I have a 2009 Sedona and noticed today that the ESC light came on and the van wouldn’t move like the transmission slipped into neutral. This happened while I was driving when slow down to let a car go around me. So I pulled over and turn it off let it sit for like a minute turn it back on and the ESC light turn off and the van went back to normal. Would the switch cause that too. Thank you

My 08 Kia Sedona has a p0741 transmission code that is a $25 part inside a $2000 labor transmission.

My biggest concern is this "snap back" of the front end.
When I accelerate, it pulls and the steering wheel feels a little lopsided.
When I let off the accelerator the front seems to snap back like it was being pulled to the left during acceleration.
I have to be very very cautious because the whole vehicle will snap pull to one side like I did a harsh TURN/STRAIGHT maneuver.
Best explanation is a SNAP BACK and it sends the vehicle into a zig zag that almost sends you off the road if you don't expect it.
Molatov cocktail or a full day at the rotary seems the best way to repair it.

Had mine replaced under recall in ju '07 Accent. The snow thing is amazing. I lived 25 year in CT. Had a blast in the blizzard of '76, we built tunnels from house to house. Years later my roommate calls me at the apartment, I worked nights so had just got home. He says it's supposed to start snowing so why don't I go grab a case of beer and some snacks and he'd see me before the roads got too bad. I hoofed it to the nearby supermarket, case of beer, chips, pretzels and some Slim-Jims. I look behind me and there's this freaked out looking couple 5hat literally have a shopping cart FULL of meat. Roasts, rib racks, loins. So I asked if they were having a snow day party and they were all shook, didn't I know we're getting a blizzard? It's going to be pandemonium! I shrugged, McDonald's at the other end of my street would be open within 2 maybe 3 days tops. I didn't see the need for 3 months supply of meat.

So it's the brake pedal switch bad. I've had that happen to me on two different vehicles. Very annoying but easy to fix.

I discovered a good way to get that nut on the new switch…
Hold it in place with a telescoping magnet then release the brake to pin it in place while you slide the switch in.
Push the brake in just enough to release the pressure from the nut and use the telescoping magnet to pull across the the edge of the nut to get it started and "magnet tight"… Then finally snug it up with a wrench. I was able to do the whole job in about 20 minutes.
Hope this makes sense and helps someone!

My 2008 Malibu has the same type of issue. Turned out to be the C2 connector near the fuse panel on the passenger side floorboard. Added a tiny bit of di-electric grease and SHABAM, worked like a dream.
You definitely doit better you doit with class I do it with a lots of frustration if I could find somebody like you where I live I won’t doit at all I know there out here somewhere but I did not find one yet lol

I hate Kia’s! My brother loves them. Has2 of them. I remember back in the day when I worked on cars, Renault Alliances were the money cars. Seems like everyone had one. They were a flash in the pan. Now they are in a pain museum somewhere. I think KIA sucks.
Did listen to your advice about Fluid film. Had-my 2019 Honda CRV undercoated with the stuff. It smells kinda funny but I like it.

Hello, i have a Kia ceed sw 2011. ESP light stayed on for a week or two and noticed that cruise control don’t work. Changed the brake light switch but still the same problem. I noticed later that the gear indicator switch will not work anymore. Any advice what can I do more ?

this exact issues how I got my current girlfriend because of her Hyundai accent. She killed the battery with this and I just had to get under her dash with a couple wrenches and fix the issue
Just got a safety recall notice for the kia sedona 06 to 10 for hydraulic control unit..when the key is turned off the unit remains energized…if moisture gets in it can result in a short therefore causing a fire..this will be the 3rd recall
Kind of like Floridians with rain in the summer. It's nothing for an inch of rain to drop in 45 minutes or less. Streets flood and people freak out. I used to live in the Tampa Bay areaand in 77 we actually got snow and again I think in 86. Since I half the people live down here come from up North you think they'd know what to do if that stuff hits the ground. Nope!
I had a 66 Chevy Bel Air and my brake light switch started acting up.I just needed to tighten the nut which was easier said than done.but I think the people who designed where those switches go have a real real hatred for mechanics!
