The INA D5 cross references to the following Nice D607, General 4459-00, Schatz AT-4853, Gold Star GS4459

Try frame and spring shops too, those look about like king pin bearings
They don't put them in the kit because it would drive the price up. Retail they are about 34 bucks.

Astro makes the same type of bearing remover kit, the bearing you'll need for their kit is the INA D7. Available almost anywhere

I bought my first. Otc bearing installer in 1988 so l 've been doing this a while. Saw the vidio and ordered a thrust bearing. It works great, makes it much less of a strain on your tools. By the way, my a.c. clutch installer and my ps pump pulley installer came with a thrust bearing. Wonder why otc didn't include one as well. Great vids I do not get as much rust in Tennessee as you do, but I do get some. I feel for you. Good work ain't cheep and cheep worth ain't good. Keep up the good.

Lisle has a tool VERY similar for R & R wheel studs.
Extreme pressure grease might work too in place of the thrust bearing should a bearing not be available. It wouldn't hurt to lube the threads of the jacking bolt. Thanks for the video.

Why you just don't run a weld bead on that lil bearing race and fortify it. And see how much use you get out of one.
The bearing you used is it single direction.

We have the 6537 kit and I have had nothing but problems using that yoke piece to get hubs off..way more hassle than it should be, just wondering if all the various pcs in the elite kit match up with what comes in the 6575 Hub Grappler kit? Was thinking of just getting the grappler separately, since have all the various pcs for dealing with bearings in the elite kit..
Wouldn't it work better with a second bearing on the rear? Or is it not possible to add one on the back side?
The bearing manufacturer is the German company "INA" I have always used them with my Hub Shark by Ken Tool
Nice! I don't do a lot of hub bearings but it looks like this kit might work well to instill jeep d30-44 upper axle side control arm bushing. Have u ever used it for that?
Just a suggestion: Tapered Roller Bearings may have better lifespan. This type of bearings are designed to withstand also the axial force.

check out the hub grappler update kit it's way better it comes with a new hub pulling bridge new forcing screw with a cone bearing and some new adapter for the rear if the Ford explorers and u use your hub tamer adapters

I recently purchased a set like this, not OTC, but an offbrand with good reviews. But didn't like the washers here, even with the idea of oiling them up a ton for a job. I'm going to purchase 4 of these thrust bearings now. Thanks! You should be getting commission from bestbuybearings. — UPDATE: To anyone considering a purchase — make sure the forcing screw included in your hub kit is 3/4" diamter. Mine was 7/8". This means the thrust bearings posting in the info of the video will not work with kits that have larger forcing screws. You'll need a d8 bearing instead.

I always liberally oiled the forcing screws each time. Used to do suspension bushes on a taxi fleet but have never used a hub tamer ( don't see them much). I very rarely used an impact gun and always used a thrust bearing off early model Holden (GM), oiled. as well . Forcing screws threads don't last long when used dry I found. Enjoy your channel Eric
Have you ever come across a wheel bearing that could not be pressed out using this tool? I borrowed this tool once, followed the steps exactly, and I could not remove the old bearing. I ended up bringing the whole knuckle to a machine shop to press the bearings. I'm trying to figure out if the tool didn't work because of corrosion (I live in NYC) or because my compressor wasn't strong enough. I have a pretty nice air compressor, so I was shocked (26 Gallons, Chicago Pneumatic which is an American Made brand, and an IR impact).
