All that extended crank over a few Plastic Tabs that broke What a Cheap fix little spiral Clamp and it's good to go ton of Tension on them 3 plastic tabs wow good quick repair hopefully it gets replaced good video as always Eric O @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC

I have to change my fuel pump too. Right now it is about an hour away from me. I just got the pump in and I have to go there to install it. I want to make sure I bring the right tools with me, so can you tell me what size/type of chisel you used?
I wish I could measure the diameter of the little holes so I could make my own spanner tool, but I am not near the car. SO it would really help me if you could tell me what chisel you used.

I’ve replaced a number of pumps due to drain back. Always wondered if someone made a duck valve that went right on the fuel module it would fix it without pulling it from the tank.
You are what i consider to be old school mechanic. Get over the problem and fix it rather than immediately fit new new new.
If this were my car I would rather have the metal clamp than a new fuel pump.
Seems as tho the hose clamp is a better design than factory 🤷

I would try a plastic glue and the clamp because you're going to have to throw it away anyways so what have you got to lose
I primed the pump false positive it was corrosion on battery n distributor wow !on my older nissan so now I'm really confused how adding gas while starting helped it with low spark

Thanks! I just tore into my 08 Kia Rondo. That fitting was cracked, just like the one you worked on. I decided to risk it with the worm screw clamp like you did. It starts up just fine now. The hardest part was screwing off that 5 1/2" ring.

Not too long ago I was working on my car changing out the front struts. Then latter on I noticed my car taking too long to start. I’m wondering if I might of hit something in accident. Idk I need help

I have a 07 Rondo with the 4 banger with 186,000 miles and you can hear the fuel prime before starting. You need a spanner like the one for a Milwaukee angle grinder to get the fuel pump ring off. They are good running cars. I put 80 miles a day on mine.

I work at a used car lot. with my boss that "temporary" fix would be permanent.
Id leave it alone. Call it fixed.
In my Holden Commodore I've had trouble with even the Fuel Miser brand of fuel pump sender unit which was worth over $300 AUD brand new but somehow they knocked it down to $100 AUD.
I think that the fuel gauge wiper was faulty so I ordered a no name $75 AUD fuel sender unit on eBay & it lost pressure to the point of 50 PSI so I fitted the Fuel Miser fuel pressure regulator as the new one failed,the problem is not long after fitting it that was the same so I ordered the PR217 type of fuel pressure regulator from China which has worked good ever since setting its pressure to 60 PSI.
The problems I was having is bad fuel economy as the fuel injectors weren't atomizing the fuel properly & I was getting P0171 & P0174 lean codes as well as the long term fuel trims being 25% on both engine banks.
Now it's at 2.3% on the left bank & 3.1% on the right hand engine bank which is much better.
People might blame me using E10 fuel in it when Holden says that Fuel can be used in my car !
So here I am, it's Midnight and I'm watching SMA. I'm all tensed like watching a mystery-thriller. Will he Fix It ??

It's only factory specs it you put the retaining nut on in the exact same position you took if off, otherwise it won't be torqued right and the marks will be meaningless. I think it's on tight enough though!

The used car dealer will be very proud of that repair. I'm sure he didn't replace the pump. And he probably didn't need to.
That S-bent hose also has quite a long lever arm to help break those plastic tabs…
It though the used car guy didn't let you do repairs only diagnosis.
That was the main fault to those fuel pumps, the had 3 locking pins on just one side of the pump. And when it builds pressure it would pop that one edge up like this one.. I think that was a recall
