In this video we attempt to replace a rear wheel bearing on a Kia Sportage 4x4. The rust slows us down a little along the way but in the end we win! -Enjoy!

Takes way to long showing your struggles considering we have to sit thru commercials on this video… I had to tap out only 1/2 way thru and find a different video.
Eric the bearing on the kia said skf that means skefco we had a factory in south west Scotland which made them and the snap ring had cir on it which means circlip you are never to old to learn. 😂✔️
Is there a part II to this video where we see the ballroom dancing?
ARM-NYA ..
SUDAH PADA BERKARAT PARAH
TINGGAL ROMPALNYA SAJA
AIR DAN UDARA DI SANA
SANGAT BERSIFAT KOROSIF BANGET
Hi, Mr. O. I hope you are still dancing. How are your sore feet? Thanks for sharing! Stay Healthy!
Eric,
You saved me with this video. I like your 10 lb slide hammer. Of course I had to get one. Thank you very much for being here.
I always say "If juan can do it , I can do it." after watching Mr GO do it I can too. Thanks for dropping your tools loke I do.
People who ask why do you spray it don’t live in cold temperatures
There was a guy at college that walked barefoot year round. Called it "Earthing". And I do live near you so our winters are comparable
use the old race
He do that and put candle wax on it
So I have a stupid suggestion or a thought maybe if you backed the three lug nuts off about an eighth of an inch then maybe that would give you that eighth of an inch forward or inward movement as you strike the center pin but by keeping the lug nuts tight against the hub it gives you less of a inward force as you strike the center bolt.
Just thinking
Maybe you should get a go pro that you can attach to the Bill of your hat 🤠
I know this is an old video, so I don't really expect a response. Just caught you saying you were gettting an intern for 3 weeks from the diesel tech program. Seems a little odd. Why didn't they get him an internship at your brother's shop, where they do diesels all day? ..and what would an intern expect to learn from a regular auto shop in only 3 weeks, other than perhaps how to change tires!! Love your videos.. and keep up the awesome work.
frankly, i like these axle bearing videos the best…they remind me of gladiatorial combat….no diagrams no wires no fuses no foam filled dash panels….just hammer on metal and sword on shield….real simple….all 100% technique, skill and strength….no computers or chimes bonging….just hammer blows and jackhammers against the best rusted metal mother earth can offer…
it occurred to me that some new kind of tool is needed to get these stuck axles out of the bearing….and only 1 tool remains still unused ….shotgun shells…..just like they used to start old radial aircraft engines with a shotgun shell charge so also you could rig up a chamber and apply it closely to the axle end and shoot it loose with a 12 ga. shot shell blank cartridge
How did the dancing work out? Always great videos.
Haven't you learned by now , the guy sitting at home who has never tried this repair knows so much more than you ………
People dig you…some lonesome.
I has the same problem with a sportage the rust on the right wheel was fixed and I needed use the force
Yea we know about your jokes right ? What can a rooster do that a man cannot do ? Hummmm hummmmm he can eat with his pecker !
what i do on mine is remove the lugs, then using longer 1/2 bolts allowing to use my plate and arm
Is this the same as a Hyundai Tucson ??
Sorry mate got bored.
I love the cowbell. I am isolating with Covid (three vaccines) and I’m very happy for this entertainment. Thank you
Eye protection really needed it this time you were lucky 25 yrs of industrial safety experience here , i love your videos, don’t want you hurt or disabled. 👍
i actually found your channel a few years ago searching for how to deal with rust. despite being roughly the same latitude we see very little rust in portland, or area. i wanted to have a clue what to do if i ever encountered it after i saw my brother deal with an east coast car, as we usually call it, and got his southern mechanic, as i've heard y'all call it, butt handed to him… but i learned sooo very much more. thanks dude 🙂
I can tell you why they don't do dirty dancing anymore, it's cause wives tend to go back to see the teacher for private lessons, LOL.
I feel sorry for you Guys because, when EV's come to take over, you have to take all kinds of Certifications to do what you're doing now efficiently ! ( But, one thing about this, you WILL make more money in a CLEANER environment ) !!!!
(It's a 'Split Pin' > By the way ) *
If you turned that control arm bolt any without trying to loosen the nut, you probably twisted the bolt or turned the bush ?
You never once put a ring spanner on the nut and tried to loosen it ? You only tried the bolt which you were bound to snap. If the bolt was seized in the bush it makes no sense not to try the nut ?
I want to know where did you get that bearing removal tool
If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer.
GOOD JOB
Don't miss is all I can say or you going to fill your britches up real quik
My impact monster is the IM510 snap on….breaks 10-20 truck studs.
Holy moly what a fight!!!
Pressed in bearings should be illegal.
I bought a 2007 Lexus ES350 from California. It will never see salt while a have it in Detroit. So easy to work on.
Don’t use an impact wrench on any type of puller. Ruined the threads
Are those drill bits you got your wifey halfway decent? I got the same exact set carrying and all. Haven't used it a whole lot. It was a gift. Everything is identical but it's labeled Sontax.
The axle shaft can move in a little bit
Who in their fucking rite mind would call a complete stranger for advice on life or for that matter anything. Hell I no I wouldn't. But I dont take many ppls advice on much. Plus you really cant trust YouTube creators opinion on lifes ups an downs. But that's just my opinion an like I just said dont trust ppls opinions ….
Lol hahahaha
you can do it
Great videos, very informative!
Safty glasses are a good idea!
Just saying
Eric you could try welding a bead all the way around inside of bearing race where rollers run. i’ve found that this will shrink it. Goood job
watched the entire vid. very educational and funny.
please wear safety goggles, making me anxious over here
I have done the exact same thing I ended up using a dremel tool with a stone tip to grove what was left of the bearing
