlike some other videos you actually tested the window before reassembly . Happy holidays !

This looks like me working on something, learning as you go, sitting something aside, didn't see the retaining clips go back in. 24: 40 I'm saying out loud, put the clips in….the window goes up and down…put the clips in….the plastic cover goes on….put the clips…..

    Thanks for sharing this!

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Gary Meredith says:

I watched your video all the way till the end on that Liberty that window regulator is going up and down way too slow a lot slower than my Jeep did when I got done I think you need to put some silicone in the window felt to help that window to go up and down , that should solve the slow up and down of that window .

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Gary Meredith says:

Well Eric wait until you have to undo the door panels on your Jeep Grand Cherokee like I had to undo on my 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee what a pain in the ass they are inside the door panels explode .

    Thats what safety wires for.

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Timothy Cathcart says:

I have an 03 Liberty and the front window will intermittently stop rolling up mid way, or I have to click the button several times as it will go up about 1 inch and stop. I took apart the switch mechanism and cleaned it… Everything appears good there. Could this be a window motor starting to go bad? Or are there other relays in the path? Also seems like it thinks the window is hitting resistance as if it were rolled up all the way.

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Heel 4Reel says:

This just happened to me…glad i found this vid. How long can i Not fix it before window no longer functions?

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Rory Weber says:

I would’ve broke something by now

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jonathan Gahan says:

Just Empty Every Pocket. The window regulators on these KJ Libertys are a wear item, with about the same longevity as the wiper blades or air cleaner.

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Shane Harrison says:

    Nothing like a little edutainment

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mike Kelbley says:

Taking the speaker out (just 3 screws and a connector) gives you easy access to the connector for the motor. Also gives you a little more wiggle room to get the regulator and motor situated. Hope this helps and thanks for all the videos!

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Grant Hodge says:

I must have missed something. Did you put the wire clips back on?

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Baby Beirut says:

    Oh wow remove the speaker

I want to express my appreciation for this video. I could never ever have done this job without watching it. At a few points in the job when I was stumped I reviewed those parts. thanks so much for all the little details. I had no earthly idea how to take the electrical plug apart by pushing the red tab out of the way. There are people like me that want to do that stuff but they need a lot of detail so I really appreciate it thanks again and keep up the good work.

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mark Wheeler says:

Brake jobs look a whole lot easier than working on wipers or windows. Gack!

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jane Kennedy says:

Thanks for the video I've learned a lot from it. I have a 2005 Jeep Liberty and the passenger side window the cable came up like a snake, like you express to us and couldn't figure out what I had to replace. So thank you for that. It still looks complicated for me to do. Especially that red lock inside. It looks difficult to get to. I might attempted it but I don't have the tools anymore that I used to have. I used to work on vehicles myself before I became disabled. I have replaced a drive shaft and cleaned the lifter's in a 1985 bronco and replaced the distributor coil and carburetor. So I was a good backyard mechanic. I sold that Bronco and bought a Toyota. Lol. Then had to replace the water pump 3 times. Lol I never should've sold my bronco. Oh well anyway thanks again. 😊

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars J Griff says:

Thank you once again. Brought a mint liberty cheap for parts. Owned stated had a cylinder down, backfiring. Your other video gave me the idea to check the rocker. New lifter put the rocker back on. Great runner. Now to fix the window regulator and I will have a new daily runner.

  27. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars A Physics Professor says:

Oh, this brings back a nightmare getting the door panel off our Jeep Liberty. Jeep really didn't want them to come loose.

  28. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mike Chiodetti says:

Working inside doors is so much fun……not!
Get your tetenus shots with all that rust there!
Well it's fixed till they come back wanting you to repair the rust damage.
HAPPY NEW YEARS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ERIC!

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Frank Newling says:

The little one is growing like a weed and I'm still a year behind on my catch up videos❗
Another great video, thanks Eric and family.

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Duncan Mac says:

I've been seeing a lot of that Jeep in several of your past videos. Seems as though you have a customer for life. Thanks for the video.

  31. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars 70 Kid says:

I just did one of these yesterday on a Liberty. I suggest taking the motor and regulator bolts all the way out. It makes it easier to get them in and out of the door.

  32. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Joe Lund says:

If anyone can do it you can

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Joe Lund says:

  38. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars XxEWxX says:

Jeep power windows, a model of inefficiency! Always owned Jeeps. Every one has had at least one window drop through. I found a good way to fix it for free though.

In all honesty I don't know how you don't have a million subscribers. Your on camera personality lends itself to greatness and your very clear in the repair and in you diagnosis. In fact I am subscribed twice with having two channels. I also know this takes real time as I thought about making some repair videos but have yet found the time to do so. Keep up the excellent work and hope to meet you sometime soon.

  42. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars geoffrwelsh says:

You ever try to find one of those metal spring clips that hold the glass to the regulator? Even the dealer was like "whaaaa??". They are only missing, if the new regulator doesn't come with new ones.

  43. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars CCC Detective says:

    Hi Eric
Due to the condition of the door I was wondering why you did not just split a piece of heater or fule line of appropriate Diameter and reinforce the original regulator cable housing? I am sure it would last the life of the door.
    Keep the videos coming.

  44. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Andy Kidwell says:

That beater going to get a sticker with that much rust Dr. O? In Maine, she'd fail state inspection instantly.

  45. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars throttle bottle says:

likely it's not worth fixing the windows, be in bone yard soon due to failed cats and inspections, needing $2000+ repairs, lol.

  46. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Sunrise Tactical Gear says:

Ribbed for her pleasure, turned inside out for yours.

  47. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars pete says:

dude why so many posts pulled i want to see what you got for us.

  48. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Aaron B says:

Are you really spending that much time on that rusted out POS door! The window not going down is the least of this car’s trouble!

  49. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Teddy Blair says:

Well at least it's not a Mercedes!

  50. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Lucy and Jumper says:
