I don't see what this thing's gonna start. Old piece of junk. eon, it's cold out. Yeah there's a starter down there somewhere I see it? A little dark belt's coming over there.
dually. Get out of there. That's all good.
The CAT seem to be purring pretty good there. Just needs some TLC I think. 😁
Time for a starter and a belt and fix the fuel leak and she's mint
That's weird I thought caterpillar made some of the best diesel engines in the world
Seems like it needs some care, not the abuse.
Electric motors huh? They always fail in a specific kinda way.
Brushes.
LACK OF MAINTENANCE ON THIS RIG…
Let me know if you're gonna get rid of it that cat lasts hopefully you get that throttle button fixed or a new one for them It will work a lot better in a higher rpm range
I'll bet with a little bit of mechanical ability that's going to be a money making piece of junk lol Amen
Diamond in the ruffffffffffff
The 3126 isn't unreliable. You just haven't maintained jack on it. Lol
How can maintenance issues be held against the brand?
Give the starter a bat… starts up.
You live in Florida. You can't possibly be " cold out there" cold means water could possibly freeze. It's a condition non existent in FL in the outside. Unless that thing is in the biggest drive in freezer I've ever seen I call BS. By the way if your ever seen a freezer big enough to drive a tractor into you donthe story on the freezer not the truck.
Junk motors
I never liked those Chevy dashes!
😖😝👎🏻
Oh yeah, CAT 3126 and 3116 are my favorites. Also the Stovebolt 261 rounds off as favorite ⛽ engine.
I taught I saws a putty tat
Looks like it isn't taken care of
Cat needs cat software it’s great but you need a laptop of their software plus sub and boom it’s this sensor, switch out and runs like a dream. Cat loves its electronics
I don't know about the shorts we like to settle down to watch I don't know if its just me
just stating the facts.
Hey Ray what is that truck
I had a 3126B. Great engine, 330HP 860ftlb. They put them in some ford 650s.
I was running it in a freightliner chassis 27,000lbs+ towing a chevy tahoe 4 down behind it and got 10MPG.
Try that with your dirtymax 😄
Just because the belt is rotted and falling off, the starter is semi-broken, and the fuel-lines leak does not mean it's an old piece of junk… It could be new 😊
Do you know what a banana and a Detroit have in common? Neither one of em are worth a damn until they turn yellow!!!!
😆 How dare you call a Cat a piece of junk.
I've ran out of comments so this one is for Ray
Well, maybe it's on number eight, how many lives does a CAT have?
Just send it to Josh at the Adept Ape.
Maybe it's a piece of junk to you but an excellent engine for me
And the point of the video is???
It's red so you know it's good
Kodiak?
Cat makes very durable equipment, but when it breaks, you may as well throw it in the river. That junk wont never stop breaking after the first time. Now the new stuff has electrical problems from hell.
My life, every day 🤣
😆 she just needed a few love taps. 😆 them diesel people put there would say keep driving her and she has plenty of miles left. I just dont do diesel engines 😆.
Starter armature needs cleaning and brushes need replacing !
For an old piece of junk, it sound to me like it's running fairly smooth.
…And that filter, wow, big. 1R-0751. I bought a similar one on amazon, intending to make a coffee mug out of it. Found a nice tutorial on AvE's channel (although in that video he says he's making a beer stein).
Where is the starter?
Before I changed one starter there was hammer tied to a rope and a spring. you pulled the rope and spring hit the hammer to the side of the starter.
Well it worked 99% of the time, and that one % it started without bumping the starter
Maybe a Isuzu c223 diesel next, in a Chevy LUV or Isuzu p’up. I could have bought a p’up with this engine in it, I should have bid higher.
I love the 3126. They're actually good engines. This one just needs a little love.
❤
3126/C7 really wasn't a bad motor. Underpowered, but pretty reliable
Lol…."it's cold out"
What are you adding to the collection now. New project! New tools to buy, cat related
I know that beast has to be old – Caterpillar gave up on making OTR engines back around the 2007/2010 time frame, because all the EPA mandated emissions hardware made it too much of a PITA – and their then-CEO decided to move nearly all their engine production outside the US as well. But their fuel filters are the best around – I rigged up one of their 1R0750 filters on my 2005 Jeep Liberty CRD diesel – synthetic 2 micron absolute.
