REeeeeeeee
Love your content. Plz keep it up.
I told you to use a smaller bit…5mm (3/16") ….but do you listen?
WD-40 works well on the adhesive….
Yep I got to do it diagnostic on my power window motor on my 95 Plymouth Grand Voyager, I know it can either be the switch maybe a break in the wire or the motor but I'm leaning on the motor, cuz you can have the key on the switch on and it won't do nothing but if you give the door it's like shut with a little Force it'll roll up so I'm leaning on the motor but best to start with the wires first LOL
Have to say, watching you remove that broken mechanism was truly riveting;-)
Tip take a small punch and hit the stem back out of the rivets so your drilling the softer part of rivet just a little to make it easier to drill
I had a similar issue with my window from the switch not working in the beginning of the video… I unplugged the switch and plugged it back in and it started working again… It went a few days later and I took it off and cleaned the contacts and it's still fine 2 years later.
Wish Me and my brother took his car to you for u to replace his window motors then me and him wouldn't have struggled to clean the tape residue off
For the record, the door panels of all S10 or S15 based vehicle are notorious for breaking at the two bolts behind the door pull. It happens every single time no matter how well kept the vehicle is. That plastic simply cannot handle the stress of being pulled on for years on end. I've not only worked on a lot of these trucks, I've only two of them. One was a blazer and the other is a pickup. I sold the Blazer, but I still have the pickup. It runs like a champ, but the interior needs a lot of work due to the low quality of the plastic Chevy/GMC used in these trucks.
Ray, I work for a trucking company and our Mechanics have a machine that refill the can of brakeclean…
Love my 95 blazer, but hate messing with the door panels they are so broken lol. Now is just a trail truck put perfect for doing such things. Love the videos ray.
How about a grinding stone on those rivets.
Hey bro, when you ziptied the extra wire to the regulator ,You left the wire touching the motor. It may come back again.. lol..
Slow with a drill bit with the diameter of the shank. For monel or steel rivets, lube helps as you had. If it spins or otherwise use your pencil grinder or die grinder and sand the head off.
SPRAY THE CLEANER ON THE PAPER!!
I would love to meet the mad bastard who decided that a component that can fail should be permanently affixed to something with rivets, and then devise a suitable punishment for that misdeed.
Someone need a good set of drill bits
It's good to see that you revere the polarity. Polarity should ALWAYS be respected!
Why did I get Soo much pleasure out of seeing you wipe up that gluey door? 💆🏾♀️
like ur rivet gun was it alsSnap on product?
the shop charges consumables?they should use that money to pay for consumables
Another fine job Ray. WD-40 removes adhesive residue great. You don't need to worry about the paint either.
every mechanic lets just use brake clean
GoJo hand cleaner (white tub) will get that stuff off faster than anything. Just dab it on (road tar, anything sticky) and wipe it off.
As one that has polished his car (myself!) to a mirror shine and coated with ceramic coating, i would slap you around for using brake clean. lol, then again, i wouldn't bring my car in for repair nor would i use Gorilla tape. Nice repair, happy customer!
Only one complaint. When you cut the cable tie you didn't cut it at a 45 degree angle for easier location by the next mechanic.
that rivet gun has a built in collector doesn't it? i believe if you hold it up and pump once it drops it in there
If you can’t remove the rivets you shouldn’t be trying to explain how they work
Don’t even try to remove the speaker because you don’t understand how to remove rivets,
You need a tripod to mount the camera, so you don’t try to do a two hand job with one hand,do da do do !!!
Supposed to punch out the center part of the rivot first, then drill it out!!!
Once you remove the rivets holding the window mechanism to the inner door shell, manually slide the window up in its tracks, hold the window glass up with tape, you have copious amounts of it, and you can then slide the Electric Window Motor and Arms, out or the door shell. K.I.S.S.
Don't You Own A Dremil? Gind the rivets off fool! ??
Zip tie “click” 🤣
Lmao!! The "Doo di doo di doo" mid sentence had me cracking up.. you never miss!🤣🤣
Ray I enjoy watching you work on cars are very professional if I need work done on my my tundra I definitely bring it to you keep up the good work👍👨🏻🦳👍
Hi Ray, enjoyed watching this one as I know the pain of repairing window componantry and soeakers very well!
I commend you for re-use of the factory rivets – I would have tossed those and installed threaded rivnuts myself both for the regulator and speaker. So much friendlier for the next tech that has to be in there.
Also pro tip on those big rivet guns, if you tilt it vertical as the shank snips off it should drop neatly into that little plastic catcher on the back 😉

Customers are never loyal they'll stay around for a little while but they'll always find somebody else I do have some customers I've had for years but most of them nope.
If it was available I'd prefer vinyl tape over any of those, but depending when/where it failed I keep duck-tape in my car…
