Of course when this procedure is preformed in our shop we give a much more thorough examination of the vehicle than what is show here. We try to keep the videos short and hit some of the important parts if you are doing this your self at home.

Wish I saw this earlier today I bought a fram filter from Walmart that they said was the right one but I guess that's why I never found it. I unscrewed that housing but thought it was a fuel filter

Great video. It helps to wipe your hands once in awhile so you don't leave oily fingerprints all over the engine compartment.
Give me "old school" access to an oil filter. The stupid plastic engine covers are simply not needed.

The video title says "Oil and Filter Change" It's not that hard to stick to the Video title. Cut the music out FGS, it's a distraction. Is the music playing in the background while actors are speaking in movies/TV/commercials?? No it isn't. This video would have been less than 5 minutes. You amateur Youtubers are not Movie Producers or Short Film Indie Producers. Just stick to providing targeted/to the point information. Thumbs down!

be careful tightening those caps, those housings have been a problem with leaks, they can crack if overtightened. With these I use a short ratchet and go very easy on it. You just have to get the cap flange flush with the top of the housing, the o ring gets squeezed between the cap and the housing.

I notice you never check the trans fluid if there is a stick to check it.
What do you do if the bypass valve goes flying out? At work we use an updated filter that doesn't need that valve.

Have you ever seen black plastic shavings from the threads on the filter housing? Definitely plastic and definitely saw some stuck on the threads of the bowl.

Do you know if there is a difference between the 2011 vs 2012 vs 2013 Dodge Caravan engines? Or are they all identical? The reason I am asking is that the manual on 2011 and 2012 uses 5W-30 oil and the 2013 manuals says it uses the 5W-20 oil. I have cross reference the block, heads, and cranks, crank bearings between the years. All uses the same part numbers. Is there any reason why they recommend 5W20 on the 2013 and onward? Would 2011 and 2012 accept 5W20 and run just as well or better go with 5W30? Or will there be issues if a 2013 on 5W30 vs 5W20?

Informative video, thanks. I had a question: I noticed that the air filter had oil on it from the fresh air hose above it for the engine. Is that normal to have oil coming out of that hose, or would you say that's an indicator of a PCV issue?
What is the material you have in the oil drain pan? What type of mesh is that? Can you buy that anywhere?

In case no one noticed the tire pressure light was on unless he crunk it up on the lift just dont make sense your supposed to check your tires every day before you drive if one looks low then you break out the pressure gauge not knocking you I like your videos
I think you should call my local dodge cervices place and tell them wtf is is wrong with them, i just got oil change on a car and they did not re fuil the liquids

I noticed the mesh in the oil drainer. I should do that to my drainers. Oil always splashes out when the engine is hot haha

Very nice and thorough video. Thanks. On my van, every morning, or even later in the day, when I start it up, it sputters and sometimes dies on me. After restarting, it's fine. If it manages to keep running (doesn't die) for a few more seconds, again it is fine. It will be fine for the rest of the day, unless it sits idle for maybe 12 hours or more. Any ideas on that problem?
