If you don't like this video BLAME MRS.O! She says that I should show the people what we go through at the shop to remove and replace a tire along with the balancing. Also stick through to the end for some bonus footage! -Enjoy!

Do you change scooter and motorcycle tire? How about a video on motorcycle tires.
I don't think my local tire shop actually does all this when I bring my car in for a tire change or replacement. You go above and beyond so now I can tell all the steps they should be doing. Also, I wonder why some wheels don't hold air correctly and maybe I need to inspect the wheels with the tire off for corrosion. Thank you Mrs O. letting us see how to change a tire correctly and get a little info about balancing.
Why did you say those are Japanese wheels and they need to use fn clip on weights. I just got new tiers and they put the The sticker weights and my car vibrate on high speed ?
eric i like all your videos thanks
You make a great hourly guy…
Haven’t heard anyone say ru-glyde in a while!
I have a second gen crv. It's indestructible
What do you THINK of the STOP AND GO ENGINE?
They still have 30,000 miles left when we were younger I buy may pops used tires you never knew When they would burst
I have a question am getting ready to open a used tire shop which tire sizes are the most common seller appreciate your help
Thanks to Mrs.O because for anyone that is just starting in a shop this is something they will be doing and who better to learn from than the best in the business so thanks to the teacher and thanks to the boss
This tire video was awesome for me, because I got a job at a tire shop and knew what to do from watching you.
Awesome tire video ever continue to make another tire video
Good video I just had a tire done at Costco. They don’t tell you shit so I was wondering what all happen after they I handed over my keys for a tire change.
Apparently nobody heard or made out the sexual reference he made. "Tap it from the backside, that's what I always like to say"!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
you didn't line up the dot on the tire with the valve stem for a better balance. I'm not surprised though, other than the goodyear I worked at, i have never seen that done anywhere else. but I do know it makes a difference in the amount of weight you use. we were bored and experimented one day. wether or not its a better balance idk. but when people pile weight next to weight next to weight, try something else like balancing the rim only first. done that. good thing it doesn't look like you have a run flat changer. those tires kinda sucked to do.
Greetings, Eric. It used to be that tyres had a "low weight spot" (indicated by a "red spot" marked on the sidewall) and normal practice was to mount the tyre with that "red spot" in line with the valve stem, so as to reduce any residual imbalance to a minimum. You do not appear to have made any mention of this aspect of putting on a tyre onto any rim in any of the vids I have seen where you put on tyres. Why do you not do this, or do tyre manufacturers in the USA not mark that spot nowadays? I really would like to know.
I DO! I DO! Vanessa O. is a beautiful, thoughtful woman, and I'd listen to anything that she has to say. (Not follow her advice, mind you, but certainly listen). She brightens up these vids a great deal.
What tires did you put on it? Are there brands you recommend and brands you stay away from? It's tire time for my Volvo XC60 and those 235/60/18s ain't cheap!
Great video but we don’t own that machine you Used to take the tire off the rim
I lost a dime sized patch of skin from the wheel weight removed once. Not cool.
I had to do a 10 ply trailer tire the other day… bout as bad as a low profile tire
Nothing you do is boring, I really do enjoy watching you show us how things are done. Keep up the good work :). If I lived in your area you would surly be my mechanic!
Seems 23,675 people wanted to watch you change a tire after all.
I would of liked more insight how to operate the machine i.e what pedals do what!! and how and where to apply the weights ! do you see a place to attach the weight??? is it dead critical??
What determines if its outside clamp or inside clamp on the tire machine. On my machine I almost always use outside clamping as I cracked a rim onetime with the inside clamps, not sure how, but it happened
Hello Eric , you folks sell and install plenty tires . Can you do a video on how and why to choose different types of winter snow tires , good , better , best ? thanks , tis the season 🙂
I'm glad Mrs O suggested that you post this video. I found it very informative. You should make Mrs O the executive producer of your videos.
What's with the black rim paste? Shop I worked in used this white soap stuff, no rim goop, just take a whizzer wheel to the rim, goop the tire with some stuff.. we used a hunter mounter, and a hunter 2000 road force balance with the quick release clamp.. the road balance was nice, but the rm measuring arms were kind of a pain the configuration of the arms determined if you were doing sticky weights, or clip style. I got ok at it, could do 4 tires from, on vehicle to back on with new rubber in 20minutes… machine was across the shop..
Eric this video was interesting but yes your right… most people know what its like changing a tire out.
for me i almost wish i had my own tire machine and balancer making sure your tire are the best they can be for the road gives ya a safer ride. Thanks… till next video.
Was hoping for a live event to ask but…What would you recommend snow tire wise for an inexperienced new driver with no winter driving experience moving to Rochester this fall with a 08 subi legacy? also studs or no studs? Thanks
I have to laugh at the people complaining about balancing the tires with the stickers on them. Watch a NASCAR race. They run 200 miles per hour on tires balanced with the stickers on them.
Another great video thanks for the upload!
Re: your introductory comment – we SMAers watch these videos to see YOU doing the work. What the work is is mostly irrelevant. But it would be nice to see more "Outdoors" type work "With Eric O.", if you catch my drift…. 😉
Is that a fricken coats 1250 with a fricken laser beam in its fricken side!
HI ERIC O. I think it was a very interesting video, I know I learned something. THANKS FRIEND
Love your tire change and your wheel balancer machines pretty nice equipment
do you do tractor tires, or do you call your brother
That was great; so much more care than the local chain store slobs I’ve watched. One item – no need to find the yellow circle on the tire and line it up with the valve of the wheel? I always do that when I mount and balance mine.
For the most part. I mount and balance Pirelli p zero sticker tires for the race cars we run. These road tires either look a little less back breaking. Or you just make it look easy as hell. Also. The video was great. Thanks for posting.
Nice
What about doing a video on steel rims where the tire never seems to want to break the bead
I have watched lots of tires getting mounted. Most tire slingers are incompetent. I knew a couple of guys who worked at a local tire store and used to watch the show when the tires got mounted. Learned a lot. If you're good, you make it look easy. You make it look easy.
Hey Eric, New subscriber here. You’re a tire guy clearly. I pointed out to my buddy while doing his brakes on his truck that one of his balancing weights on his wheel was broken(cut in half) he brings it to discount tire and they said they cut the weight on purpose. Is this bullshit or any real truth to this nonsense?
I used to clamp the rims on the outside so that you don’t get dimples on the inside of the rim…
what about taking off the tire label before you balancing????
Thank God. I’ve been waiting for a tire change video!
you should see my 305/25/22 get mounted on my 22×10.5 rear wheels by my 120lbs friend it's usually him and 2 other guys with the machine so they don't scratch my "fancy wheels" as you put it…
even if it is repetetive I enjoy to see the same stuff again
