In this video I am tacking care of some equipment at home and that includes my 2013 John Deere 5055E Tractor. I bought the tractor used last year with very low hours on it and the guy I bought it from had just changed the oil so I didn't bother with anything. Now I have put on just about 80hrs since owning it so it is time to carry out some basic maintenance including, engine oil and filter change, lube, fuel filter, air filters, tire pressures and hydraulic filter. -Enjoy

Thank you for the video. I have a 5075E with about 1300 hours. The Power Reverser keeps freezing up and won't go from Neutral to Forward or Reverse. When it does, I get a "Transmission Information Indicator" Any Thoughts?

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dave Brosius says:

Who sells a tractor with 60 hours on it? Man the salt must be bad in NY

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars palladini971 says:

the John Deere Police are going show up and give you a good talking too, you are not supposed to work on John Deere tractors. And the fact these new filters are green, you're in big trouble!

By far my favorite newer Deere. I run an 88' 1050 Deere TLB and she's a fuckin beast, bought her being so simple and duty-est perfect for all the work I need from her.

Jesus' himself drove an 88' Deere 1050 TLB too….hard to match up the VIN # tho….but after I think 2015 he swapper to the Deere 5055e for the slightly smoother ride.

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars ExtremeRecluse says:

What attachments do you have? I can see the attachments. How do they mount? Are they made by Deere? You can probably get plugs for the grease fitting holes.

    strap wrench man

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars nomebear says:

The hood, or engine cover and fenders are plastic, and subject to UV damage if left uncovered. The replacement cost can be expensive, so best to keep it in a barn or covered.

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars nomebear says:

My sister owned the same model tractor, a very capable machine. It had never been serviced. Changing filters, fluids, a new battery, a new tire, and replacing nibs for greasing the bucket, cost for parts and fluids $1,110. Several trips into town for tools (oil filter wrench) it turned into a two day job. I don't understand why people will spend so much money on equipment and not pull the service on it.

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Johnny Sechrist says:

Love my ol 47 Ford…use to pull with it at antique tractor pulls…it has had a six cylinder conversion. Even at low rpm's it'll wheelie a few feet off the ground.

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars klumpy103 says:

neat trick using the air line to create a vacuum, that's experience right there.

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Roger Thomas says:

You should mark the date and the mileage on your filter with a black marker then you can tell when it is dew from the last oil change was done.

You should NEVER use after market hydraulic filter on tractor. Ok to use aftermarket filters on fuel and oil. Nor use filter wrench tightening hydraulic filter.

No no no no fill your fuel filter up first before installing and bypass all that priming crap.
