What is the general cost of this ? My Kia Soul is doing this now?

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Chris Harper says:

A TPMS could self learn the new sensor ID codes but it just seems like another way to stick it to the Right To Repair people. The car industry is basically breaking the law but it is okay for the system to malfunction but can not be disabled by a service provider. TPMS is now required by law on all new cars. I wonder how all those crazy republican were okay with this regulation? I'm a responsible car owner and check my own tire pressure. Well…at least I use to.

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Rhyme& Reason says:

I hate all this runaway technology in cars… it's just driving up the cost and making owner repairs so difficult.

On Kia Rio they have standard order for TPMS sensor I have code on sensor 2 but doesnโ€™t show me what tire ๐Ÿ˜”

I was thinking… any need to rebalance? Right when you said… "No, no need to rebalance" lol.

    Nice clean shop btw!

Buena explicaciรณn. Y lo mejor es lo fรกcil de montar el sensor.

Are the aluminum and rubber valve stems interchangeable?

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Abel says:

$1500 for a Kia SENSOR!!! No way, just junk it. My sensor costs 70 bucks at mavis, Honda Ridgeline

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars El Supremo says:

These are an unnecessary pain in the you know what. Just a way to have to spend when you least need it.

Hi Eric, have a question: my car has a metal valve stem(as in the video) and TPMS sensor. So the wheel shop replaced TPMS sensor that I bought myself, but when they returned the old sensor back to me, I noticed that the tech didn't install the metal washer. I asked why not, he said it isn't really needed there, as there is a seal inside and valve nut is going to do its job from the outside. He also pointed out that if it bothers me, the can unscrew the nut and place the washer without removed the wheel/tire. Do you think it is an issue if that washer isn't installed or no big deal?

Great job and preview for the beginners ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Beautiful job Sir. I learned more about these sensors thanks you.

I just bought 2021 Kia Seltos and a set of summer and winter rims. On the summer rims they did not include sensors. At around 1000km the sensor went off. So they tell me the sensor warning canโ€™t be turned off. Sensors must be installed in the aftermarket rims for that warning to go off. Are they telling the truth? Or is this a scam to sell sensors? Thanks!

I got a tire from a u pull it spot. It was a 2011 Kia Soul. I have a 2019 forte the wheel fits. My question is will the tpms work in my car or do I need to get it programmed? Iโ€™m using it as a spare only.

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars joseph s says:

Very well explained and executed…from one tech to another….keep up the great job and may you be blessed with plenty of profitable work.

Just fixed one, legit just lucky I guess.

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mark Herring says:

Do you have to program it or can I buy them pre-programmed? I have a 2009 Toyota matrix I have to do this to 2 tires. I was told by goodyear if i do it myself i need to get them pre programmed.

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars JustAYoutuber says:

so on the kia forta lx mines i think a 2015 is it one unit or can u sepertae the sensor from the vale stem bc my sensor works but the vale stem is all chewed up???

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars juanps3killer says:

What scan tool are you using and does the tpms reader come with it ???

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Alex Paradissis says:

SMA long time listener first time caller. I have a Kia Sedona with the TMPS lights on, but the pressures are all correct. Is there a end user TMS reset/re-arm/re init button or function? Is this a dealer only fix? I don't want to spend 10k for the tool.

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Howard Iko says:

I am confused as hell. How do you rotate tires without a car relearn? Don't all new sensors have their own id?

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Peter says:

TPM for the lazy people who won't spend 1.99 on even a cheapo tire gauge and actually use it, hell some people barley know how to put gas in the car, then they want self driving cars, I guess the car will drive itself to the mechanic when it's sick, I wonder if it will even make the appo8nment via Wi-Fi?

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Thuzul says:

    Absolutely amazing info

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars GNX157 says:

What sucks is that first tool he used can help with diagnostics, but it can on,y reprogram aftermarket sensors! (I looked it up). He had to resort to the bigger tool to reprogram the KIA OEM sensor.

  27. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars jgpgurneal says:

Can you help me with the names of your tools? i need to do that for my old KIA Sportage 2009 i change the 4 sensors and the lights still showing up. Thanks.

  28. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mike Chiodetti says:

    Oh ya, Great Video!

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mike Chiodetti says:

I bought the 4 Nissan sensors and the local tire shop replaced them.
First the original Left Front went temp sensitive intermittent, then the left rear, same thing, so all 4 are replaced. That was 2.5 year ago. Still good for 8 more! HMMMM! Truck is 13 years old. What's the life expectancy of the air bags? HMMMMMMM?

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Robert McMahon says:

51psi?…on a 3200lb vehicle w 16's? Doesn't sound right? Are these especially hard and skinny tires like on the Prius? Doesn't pass the smell test.

  31. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars MackyG says:

hmm. This makes me think if I should buy OEM Kia TPMS if they cause problems. Do you know if they are one time programming as in like if I use them for another set of wheels do I have to reprogram them everytime I put them back on?

    Thank you

  32. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mortal says:

THe fact these systems are required makes me angry. I hate them. Not necessary, and a big money grab

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Duncan Mac says:

    Thanks for the video.

  34. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mark McClain says:

I have a very low mileage Altima (09) with only 57K on it and the last two winters when it's gotten cold the tpms sensor light has come on. Last winter it was just one wheel. I went to Wally World and they re-entered the ID for that wheel and all was well till this cold snap that we've had in the last two weeks. the light is back on again, and I'm guessing that it's the same wheel again. I'll further speculate and say that it's probably a battery issue with the sensor and it acts up due to the extreme temp and the age of the sensor ( all 4 wheels have the original sensors). So they are 9 years old at this point. My question is this, what do most people do with this situation ? Replace all four and call it a day, or just replace the one that's going bad ?

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tony Thomas says:

Just got a $58/tire+$22learn quote from Les Schawb so I came here to see if its a DIY job. Looks like it's beyond my equip/ability. Darn, get out the wallet! Thanks for the video, liked and subscribed.

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Sightings On 18 Wheels says:

Easy fix black tape over tpms light when batteries die in the sensors.

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars RyMann88 says:

As a Sam's Club tire tech, this process is the ONLY way to get a new sensor to fully communicate with a Jeep. Downside… We don't have this tool. If it doesn't have a auto relearn or a relearn mode option, we try via OBDII where our scan tool does all the work (which fails 98% of the time). Jeeps (far as I know) don't like that.

  39. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Burgeger M says:

Ultimately, I think having the real time tire pressure information is not a bad thing. It can help prevent uneven wear of tires, damage, blowouts, etc. The part where he said something about going slow to go fast reminds me of the legendary Lincoln commercials with that McConaughey guy. "gotta go backwards to go forwards"

  40. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Thaxmanwvu says:

Awesome video, as a KIA tech its cool to see how you aftermarket guys do it. Your TPMS tool is way better than the factory pos. fyi "YD" refers to that generation of Forte. I wish the factory tool was this nice, it does not display temp, psi and barely works at all lol.

  41. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Joe Milton says:

Eric, I can do the same with a $700 Autel, a $140 TPMS tool, a $45 floor jack, a block of wood and a truck bumper. So the argument that valve stems used to be a quarter is… well still totally valid I guess

  42. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars michael snyder says:

Some days are diamond some days are stone…..theres your problem Lady…..lol.

  43. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars ncrdisabled Submarine vet says:

How much did the TPMs sensor cost?

  44. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Arthur Rodesiler says:

Just more BS so the car companies and politics can make more money. YOUR car or truck will be out dated before you wear it out for the average driver.

  45. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Laatu says:

I suppose Subaru allows you to disable the air pressure measurement, so one dont need to buy those and will save money! ๐Ÿ‘

  46. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars UBBERTANKER says:

    never had that b4

  47. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jondoe Smith says:

TPMS? Sounds like it needs a tampon.

  48. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars fightingfalconfan says:

Ugh…I hate TPMS. I work at my local Firestone and every time we do tires we have a dumb TPMS service kit that we have to use. Depending on style of sensor it will usually consist of the nut, a washer, rubber gasket, new cap and shradder valve…I hate them things. But man Eric, your slow at the tire machine.
