"Dash Otter Don't make a liar out of me." Belongs on a t-shirt!
WOW very interesting super kool ,1st class great info.,, AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++ again great video I liked it a lot ,keep up the great work.
I work at a GM dealership in B.C., Canada & I can speak from experience…. make sure the o-ring is in place on your pressure meter!!!!! The test valve is directly beside the distributer & fire is the result! Fortunately the fire was extinguished before any damage was done! We were lucky that day!
Do you want us to not move our heads while we watch your ink pen?
I was a mechanic for 40 years. Diesel mechanic by trade and muscle cars as a hobby. You have great intuition and are an excellent technician and it appears that experience has been instrumental in your trade.
Did you ever get it back for the abs/brake lights? I bet it's the solder inside the abs module very common on these blazers when they come on together.
That is a well cared for truck. Nice job on the injectors. I have never seen one of those. Very interesting. Have a great day!
I would love for Peeeetah to film you when you do stunts like two-handed efficiency! 😀
Love following your work and diagnostic mind! But even the sun has got spots (Swedish proverb) – I noticed that bracket holding the fuel lines to the spider injector module went in up side down compared to how it came out, I guess that would mean that the fuel lines aren't fully seated now?
Great music in the background around 20 min mark! Keep up the great work Ray 🙂
Funny and very apt thumbnail for this video, now that I noticed it. Thanks for playing around with the spider injector/ injection manifold to show us how apt the name is. 😀
What an unholy mess just to get in there
Prudence the safety goat approves.
Great 👍 work 👏 👍, crazy 🤪 system
286,000 miles on my 2000 GMC Jimmy
286,000 miles on my 2000 GMC Jimmy
I don't know about the rest of the Peeps but I didn't notice any difference when I was under the hot hood or in air conditioned Cab.
Awesome job Ray keep it up bro. I didn’t like when GM came up with that system it had a lot of problems
Oh man! 90's-1st decade 2000's chevy fuel injectors are such a pain with that intake manifold and even down to the fuel lines and seating the nozzles.
Isn't that prudence the saftey goat?
I think my favorite feature of Vortech poppet valves is how they will refuse to open with only 1 psi of fuel pressure loss from the spec, causing all sorts of fun issues, and that's before other cool things that happen like broken lines to the injectors, and plugged fuel regulators.
what another rare tool for you?
What a beauty! Definitely someones baby. Very nice to see!
Classic GM "bean counter" engineering, Make it the cheapest way possible. A leak at the internal pressure regulator can wash out the rear cylinders and ruin the engine. I see that is the improved model with actual individual injector control. I also love GM's "just run the wiring across everything" policy. I do really like the dual sensor system, MAP and MAF to get the best control signal at all rpm ranges.
Prob would have had you put a new lower intake gasket on it too. those go bad and you get the milk oil lol..
4.3 run forever.
I still have my 1993 S-10 4×4 blazer the first and only brandnew vehicle I bought and still have with only 107k on it. As as I worked for GM and got a new company car every three to four months. And I rarely drove my blazer. Unfortunately this was equipped with the Vortex injection system not the TBI that most came with. And have had to Four of those crappie spider units replaced. Cheapest crap ever . Luckily I was able to replace two of them myself at least the manifold is metal on mine not those Plastic ones used nowadays. Last one a little over a year ago. And of course they don't make them anymore and this one is a rebuild one. Plastic junk PERIOD. I was going to put a TBI unit in but being Commiefornia Nope couldn't do it because of the state's smog NONSENSE. Every two years I have to take it to a smog only station which it always passes easily. In fact better than my brother 2018 Lexus 🙄
Ray finger pounds are measured in the bedroom not the shop! 😆
Is that prudence the safety goat in the thumbnail??? Has someone been watching videos from canukistan?
I like the otter on the dash.
Damn, I miss my 99 blazer. That has to be a 2000 the 99 had a column shifter.
I had the same color too.
Oh man
so much stuff to take off that is ridiculous
Iv done this job on my 99 suburban 3 times,, its not fun and I destroyed 2 of those big o rings trying to get the spider body to seal on the plenum, and I think its still leaking, sure I tried a used one first from the other motor I had and it was hydro locking lol then I saved up the money to get a new one like I should have in the first place
Owned one (1999) the worst vehicle I have ever owned by far. Never ending problems.
I’d think a gear wrench would be perfect for bolt under heater hose
I am guessing Ray is in BIGGGG demand.
My 98 kinda doing same thing but code is for maf but it will just stall run out of fuel pressure and starts right back up I haven't driving truck in a year due to this
Did u say code it had was a p0125
Don't know why they call it a funny bone coz it ain't funny when you hit it !!!!!!
Why is it on all the vids I seen so far the spark plugs are embedded in Spark plug tubes nested under a whole load of pipe work. Here in the UK every car I have seen has the spar plugs easily accessible and visible, no spark plug tubes.
