In this video I have a look at a 2010 Kia Soul fresh from the auction block. It was dropped off on a trailer as a crank no start. It also had a P0335 for the crankshaft sensor. Easy enough right? Never assume 🤨 -Enjoy!

When a ginger doesn’t own one, do they have no soul?

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Hola! Bill Malec says:

Kia Soul. In case you forget what vehicle you own, just look at the seats. 🤦🤦

Plz make a shirt that says "look at me im a crank sensor" I dont know why but I lost it when you said that.

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Paul Cattapan says:

The petronas spell should never be used on a crank sensor. It's used on faulty blinker fluid pumps.

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dark Delta says:

For me, "Relativity easy to get to" usually means, it's not going to be the fix.

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars dillydave13 says:

I hate when my crank sensor doesn’t go deep enough into the hole.

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars ghhtrainmaster says:

Have you ever worked on a car that wasn’t rusty and crusty ? 🥴

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars SI Rich says:

I'd love to see an after photo when they power wash the engine!

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Bob Monde says:

That hand sign you used to explain cleaning the rust out around a hole could get you hurt in some parts! Lol!

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Craigie F Concert says:

In Calgary auction vehicles are going for more than private sale vehicles! Insane. I don’t know who would gamble on an auction vehicle you can’t drive or check out unless it’s a smoking price.

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Stephen says:

Out of gas would be my first guess.

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Gromin With Rob says:

Kia with crank, but no start. What could go wrong. Hope he bought it for a half eaten bologna sandwich.

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars raptorms773 says:

It's an internet special sensor. Never buy cheap EBay sensors or Amazon cheap sensors. I had this issue with my dad's pathfinder he bought a cheap sensor and it wouldn't run all the time which was weird.

    STUPID CARS! I can relate.

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jacob E says:

Bypass the auto shutdown relay, then try and start it, if it starts you have 2 options, cam or crank. I don’t know, that’s how I diagnosed my Jeep 4.0 no start

I dont work on auction cars. They always turn out bad. Fix one thing then somthing else goes wrong and I get stuck in an infinite loop of " Hey ever since you fixed this, this is wrong "

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mr. C says:

Ahhh, I had DTC P0016 & P0335 on a 2010 2.0L just after I changed the timing belt. After taking off the covers to review my work, I found that I was (1) tooth off that was causing both DTC's!

Dewalt is making some utility knife blades with a carbide edge that seem to work really well. they come in a dispenser pack.

  28. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars NUNYA BIZNES says:

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tim Ryder says:

You probably won't see this as it's a really old video, but I'd you hold the Light button down on the meter then turn it on, it'll stay on till you turn it off.

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Shane Harrison says:

Smelling like diesel to me brah

  31. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Rudolf Benner says:

Let's see if we have spark, hold onto this wire while leaning against the car.

One of your best diag videos I’ve watched so far. Had me laughing, and helped me understand cam sensor faults better.

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Rick Rathman says:

I've been binge watching SMA, officially my new favorite, way to go Eric O and family, keep up the great work.

  39. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars larry munday says:

Your a crank sensor with no rhythm. LOL

  40. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Reyes D. Chapa says:

My chevy tracker 2000. Has the same problem. Only change for a new one. 63 dlls.

  41. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Scott Dimond says:

A question for anyone here…I have been following and watching these videos (until my eyes bleed) and have not been able to see a video where no injector pulse is thoroughly addressed. I have narrowed my problem down that far and it seems I am specifically not getting the ground signal to any of the injectors. Have spark. I tried the cam pos sensor bypass trick with no luck. Any videos you know where this is explored? Thanks in advance!

  42. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Bob Baurhyte says:

Why switch to a com to measure ground? Just move test light to positive battery terminal

  43. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars WrecksMo says:

The Vtec just wont kick in. See if youre getting a signal from the awesome sensor, that'll tell you if the Vtech is kickin in properly.

  44. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Karan Sikka says:

"if somebody steals this car, does that mean you lost your soul"
you got a chuckle out of me…

Eric, where can I pick up the trouble light?

  47. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars W .Khairi says:

If this video says anything then its ….EXPERIENCE….lots of it, Thanks a bunch.

  48. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars dan mackintosh says:

Thanks for that Eric, you just completely helped give me another idea on an ABS issue on a Peugeot 206! Long story short, car got hit & I replaced back axle etc with one from a parts car. It had no ABS sensor fitted but I had known good spares, yet still ABS fault after rebuilding. Not looked that deep at it yet but I was thinking either it had a non-ABS hub or a wire got tweeked in the wreck, thinking about it though the rust buildup keeping the sensor too shallow in the hole is a good possibility.
