    If the managers have any sense at all they'll appreciate your approach for several reasons.. Customer satisfaction, and more importantly, word of mouth.. When customers feel they've been treated fairly they're more than likely to tell their friends and pass on the fact that not only did you fix their issue but didn't fleece them in the process.. The return business and possible influx of new customers as a result of being a reputable tech and business cannot and should not be overlooked when determining fiscal returns.. I love your approach and these videos Ray..

    I stumble into your channel few months ago, and since then I have been watching your repairs.I wish I can find honest mechanic like you here in Los Angeles California. My son’s 2015 Honda Accord was involved in an accident and was repaired and about a year later the ac stop working I took to the dealer and I was told the compressor needs to be replaced and will cost 2000 I took it back to the body repair shop and they repair it at no cost however months later stop working again. I am not taking it to the dealer trying to find an honest repair shop but it is difficult to know who to trust. I commend you for your honesty . If I were leaving somewhere in Florida I would take my vehicles to you for repair . God bless you honest man is hard to find.

    Ray, great video and good to see a logical thoughtful process of troubleshooting the problem. I have a question about the flex hose that was near the low side A/C port coming from the firewall. It looked as though some one had just jammed it into the plastic housing. I know you would not have left it like that so it must be a bad angle and perspective. My background is electronics so not used to all the strange vehicle engineering quirks. Keep up the great work and get your own shop!

    vacuum test not conclusive for leaks, a system can hold a vacuum but will leak under pressure, like 350 psi!!!

    Last week, I told this guy his Cutlass needed new spark plugs, that was it. The plug tips were worn all the way down. He passed, went to a known scammer to get a second opinion and the guy seriously overcharged him, for a new carburetor and never fixed the problem. Then, the guy brings his Cutlass back to me and wanted me to fix his issue and write a letter that I fixed it correctly by just changing the plugs, so he could hand the repair bill over to the scammer to get his money back from the un-needed repair. I said, can’t help you because I don’t go behind another mechanics back! Better take it back to your new favorite mechanic! 😂😂😂 blank them!

    Customers piss me off and go back to the scam mechanic, that ripped them off in the first place after I saved their butts from $1,000 in scams, instead of coming back to me, then want me to give them a second opinion of the scammers diagnosis and exorbitantly high estimate. Blank them! I’m nice, but state that I cannot serve them to their expectations, because you have taken it elsewhere before you came to me first! Blank them! I don’t care, I don’t need their blanking money! Why did you even go back there? People are idiots!

    Unfortunately I had a recent experience with Fred Anderson Toyota. But since I bought our Highlander new in 2018 I will say that this is the first time this has happened. I bought the family plan for our car, primarily due to my age/health so my wife wouldn't have to deal with future issues if something happened to me. I used to do lots of work on my vehicles until I suffered a stroke. We put very few miles on vehicles. In fact there is only a little over 17,000 miles on the highlander. (Fred Anderson keeps trying to buy the thing back.) Anyway it was time for the 42 month inspection to keep the plan in effect. No problem. At 48 months I'll get an oil change based on time, not mileage. BTW, I stay behind my vehicles as well as I can, including watching tire wear closely. To Fred Anderson's credit their service techs take videos of what they do. So after about an hour my service 'advisor' approached me in the waiting area and suggested that I have a 4 wheel alignment. I declined of course. After I got home I told my wife that the service advisor tried to sell me something I didn't need. Anyway I checked my email and the video was there by the tech who performed the inspection. He was actually quite surprised at he low mileage and good tire wear. He redid the tread depth check that had already been done at check-in. Then came the survey in a later email. As diplomatic as I could be I shared my experience and let Freddie know that if the service folks didn't try to sell me something I didn't need that I'd be a loyal customer. Otherwise, I'd choose an alignment shop when I finally did need an alignment.

    How are you doing I watch a lot of your videos I have a question for you I'll try and make it short. I have a 2008 Ford exploder 4.04 by 4. All started with the check engine light. I fixed everything and plus more even pulling out the motor changing all the time chains. Full tune up for Asheville changes 161000 miles on it engine light stays on I got my own scandal all 4 02 sensors And I replace the 2 upstreams going to change the downstream ones plus I changed the air flow or flow thePerge valve EGR. Everything runs great but that damn check engine light stating all 402 sensors still and the purge valve and EGR valve it has a rough idol but it's drives fine no smoke spoke no smell of rotten eggs We checked every single wire Still can't figure it out Any ideas

    I never was so good at diagnostics. So I just changed everything. I am the definition of a parts Cannon. Started at the tires and changed nearly everything. Only original parts left in the drive train are engine block, heads, and rear differential.

    I only trust someone elses diag when its my coworkers diag and i know them / saw the car in the shop, he did the diag but when the parts show up / when the customer wants the car back hes busy, not there that day etc. any other shop, a new guy, everything gets looked over again.

    What a way to retain customers, be honest. I try and do most of the stuff myself as dealers have told me I need stuff that I know was not needed. Not the case always but it is hard to trust people these days. You my friend would have my business if I lived where your place of business is at.

    I am struck by how many "repair AC" jobs are as simple as "replace leaky valves".
    I am willing to wager that is why my AC no longer works well. I did the consumer bottle recharge thing a couple of years ago when my car was about 8 years old, and the AC worked great for about six weeks before tapering off in performance.
    I will ask a mechanic to check the system for leaks and see if I can get AC back with a low repair bill.

    I applaud you for your actions and not charging unnecessarily. One question, where were the bubbles coming from? Was it the valve? Great video. It is a pity there are so many crooks out there. I bet the customer was happy and grateful at your handiwork.
