In this video we have a look at a 2008 Jeep Wrangler 4 Door that came in for state inspection and we soon discovered that the horn did not work. Seems simple enough right? -Enjoy!

lets run the horn thru a computer its be simpler they say🤦♂️
Chrysler needs to add a "Check and clean chassis grounds" to the service schedules for their vehicles.
Thank you very much for this video. This was exactly my problem. I don’t know that I would have ever found thought to check that particular ground stud.
Please keep ppl save by teaching us how solve even this small jobs thank you very much for ur help and share ur knowledge 👌🏻👍🏻
I am having a problem with the horn not working on my 2012 Jeep Liberty. You covered this issue pretty well in this video but most of us don't have all of the fancy equipment. One of the first things I did which you didn't suggest in the video is to hit the lock button on your key fob. I did that on mine and the horn honked telling me immediately that I didn't have a blown fuse, bad relay, or bad ground. I haven't torn into the steering wheel yet to check the button or clock spring but I am guessing it is one of them.
this one I work on 2013 wrangler is the bad clock spring
👍👍👍👍👍
I have that scan tool
In my car a fused wire runs to the horn, the other wire runs through the steering wheel to the button and then straight to a ground…, even horns are complicated these days it seems..
Great video. Thanks!
Thanks for that awesome information on the jeep 2008 horn not working help me out a lot
Very helpful video.
Another cool video with an awesome new toy
DID YOU SHOW HORN?
Another cool piece of kit for diagnosing those pesky dodges
I didn't think you had to lite Jeeps.I thought they court elite them-selves..
this is the best color for a jk.
Should have played with the customer by pushing in the horn and asking them if they hear it. Lol
6-6-20
Can always jam the push stick from the seat to the horn button if no one is around ….
Good afternoon. My daughter has a 2013 wrangler with no horn or high beams. I believe they share the same fuse. I couldnt get any power on either side of the fuse when the horn is pressed. And turning on high beams turns off all headlights. Any suggestions? Thanks. Love your videos.
HEY! Eric
Today is 03 March 2020… now the Power Probe stays in the tool box !
Just Use A Soldering Gun and 60/40 Solder and Solder The Wires Together…
I saw that tool I don't have, and I was out ! What happened to good ole fuse pulling and wire splicing !
Right tool for the right job👍🏻
And yet another great video from the spicy Italian 😂
Don't underesimate how long it takes to fix a simple horn – just taken me two attempts on a Focus. Replaced both high & low in the end – corrosion at the terminals at each each horn.
thanks for the good tips. my 2007 k horn has stoped working. cheers!
Great video! This fixed my horn! And my hyper-flash turn signal! Thanks!!!
do the fob work for ob1 cars i have a 95 plymouth acclaim
Yep fix a horn on a goose crap green Jeep.
Thanks a ton for this. This fixed my Dad's horn issue. Subbed!
I have the same color Jeep and my horn isn't working. Hmm… I think it's a conspiracy. Thanks for a great video!
This video is not very helpful because most DYS's do not have the diagnostic tools this person has. Waste of time.
I think the car company's should go to all sS bolts and grounding parts.
Please help my horn is not working when i read the wire to the horn with a multimeter it gets 3.7v even when the car is turned of and when i start the car and use the horn it gets 11.3v anyone have an ide ??
Another great video Eric O.
2010 JKU horn suddenly stopped working one day. Fuses were good…watched your video and made the same repair and it worked immediately. Found lots of corrosion inside the coating. Thanks for the video.
"What's the matter with these guys?", they're garbage! Good idea. Got a set for the shop and after they went right left on me for a third time on a short wire, right in the garbage. Talking about the red handled universal wire strippers.
A little late here, but just found and watched this. I hate the TIPM idea. Permanately mounting relays into a circuit board is a bad idea, especially for those on high use circuits, like the cooling fans. I'm glad that Chrysler abandoned that concept. Eric, you may already know this by now, Chrysler has schematics/illustrations in the wiring diagram section that show where every connector, splice, and ground are located. Very useful for when you're looking for things and don't want to tear the vehicle apart to find them. It's saved me countless times.
I realize that years ago we could honk the horn with a cheap mechanical switch and maybe a relay but you have to look at today's sophisticated vehicles with a philosophical eye. If you didn't have all of that myriad of electronic gear to assist you in honking the horn you wouldn't have a reason to buy all that shiny new testing equipment (toys) and your wife or girlfriend would look at you with that look that says, "Do you really need that? The kids need braces, the house is too small, I need new shoes, and the dog has a vet appointment…….." LOL
Would running a separate ground for the horn achieve the same result?
I got those automatic wire strippers too…biggest hunk of crap made…some days they work and some days they dont! Just like my brother in law!
Wouldn't an air ratchet be faster
My MGA has a line from the negative terminal through a button on the dash to the horn and to ground. Works flawlessly.
Are we advancing if horns have to be integrated into a computerized system ?
Edit: Per wiring diagram, obviously not
i was in the motor vehicle trade for over 51 years , when a horn would not work 9 times out of 10 a f/n good clout with a 2lb hammer fixed it, if it did not we would strip the horn down and repair it , LOL..
Horn doesn't work? Better fill up the horn fluid.
Your probably, gonna to have the same problem in your jeep. . lol…
